Hi everyone, as one of the judges for the competition, I’d like to make a clarification.
First of all, I personally think the students who participated are all extremely talented. They have so much potential and will go very far. It was so challenging for the three of us to come up with the three winners.
Now, the judgement was based on two songs each from each band. In this video, there’s only one song shown for most bands, particularly two of the winners. I feel most of the comments here are from those that weren’t there physically.
Our judgement was based on the overall performance of BOTH songs and not just one. I really want to clarify this :) this video shows only one for Bethesda and Model.
Having said that, Patkai was absolutely brilliant right from their online audition clip.
And it was so so close in the final as well with another band. Just 1-2 marks difference. We really had to take our time and we also felt sorry that we could chose just three.
While also respecting your views and opinions, I hope you all understand that there was more to the contest than what is seen here in the video. I can say in confidence that all three of us were extremely unbiased and did our best. We apologise if we’ve hurt anyone.
And in every competition, unfortunately there will have to be some that wins and loses. The great thing about music though is that there’s more to it than competition.
This is my message to all that didn’t make it : We are sorry that we had to choose only three and I’m sure you’re all heartbroken. Please continue working on your craft. Music above everything, is about expressing yourself regardless of what people think.
There is a place for all of you in the world. This is just the start, you have a long and bright future. I believe in all of you.

You all should be kind while commenting. These are all students, and they really put up a good show. Maybe it was not perfect for you, but all of them did their best. It's not easy to perform on stage, live. I think all of them performed exceptionally well.
We should be proud of them instead. They're being creative and active by participating. im sure, soem of them will becosme great bands and singers.. Be kind and encouraging.❤

Unbiased opinion: Judges would’ve done better with 2nd and 3rd place. I thought the one who sang ‘bed of roses’ deserved a place in the winner list. Judges will see this video and reconsider their judgment.

As a Patkai Alumnus of 2009,our college never failed to produce awesome musicians and singers. I'm saddened to see that my former college students didn't even beg a title. Never get discouraged juniors,you guys did it awesome,keep rocking and keep playing.
I think the judges had a hard time to pick up the winners 😂. Trying their best to come up wuth genuine result ❤❤❤ The 1st winner deserved it with their Clean management. Refer to this comment as a constructive comment ❤.What a wonderful kids. All of you are great. The band with the best sound and tone management won. Kudos to the cry for you europe band. So clean thats what people see. Not how much notes you play but how you execute your touch and cleanliness. They deserve. Other guitars tone if improve its gonna be wonderful.
I'm the Judge and yes it was hard for us to decide the winner they are all talented and yes this is only the beggening remember a wise man said "Participating is better than winning"..
The guitarist was the best and the keyboardist was okay too. However the vocalist was bad and his voice was not meant for rock song. He'll good if he sing secondhand serenade type song but his voice is not really for rock song. The first band and the band that sang a traditional song had great vocals

Let’s be honest, after seeing every band’s performance, we won’t be lying to say that Patkai band deserved a win. Organisers should invite unbiased judges next time. I’m sure these kids and every audience are disappointed with the result. Congratulations to the winners and to everyone who didn’t win, don’t lose heart, keep going for there’s a lot of opportunity on the horizon.
Yeah the 1st winner is okay but the 2nd must be patkai yaar. The music is so twang twang for the 2nd and 3rd winners. Tones are not proper. Patkai and winner cry for you are deserving❤

Why no individual prizes for these promising youngsters? Through the individual prizes they would have gotten more motivated. Even if it was 500 that’s more than enough because they made a name for themselves😀 just my opinion actually. Kudos to the winners and to all that didn’t win, I’m sure it’s hard processing it but at the end of the day, there is always room for improvement 😊
And personally I really liked the energy the instrumentalists of the 1st band,The Cry for you and the Bed of roses band gave, didn’t know we had these many good instrumentalists in our state🙌

The winner deserved well.. I watch the performance through out and predicted the winners right.. Being said, the guys singing "Bed of roses" are the band that comea close to to them.. It is just my humble opinions... Congratulations to the winners and all the band, being able to stand in such stage is also a success..

One of the judges Moanunsang is a legend. Arguably the best rock vocalist ever from Nagaland, one of the pioneers of bringing the genre to the forefront. The first Naga Idol. If you don’t know him or his work, then you’re not in a position to talk about music scene in Nagaland.
The other two judges, two ‘pop’ artists you’re mentioning have played some of the biggest music festivals in the country. They have done multiple India tours with their own music in an era where people are still doing cover music in Nagaland. They’re not your karaoke/backing track singers. They’re proper live artists who have their own band with huge live production. They are top notch artists but even more, top professional LIVE musicians with tons of national and international experience. Real artists who play their own music and represent Nagaland in the biggest stages.
These three are MORE THAN capable to judge a small school level band contest.
It’s okay to not agree with the decision but it’s not okay to bring them down without knowing who or what they are.

I was there and the judges did what they had to do. All the bands was given two songs to perform and they can't judge based on only one song . Patkai bed of roses song was performed quite well but we as a audience too was not satisfied with the other song 😢

I dont know why everyone is shouting bed of roses but the "cry for you" third band deserve the winner,their guitar tone was really great and their music ,everything was clean and professional.i love that band..and in my view patkai made a mistake chosing the second song..

I was there to witness the show. All the students are very talented in their own ways, i really do agree with the decision of the judges as it was a very tough one to decide though i was rooting for PHSS.
