@@DefeatLust This is taken from an event that occurs in the 3rd season. It has nothing to do with their original fight. In this scene, Ichigo is once again within his Inner World attempting to find the power necessary to confront Aizen. I love how Zangetsu manifested Byakuya, Kirya and Kenpachi to teach Ichigo that fighting isnt playing around and should be taken seriously and that there are times when he must pick up his sword to kill or he will die and he must tap into his killer instinct in order to survive.
I believe the reason Ichigo doesn't have a goal to work towards like other anime protagonists (even Saitama has a goal and that's to fight someone stronger than he is) is because everything he does up until the epilogue of Bleach has been done so instinctively. Rescue Rukia? Instinct. Rescue Orihime? Instinct. Kill Hollows? Instinct.
What? He had motive to rescue Orihime. His instinct is the vehicle towards that end, but she was his friend, not some stranger who just happened to wander into his life. Same with the fight against YHWH. He explicitly stated his goal was to protect every plane of existence from his onslaught and that never intended to run from that goal.
Ichigo had a goal. It just wasn't a grandiose "Be the Number 1 (fill in the blank)" goal. Ichigo wanted to protect those he cares about. It's always been that way, but when his mother was killed by Grand Fisher and there was nothing he could do about it, it drove him to strive for that even harder. That's why he expressed gratitude to Rukia for giving him her soul reaper powers (and later awakened his own that he inherited from his dad). Becoming a substitute soul reaper meant finally being able to save the people he cared about from the spiritual forces of evil like that which claimed the life of his mother. It's a simple goal. It isn't as flashy as wanting to become The Hokage, The Pirate King, or a Pokemon Master, but it's still a goal nevertheless.
@kjelljohanbraten7408 I say self discovery. Learning about oneself and finding answers about who he is and why he was born. Ichigo is trying to learn about himself since he doesn't know what he wants to do. He's still a teenager who's still trying to find that goal.

Honestly, this speech seems perfectly made for characters like Ichigo. Not many other characters have the issue of fighting the Ichigo has, ironically. Yusuke never had a problem with finding a reason to fight. Neither did Goku nor Luffy.
a good example of this is when Ichigo fights byakuya when he first gets his bankai. Ichigo surprises byakuya with his speed and he could have ended the battle then and there but he backed away. He also tried to beat byakuya with his shikai alone while byakuya was using bankai.

DAD: You mean you need a reason... to work?
Why don't you just accept it? You enjoy working just as much as I do. You crave power, isn't that right Austin? And anyone who truly loves power, loves to measure that power in work. It's a simple fact! The question is, do we work in order to gain more power or do we gain more power in order to work? I haven't figured it out yet... But who cares. Because one thing is for certain. There is no reason we should ever deny it or try to change BECAUSE WE WERE BORN THIS WAY! You have always wanted to work, and you always will Austin! It's part of you. You do it instinctively. You have no choice but to work, because it's the only way to gain power. WORK, AUSTIN! If you want to control that power, take your effort and cut down your enemies. There is no other path. No way to move forward... or back.
WORK AUSTIN!
He's ichigo saying is so coool mann
"I AM THE GHOST OF BATTLES FOUGHT WITH KENPACHI!! FROM THE FEAR OF KENPAAACHIII!!!!!" ~ Zaraki Kenpachi
jiraya sensei night 2am thoughts be like
Man. He and hollow ichigo would have a field day together
Hollow ichigo: this mf spitting
This speech makes more sense in thousand year blood war
He was the best VA for kenpachi
How come they changed him later on?
You're damn right he is, it's a shame they changed it.
@@Casual_ShinShin i think he was working on other projects, or he wanted too much money... until his big battle with nnoitora, he didnt really have any major screentime, but still i remember seeing that battle before it was dubbed, and getting really excited to see it dubbed, but then super disappointed when it was a different VA
@@LordZeroTheNightmare IKR, I could instantly tell once the fight started his voice sounded different. Granted it wasn't bad but it wasn't this guy.
@@LordZeroTheNightmare David Lodge quit voicing Kenpachi because he was not paid enough. The role was then recasted to Patrick Seitz. David Lodge still continue to voice Jiraiya though
this guy is a true viking in wrong realty
Sometimes honesty leaves you speechless
I've fallen in love with this man/shinigami.
KENPACHI IS JIRAIYA?! OH GOD THAT'S INCREDIBLE!
white and kenpachi would be best friends
If only his voice actor didn't quit
I just realised kenpachi is jiraiya ahahah
Cause we were born this way baby
Honestly, this speech seems perfectly made for characters like Ichigo. Not many other characters have the issue of fighting the Ichigo has, ironically. Yusuke never had a problem with finding a reason to fight. Neither did Goku nor Luffy.
The Fear of Battles with Kenpachi!
THE FEAR OF KENPACHI
My boy jiraiya played this dude? WHAT A GOAT
Bro I needa rewatch bleach. Kenny is my favorite and I think my dad's favorite, too-
I love Viz media but I will never forgive them for forcing kenpachi’s original VA to quit the role and give to the VA of Ichigo’s dad
He wise when it comes to reading people in battle
Amazing dialogue and amazing english voice actor
Damn the song was about to start but the video needed 😔(good vid btw😀)
The good old days back when Kenpachi had an actually good VA.
a good example of this is when Ichigo fights byakuya when he first gets his bankai. Ichigo surprises byakuya with his speed and he could have ended the battle then and there but he backed away. He also tried to beat byakuya with his shikai alone while byakuya was using bankai.
Kenpachi is the best of all in the series
UA-cam started suggesting me all these Bleach speeches. Maybe I should watch it once more.
Man I wish this show was a good as I remembered it being
lol what?
It's still damn good
No
It’s better
its still great what do you mean?
Huh?
bro white was right. crazy im realizing kenpachi tried to put ichigo on first. imagine if ichigo took this to heart
Awesome stuff, song is Torn Apart for those who wanted it.
This makes me even more disappointed that David Lodge didn't come back to reprise the role for the Thousand Year Blood War arc, especially the fight with Unohana.
