Love your videos. They are a wealth of information. We picked Sarasota as we looked at all the info online. However, when actually staying in Sarasota and looked at other towns in person we fell in love with Venice for multiple reasons and ended up buying a home there.
My husband and I live in Miami...he born and raised and I've lived here since I was 5. I do not want to be retired here. This decision on where to go is harder than I ever thought it would be.
Originally from Ohio, moved to Florida at age 26 to finish school in Gainesville, now retired in Pinellas County(Saint Petersburg). Like it a lot! But, if you live here year round, Summer sucks! Hot and Humid for 3 months. We travel elsewhere a bit especially in the Summer. Also a lot of tourists in the Winter months. Booming everywhere, and costs are going up a lot. Honestly the best option is to be a part time resident if possible. Also if water and beaches are not your thing, might look elsewhere. There is not a single real hill in the entire state. The list of cities seems pretty good, as stated, inland Florida is cheaper(and hotter)
As part of my retirement plans and also owing to the very shaky housing market now, I just sold a property in Philly and I'm thinking to put the cash in stocks, I know everyone is saying its ripe enough, but Is this a good time to buy stocks? How long until a full recovery? How are other people in the same market raking in over $200k gains in months, I'm really just confused at this point.
@MaverickDylan-7 Reason I decided to work closely with a broker ever since the market got really tensed and the pressure became so much(I should be retiring in 17months) so I've had an brokerage-adviser guide me through the chaos, its been 9months and counting and I've made approx. 650K net from all of my holdings.

Thanks for adding your thoughts Randolph.
Thank you for making this video. We love Dunedin and the surrounding areas. Is Palmer Ranch a 55 plus area?
Hi there, thank you for watching :). Palmer Ranch is not exclusively 55plus.
It’s so easy to make a video of the best places to live in a state but how about the best affordable place to live in the state of Florida.
Thank you
But there water is cold in Clearwater in winter time.
This might be a bizarre question but are there any areas in Florida that are not hurricane prone?
All have a chance to get hit except some are more prone to it purely due to geography
what about the panhandle? The prices are better and you still have beautiful beaches.
There are plenty of other great places to live in FL. This was just a starting point list. The panhandle is great!
It depends on which location. Check the crime rates. That was a consideration for us.
@@kimamay11 Schools too mine just went UP 5 to 8 😁out of 10 . K-6 will tell u who's living there too. The one in Hawaii was TWO !!!! ALOHA

$400k median price? House might cost what $75k to build? No thanks.
Cost a lot more than $75K to buy a land and build a decent house on it. I know, I'm a builder.
@@e-rod1596 Correct I built mine like $50K sold 17 years later $240K no Taxes..🤑🤑🤑
Thanks for adding...
