I just started getting into the board game world and just wanted to say that I love your channel and the way that everything is presented. I feel like I get a real understanding of the game without needing to spend an hour watching a playthrough. I eagerly await all of your videos and appreciate all the work you put into them!
Always excited for the next video :) - keep it up my man! I just ordered mint works because a fan recommended I give it a go for the channel - this one looks interesting overall and very very portable.
Great rundown and thank you for not over glorifying it. You're spot on in that it's a great filler game for travel or intro. As is Mint Works in my opinion. And as always I love the production of the video. You're putting out quality content that is filling a gap in the market, THANK YOU!
You know what I didn't hear you say? That it was fun. Oh, maybe I missed it. But I'd love a couple of fun mint-sized games. A lot of the Pack O Game [1] family of games are easy to toss in a bag and play, and a few are just plain fun. (I LOVE Hue and Bus and Lie and Taj.) [1] boardgamegeek.com/boardgamefamily/25085/pack-o-game This game seems better than that.
I tend not to say "this game was a blast" or "I had so much fun" in my reviews, because those phrases are so over used by board game reviewers that they feel..... meaningless to me. They also don't really say anything of value. I just checked by last 6 scripts. Not one do I mention if a game is fun or not. I guess that's not a thing I do. I'd rather talk about why a game would or wouldn't work for someone than take the time to put an empty platitude in there.
@@3MBG I guess. But people connect with emotion. If you laughed through the game, I'd want to know. If you had tense excitement, even for a simple game, well, that, too. But if you were bored, but other people loved it, that's also a good signal. But I'll just keep on asking if you liked it if I want to know. You seem to be pretty accessable. :)
Yeah, i liked it. ;) For what it is. Like it's not going to replace twilight struggle in my heart. But I am going to put it in our bag when we go away for a trip. But my channel, as a rule, is more about giving people information they need to decide if they want to explore a game further. Not about me giving games the thumbs up or thumbs down like some board gaming Caesar. Lots of channels do that already. Some take 20 minutes to say "this was good, i liked it" in about 100 different ways ;) it's also why I don't give scores. I leave the more emotive and qualitative stuff to the long form videos I do on occasion as I think it fits better there.
PS, forgot to mention in video that this was a review copy. My bad.

Cheers OC, that's kind of you to say
After playing so many heavy games lately this game seems like...well...a breath of fresh air.
Yeah Tim, that's how i felt. Just a refreshing amount of simplicity
There is something wonderful about listening to a Kiwi say mint 32 times.
Ha, I'm not sure what to think of this.
MINT.

Cheers Quaka.
A game under $10, simple rules for my puny mind, and a solo mode for people like me with no friends? Seems too good to be true.
Ha, yeah. Not every game needs to be a hundred bucks and full of hundreds of components. Sometimes, basic is good

Cheers Jim. I think the hard sell is dumb. Best to tell people what a game is like and let them decide eh?
@@3MBG haha that how I like to hear about a game. Not super negative or anything but honest.
Just got MW and was looking for a quick, clear overview video to send to people. Thanks TMBG!
Cheers. That's the plan
Small box games, what's your favourite. And am I right to cut small box games some slack due to their size and price point?
I'd rather have several small box games than one overstuffed CMON miniatures game
Condolences to the people of NZ; may peace return.
Aroha Nui KC. Kia Haka Aotearoa.
Basically these games are as small as the tin of Altoids you keep in your pocket in hopes that she will finally kiss you.
Hi, Player 1 took one ability action, can player 1 take same ability again?
Ask on BGG, i haven't played it in a while and im mid moving house so sadly the game is already in a box

@@3MBG "board gaming ceasar" 👍👍👍
We just didn’t like this one, but Mint Works is wonderful!
Yeah, I think Mint works is a bit better as well. My partner crushes me at Mint Works, we play it while waiting a the movie theatre.
