THANK YOU! finally someone that explained this clearly. Very valuable video!
I really appreciate hearing that from you Aaron. Thank you Thank you Thank you, appreciate it ❤️
@@SamanthaDika I truly appreciate that information. Shipping is one of the things I have been struggling with the most to grasp the concept of. You've clarified another of information other UA-camrs have failed to explain well. Keep up the great content 😊
Awesome, practical video. Appreciate the time stamps down in the description as well
Very clear and focused on the exact topic. Thank you 🙏🏾
My pleasure Darling Bemnet.... let me know if there are other areas I can help
I'm a new seller on Esty I didn't know how to caculate shipping cost, thank you for this turtorial.
Hi,I have a question, let say I charge for the shipping of one cup $3, and suddendly a customer when he orders he buys 10 cups, then when he pays I assume the computer will put only $3 automatically? So this way I will be losing money, because what I really should be charging for 10 cups , $30 in shipping. Could you explain me what happens when customer buys many products and how much will be the shipping cost? Thank you so much
Did you ever get an answer? I'm trying to find out too. In addition, what if you sell multiple varieties of items, such as t shirts, jewelry, and tote bags, how does it work then??
If you weigh the cup and put that on your shop that way the shipping will calculate however many is bought and calculate the overall shipping
Hi there, thank you so much for your helpful sharing. Appreciate your effort to help to clarify below enquiries:-
1. Is that compulsory to use shipping label provided by Etsy?
2. If we use local courier service to ship internationally, do we just need to have the consignment note provided by the courier service?
3. How to update in Etsy that our parcel is shipped out without using their shipping label?
Thanks in advance solving my doubts ! Much appreciated ;)
TIME STAMPS ( Jump-To-Section) IN DESCRIPTION BOX 📌
Where are the time stamps, could they please be pinned to the top?
Here is attempt at time stamps:
02:06 Have an idea of what you are going to be shipping/selling.
02:41 Weigh the product!
03:36 Messure the product dimensions - height, width, depth
04:32 Contact your couriers/shipping agents for price charts
05:41 Average cost for different regions
07:23 Compare and select
10:11 Three things to consider when choosing your shipping agent:
[_] Time delivery takes
[_] Cost of shipping
[_] Home delivery option
12:19 Use light weight padding like bubble wrap and add the cost of your packaging materials…. record your costs to determine what those costs are for you.
(I reuse all these light weight paddings or give them to the local shipping store to protect the environment and save us all on costs. I also reuse packaging and write on the packages sent out, “recycled packaging for a better world”, which works well for shipping clothing and other things we are giving a new home to/repurposing.)
@@louisegogel7973 …. I don’t understand your message Louise- as you are replying to the TIME-STAMPS post that clearly states that they are in the description box.
Chose your video because you seemed genuine and helpful and indeed I was correct. Thank you so much!
well explained thank you,, offering shipping services requires these skills.
One of the best shipping videos! Thank you so much!
@@SamanthaDika you’re so welcome and you gain a new Sub! Keep up the great work 💕
Hi Samantha, hope you are well. if you don't mind I've a small question to you. I'm a craft supplier on etsy so is it important to set up free shipping tool on my shop? again'' I'm not physical product supplier. also etsy suggested me it, for priority on search result. Looking for your nice advice.
Love you so much !!!
Hi Harun, do you mind saying which kind of products you supply ? I thought craft supplies are physical products? Sorry I’m a little confused
@@SamanthaDika I only supply graphic design bundle and single. My product is only digital download file.
Love you for your nice ask!
@@m.a.harunharun7730 I think it’s possible and good for you to use a FREE-SHIPPING profile since you do not need to ship any products. It makes no difference to you, so just make it free shipping in the settings
thank you for this information!
Yes. I hate trying to figure out shipping. I want to start Live-Sales but everything is different sizes & weights
so how do I figure out shipping?
You can have different items under different shipping profiles (and you can set different shipping prices on each shipping profile)
I’ve been doing updated shipping tutorials, I hope you will check those out too as they will be explaining this stuff in greater detail
Thank you Samantha, so nice advice!
Any Advice for shipping crafts from UAE to internaional, I want to open etsy store and need ad advice!!
There are quite a lot of shipping companies… if we Google “international shipping companies in UAE” we see a list, get the list and start calling them one by 1 getting the prices then compare prices.
thank you. what about if the customer buys a few items. will price be the same.
