I found that putting molding putty in those limb pockets works fantastic at dampening and silencing , I also use innertube between limbs riser and under string and as rubber washers around bolts..This has been the formula for me .
My conclusion was the same as yours brother. Really loved this video and sent it to my friend because he just bought this. Someone I find wise said we need silent bows and heavy arrows so that's what we're working on with him. Thank you for the content
I bought this bow after I watched your initial review and after I did these things you have done, it shots and feels great. I have shot bows costing way more that you have to do the exact same thing to so they can be shot in public without noise shame.
I shoot with a Bear Black Bear that I inheritted and have beaver ball silencers, felt pad rests, and just got the limb silencers. I was thinking of getting a stabilizer aswell just to aid in vibration reduction. I feel like recurves look funky with a stabilizer though a bit.
Wow what a difference! Hey I remember watching one of your vids a while back and you recommended a UK guy for handmade strings - can you please remind me who it was please? Love your vids, keep doing what you do! You're a huge credit to the sport!
Hi, unrelated, but can the grip be too small for my hand? I've tried different grips, and even with the ones where my hand is really buried and has the most clearance, I atill slap my thumb. Currently using a winter mitten on my bow hand to not feel it... lol. Could perhaps putting a shorter string on provide the proper clearance?
You definitely can't get better than a good quality Flemish Twist string and some light-weight string silencers!!👌 Will definitely have to try the limb and riser padding for some true stealth action!!!😜
So on the inside of the riser slots for the limbs use Plasti Dip Spray mask off the slots and shoot a clean coat inside the limb pocket and the limb section that fits inside the slot SWEET Hack !!
I just got that bow as my first bow because of your videos! (even tho you said not to lol) I got it for $55 great deal. the string is trash and already coming apart. I want to order a new one from your shop, what length is best for this bow?
I’ve found limb silencers do more than beaver tails do. For most every recurve… the limb silencers are sufficient. Surprisingly when adding a quiver to the bow it also makes things quiter.. Agree?
You have got to work the way you grab the bow on each shot. Eventually you will grab too soon and it will likely be on an important pressure shot. Lightly rest three fingers on the back of the handle. It will give you confidence that you won't drop the bow and keep you from grabbing the bow. Good video on silencing.
For sure that would make it quieter, but not sure pushing mega weight arrows out of a 40’s lb bow is healthy for archer or bow. I am a pretty new archer and don’t know a heck of a lot, other than attending the University of UA-cam, and the extreme heavy weight arrow thing is not exactly passing my BS meter test. My meter says there are way too many variables in archery to say shooting 7-800 grain arrows across the board is the answer to what ails archers and their bows. I really want to know how spine figures into this heavy weight arrow thing. If a 40-45 lb bow takes a certain spine arrow, 500, for sure adding 3-400 grains on the point of that thing is going to test its limits, if not break the thing. I am pretty sure I just do not get it all.
@@chrischris4869 enlighten me then. You see exactly my short comings yet you have no input? I don’t believe shooting an arrow weighing 6-700 grains out of a 40# bow is kind of silly. Animals move and an arrow shot at that slow a speed may hit hard, but is likely not going to hit fatally. Change my mind and show me some proof of your answer. Unless you are shooting only within 10 yards, arrows that heave need to be pushed by a stronger bow…

I have that bow. Your string and silencers helped a lot. I don't use that cheap arrow rest. I think the felt rest works so much better.
What are your thoughts on the Bear Grizzly Recurve Bow

Great video, ty. When you release you look terrified. 🤣
Do you make a kit, like your showing for this bow? I would love to buy from you. I love your channel probably on of my favorite UA-cam channels!
There is a clear absence of after shot sound in the modded version. The extra audio of the limb to riser & string to limb vibration are gone.

Does Shatterproof have a felt kit with all those pieces for sale?
I can't wait to add these solutions to my Ragim Impala. Thank you.

Hm, so some people want to silence their bows? I just bought a 45# recurve that sounds almost like a whip crack and I love it :P

So I 100% get the felt, but why is a carbon arrow louder?
Hollow+light material
Awesome! 😀
The first thing I noticed is that the string is not vibrating (moving) as much.
same that was the noisey part in my opinion, also great video.
Pretty sure string silencers took care of 95% of the noise !!
90% of this won’t be a problem with my new Mongolian horse bow :)
Some string silencers and then all good
I shoot a compound and I really like you channel. Full of useful information.
is a compound bow noisy?
Wow great im hoping to silence my bow soon
I’m having trouble using your stringer😊

Dig the Uriah Heep background music
The hardest part is taking the backing off .
good video i almost bought that bow
first time I see limbs silencers

Still loud but Much better
Take it to the next level, and shoot an 700-800gr arrow and hear the difference.
