I second the previous comment about your tips. I’m learning so much valuable information than when I first picked up weaving a couple years ago. The videos I watched back then made weaving such a looong tedious process that by the time I’d warped my Cricket, my back was screaming and I couldn’t start my project for several days. The video I was watching did the cover any of the things you advised. This time around I’m going to have fun without the pain and frustration. 🙏🏽
As I watched this I wanted to ask why my heddles fall forward.. then you addressed that very thing! I continually learn so much from and appreciate your videos. Thank you! Suzette
Thank you, this video is very clear and helpful. I was beginning to think I was doing something wrong but it looks like it's just a little harder for me to move the ratchet at the back. I haven't used the table loom for many years so maybe it just needs to be lubricated.
I love your videos-I am about to take a scarf project off my 15 inch cricket and don't know what to do with the couple of inches of loose waste at the end before I start removing it from the loom. Any suggestions of how to deal with the waste. You don't have any and probably I didn't need to either.
Hi! New subscriber here. I am looking to purchase a loom, as I fall deeper into the fiber rabbit hole. Lol. Advice for me. I would like a lapsize loom that can advance with me. Like maybe adding another heddle. Not sure. I hope this makes sense.
Tripinfallz You can add a heddle to the schact flip, but that is more of a table loom. Ashford, I believe has double heddle capability. You can add a heddle to a Cricket, but it will be fiddly as there is no seat for a second one. You can do a lot with pick up sticks, like waffle weave, without a second heddle. I would get at least a 15” for your lap, as a smaller loom doesn’t make much. I have the Cricket 15” and am having fun with it, but see a larger table loom in my future. For lap work, this is a wonderful size. Any bigger and it won’t sit well on your thighs. The cross bar is not effective for sitting across your lap when you have a long warp as it is in the middle and the weight tips the front up, so the long ends need to sit on your thighs.
the most succinct and clear instruction i have run across. thank you for being a patient teacher.
Oh, wow! Very helpful information!! You are such a great teacher!! Thanks!
Thank you so much. Your videos are very useful and concised!
You offer little tips I haven’t seen anywhere else! So appreciated.

Me again, can the ratchet be lubricated? I haven't seen anything online about this.