Hi Jayla, The price remains the same and in this case you will make extra money from the shipping contribution = More Profit for you😀
@@SamanthaDika Can you go into more detail on your response please. Also, What do you think about offering free shipping or discounted shipping? How can I offer free shipping and not lose profit. For example, if someone orders 5 t-shirts, two tumblers, 1 necklace, etc., that's over 13 oz and therefore has to be shipped as priority mail instead of first class. That can add up to a lot of money to ship free. How do you set up a profile for this? I noticed a lot of seller’s charge shipping for selling 1 t-shirt, but after that shipping is free. How can they do that especially after 13 or 16 ounces, it switches to Priority mail which is ever more expensive. I just don’t get it.
Hey hun, I've just shipped something over to Dubai 4 days ago. I have no idea when my fiancè will get the parcel. Have you ever shipped out anything from the UK. Which company did you use and why and how long did it take to arrive? 🤭 one last thing, should I ship or send by air next time?
@@tessshergill3704 I haven’t used them before. Please let me know how long they take to deliver so I consider them too in the future
There's a website that she can sign up fo and they will give her an address in Miami. So when you ship the product it goes to Miami address then ships to her address in less time. So far I've seen it for the Caribbean. But Dubai shouldn't be any different but research Google and see. I forgot the names of the websites they are different ones.
This is genius!! Thank you very much!
Wanted to clarify, if I have an online store on shopify, and wanted to offer free shipping to the customers but still include the shipping cost in the product price to cover the international shipping expenses, how would u calculate the shipping into the product price if it depends on various factors, also locations? 😭 would an average shipping cost work?
Hi Diana, I’m sorry I missed your message earlier; I didn’t get a notification about it -
I think you can have the average (domestic) shipping price into all your products then the (average) difference between domestic and international shipping costs is what you charge to your customers, that way the shipping fees remain as low as possible.
I’ll be releasing updated shipping tutorials which I will use to explain these things in greater detail and I hope you’ll be able to come back and catch those too 💕
Just want to find out which company you got that list from because none other the courier companies I approached wanted to give me that
Can you give me an idea on the cost to the uk if the parcel weighs 300grams?
It depends on where you are sending from and the courier service that you will be using.
i want to sell something that is heavy and will ship out in 5 seperate BOX sections , each one weighing aprox 22 pounds each box.. Am i going to be charged much more because of the 5 individual boxes as compared to just one large box ?
I’m always confused about who has to pay the shipping cost? The buyer or the seller ?? Because when we buy something online we pay for the shipping, and when we sell products online we also pay for the shipping! I’m about to start my small business and I’m so confused 😐 any help please 🙏
Someone has to pay for shipping - it’s not free. So you either factor it in the product price or you charge the buyer. Either way … the shipping costs will be there and need to be paid.
i drop ship electronic, i don't know the weight, the box sizes are oversize, yet they charge cheap shipping.
how do i find rates per regions?
How do I manage my taxes, fees and cover myself and customers legally or from the legal stuff.
Hey Chris .... if you are using Etsy... Etsy will deduct them from you and you don’t have to worry... if you haven’t already.... check out this PRO’s and CON’s video that I did... I get in details about this ua-cam.com/video/dSapLsmgYDQ/v-deo.html
@@SamanthaDika brilliant I'll check it out. Thanks.
The main thing I need to know is what worries do I need to get out of the way or cover legally. I dont want to get a legal call when I'm on a roll because I didnt cover myself by paying fees etc
@@lukeunknown2626 100%
It’s worth finding out based on the country you’re in but here in UAE 🇦🇪 Etsy takes the taxes from our bill every month end.
I'm only confused about the weight part. Am I calculated the weight of the packaging without the actual item? I know how much it'll weigh without my products but I just want to make sure I'm doing it right. Thanks!
Will the shipping change for them if they buy multiple of the same product? Because obviously I don't know ahead of time how much they will buy per listing so I can't put the weight for 5 keychains if let's say they only buy one.
Hi Kirstie, the ideal thing to do is to weigh your package with the product in it.
@@KirstieBasford … yes, you don’t know how much the customer will buy but the more they buy the better because shipping companies charge less as the weight increases. Ask your courier “what is the lowest weight they charge”… where I am they start at 500g so please find out what the lowest weight they charge you for is then let me know and I will help you from there
@@SamanthaDika ok thank you so much for the quick response! I will try that out and see how it works. Thanks again!
