I agree my sister ten years ago told my husband to divorce me. He did but it was meant to happen anyway. I was not Muslim in the past. My ex husband didn’t have a mom or dad so that was definitely not a problem for me. However I can see why it’s an issue for some cultures but not all people are close to their parents especially the reverts. Astaghfirullah

My husband says when he looks at me he sees Shytan. I tried to talk to him, he says i do not talk with Shytan. He is being abusive to me for long time. How can I get divorce from him? He doesn't want to divorce. I live in NY
Assalaamu aleykum sister it is sad that your husband is abusive to you and don't want to divorce you. But i have good news for you that Islam is easy religion and you can divorce him with out his permission just talk to your nearby mosques imam and tell him everything and iam sure he can help you and tell him that you want qula from him and qula in Arabic means the imam or the ruler can divorce you from him without his permission. May Allah make it easy for you and gives you good caring husband that respects you and not compare you with sheytan..
