Hi Doug, really good to see such good representation for Furch guitars in the US from you. Good job and good luck to you.

I bought this guitar about 1.5 months ago. There is definitely a difference compared to Sitka. I like it, because it doesn’t sound like glass chattering when strummed heavier, I also notice a little richer, warmer, articulated like you said. On the other hand it is not as bright and a little less volume than Sitka spruce. I have a 4 year old guitar with cedar top and it took about 3 years to open up. But when it did “ what a pleasant surprise”
This cedar Dreadnought is actually hard to come by. Most guitar companies out there actually don’t make it. Martin doesn’t make them. Taylor made them a few years back. But, it was GA and not the Dreadnought. It is hard to think of a company that makes them.

      Hello from France 😊 🇫🇷
For my part, I am going to place my order in a few days and I hesitate between the green and yellow series but I am thinking of going on the green series. OM-SR (left-handed model) I hesitated with: OM-CR but I was told that the cedar was very fragile ... so it bothers me a bit ... Okay, I only play with my fingers (fingerstyle) so I think it wouldn't be too much of a problem or damage if I took: cedar / rosewood. it is true that the spruce is very "metallic" "its clear" "its treble" but also very dynamic. and the cedar is warmer, smoother and sound a bit richer but less projection. it's difficult to make a choice I still hesitate in the end .. 😱😕
      what to do .... 🤔 😔

I always wondered what a good cedar topped dread would sound like. It wouldn't be my number one bluegrass cannon (though it sounded surprisingly great flatpicked, it reminds me of a good D-18), but it could be a fantastic "everything else" guitar. Love that airy, midrangey sound with the articulation of cedar and the reverb & overtones of rosewood. I had an old Taylor 714 that sounded similar, but this has everything that guitar had and much more.
