This is one of my favorites of the whole series. I love the funny ones. My favorite part is when Hoss is sneaking around trying to find the leprechauns and calls out to them in a really soft squeaky voice......."where areeeee you?" and unbeknownst to him Little Joe is on the other side of the bush and replies (also in a soft squeaky voice) ......."over heeeeeere!" and then almost can't help but break out in bellowing laughter. Such great memories. Thanks! Can you please upload the one where Hoss flies with the bird wings? That's my other most favorite funny episode along with this one.

Just like Hoss was ☺️ Thank you for portraying Hoss Cartwright. You really lived the role, because Dan and Hoss were so alike. I wish you had stayed longer with us. Rest in Peace ♥️
The environmental scenes are so beautiful in this episode: the Lake, Trees, Flowers, Grass are so stimulating and peaceful looking. Wouldn't you just love to own a Ponderosa? YESSSSS 😂😂😂
One of the best episodes with a very important message at the end.. that still have value today and probably will be always. Why can't we all just get along. Too much hate in this day and age. We see it too many times..
Well, I could not help to chuckle and laugh heartily this entire episode. Of course there was an undertone of the fitting in not fitting in ...the expressions of Hoss when he thought a leprechaun was returning his "you-who" calls but instead it was Little Joe imitating in the same way his response to Hoss....Little Joe's expression and his goffle of heartiful laughter certainly made me laugh harder. And the injuenity and teamwork of those Leprechaun's to bring down over six feet tall, strong Hoss was another hoot and holler. Oh and let us not forget when the ENTIRE Cartwright family finally believe Hoss and quickly decide to stop the exodus of the leprechauns from their campsite..without guns...I might add...some more ingenuity from the leprechauns is applied to all four Cartwright's...so funny even though in the end The Cartwright's stopped the leprechauns escaping with the wagon being pulled by a team of ***miniature*** horses! 😂 The last two acts are very memorable with Hoss turning over the townsfolk to give a" warm" welcome without any heckling, teasing laughter....The moral of this episode covers the big and small dilemma being ironed out in honest discussions when the entire group visits Sheriff Kofey's jail house. TVM for showing this episode!

Absolutely one of my favorite episodes from one of the greatest television shows to have been produced. This was the great thing about television and a lot of the films from those days. They always had a moral to the story that was relevant. It's ironic that in 1963 we were talking about including people who are different and today there are still people fighting to not include people who are different. I guess things and people don't really change just the names and the faces.

Perfect background music, to hear Mendelssohn's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" throughout the entire episode, with all the fast running and quick moves by the men in green, ambushing and clobbering Little Joe, and how fast he got up each time. What amazing speed and agility they all had!
Thank you for identifying the music. It's been bugging me for quite some time. I knew the music but just couldn't identify it. So appropriate for this episode.
I was 8 years old when this originally aired. I think we'd just gotten our first color television set, so I wonder if THAT made the episode more memorable to me. My father used to love to watch Bonanza.
One of my favorite episodes! Actually, I think its #1!!! Having some Irish in the family, and a whole lot of blarney, I think it's the most memorable for all of us kids...at least 9 of us anyway!😉😉👍💚💚💚
Man, I sure did need a downright side-splitting laugh! This is the kind of episode that make the whole series great! Again, as always, it's Hoss with the big heart - and the message was timely. I would think this must have aired sometime close to St. Patrick's Day.
I dimly remember as a kid being a little disappointed they weren't real. Favorite child book was the mystical ' Mig O' the Moor' which I purchased recently for a grandchild. Children loved the Irish lore back in those days.
@@jimthorp234 thanks for the history w/this episode. Laughter makes the heart lighter. I was 13 at the time of Kennedy, tho we had no TV and all I do is enjoy the reruns I find. Loving this Bonanza series- so wholesome family values and truths.
Bonanza was ahead of it’s time because one of the recurrent themes of the show is the Cartwright’s effort to preserve the beauty of their land. Preservation of the wilderness could not be more relevant in today’s world. Another common theme is the importance of family. The disintegration of the family is a major problem that lies at the core of modern society’s problems, so this too is a relevant theme. The underlying moral of this episode is a lesson on prejudice, specifically a reminder that dwarfs deserve respect like everyone else. The show often teaches a moral lesson, something few shows today do. On top of all this, Bonanza is highly entertaining and the acting always top quality. I’m so grateful UA-cam keeps this show alive for generations that otherwise would never have seen it.
I laughed hard myself. Not because the little folk were so little but because they ran circles around the Cartwrights and made them look silly. The actors probably had a lot of fun doing this show. Very different from most of their rather serious topics.
This was a very good episode of Bonanza .. My grandparents used to love watching these types of tv shows .. Best enjoyed lounging in bed at night with a snack and something good to drink ..

This episode from Bonaza: Hoss & The Leprechauns is perfect to watch on St. Patrick's Day ☘️🍀☘️🍀.
Was a teenager when I saw this. Laughed so hard. Best remembered episode. I'm 68
That was an awesome speech that Hoss gave the townspeople to help the Little People fit in. 👏👍
we need more people like Hoss, to stick up for others that are different.
Good laughter, medicine for your soul.
"Bonanza" is a best series in my Young time. Greetings from Poland.
This episode came with a good message, still good today.
Awesome to hear that, thanks for tuning in! 🤠👌🎬🍿
This was the funniest Bonanza episode ever. I loved 😍 it.
What a powerful message! Sadly this kind of lecture, still in year 2023, needs to be repeated, over and over , even in most advanced countries!
This episode and the one with the rabbits are my two favorite episodes
One of my favorite episodes!
Actually, I think its #1!!! Having some Irish in the family, and a whole lot of blarney, I think it's the most memorable for all of us kids...at least 9 of us anyway!😉😉👍💚💚💚
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching! 🤠👌🎬🍿
yes there were nine of us too.
Man, I sure did need a downright side-splitting laugh! This is the kind of episode that make the whole series great! Again, as always, it's Hoss with the big heart - and the message was timely. I would think this must have aired sometime close to St. Patrick's Day.
Thank you for the
heartwarming story!🙂
I dimly remember as a kid being a little disappointed they weren't real. Favorite child book was the mystical ' Mig O' the Moor' which I purchased recently for a grandchild. Children loved the Irish lore back in those days.
It came out just before Christmas, 1963. It was only one month since the assassination of President Kennedy and was felt the nation needed a laugh.
@@jimthorp234 thanks for the history w/this episode. Laughter makes the heart lighter. I was 13 at the time of Kennedy, tho we had no TV and all I do is enjoy the reruns I find. Loving this Bonanza series- so wholesome family values and truths.
I've watched Bonanza since I was a kid. Always enjoyed it. And yes I do remember seeing this episode. It had the family in stitches. 🤣🤣🤣
I didn't think Landon or Blocker could make such high-pitched noises
Hoss was and is my favorite!!!
One of the more strangely memorable episodes of Bonanza. I was just thinking of it a few days ago after watching one of your other postings. Thanks!
My wife thought this was the funniest thing ever. She laughed herself silly. I miss my little soulmate.
God bless you and your wife who is with our Lord.
Very sorry for your loss. Same here, 6 years ago. Mine liked Air Wolf and The A Team.
Your loving memory keeps her alive 🙏
I laughed hard myself. Not because the little folk were so little but because they ran circles around the Cartwrights and made them look silly. The actors probably had a lot of fun doing this show. Very different from most of their rather serious topics.
@@private15 The great part about Bonanza is there was always some angle of humor and they would put in a tear jerker scene or two.
That's Funny I don't care who you are......Great Episode
