Thanks to Master and Commander for introducing me to Boccherini, whom I had not previously known.
Ditto!
Ditto!
I came here just cause it fit the ending so well...great song
Ditto. Lots'a love, cheers, & Mabuhay, from tropical Philippines!
The best part of the movie was Boccherini's, Passe Calle, depicted at the end, although I very much doubt that Russel Crowe or Paul Bettany were actually performing.
"Well Steven, the birds flightless?"
"Yes..."
"It's not going anywhere"
7:55
Wow. Du hast zitiert. Gratuliere.
Übrigens heisst es 'the bird is flghtless', also 'the bird's flightless'.
Not gonna lie, that's why we're all here
The thing that's so great about this choice of song. Is the the theme of that movie is that Steven needs to learn to appreciate Jack's worship of tradition and Jack needs to appreciate Steven's spirit of Enlightenment thinking. So they use a piece of music where the violin and cello switch parts. Perfect.
One of the best, most underrated movies of all time.

Boccherini was twenty years old musician and arrived Madrid with the brother ( Luis) of the new king ( Charles III was the new King of Spaniard empire coming from Napoles) and died in Madrid more than 40 years later. He never live in Italy again. This song was published in Valladolid after he died. The music is a compound of an ancient " Jota Castellana", called at that time " Fandango" ( Not the modern fandango)
Merci.

Hmm... I had the pleasure to hear wonderful street music in the squares of Spain and Italy. I thought that i witnessed the special bond that the latin countries have with music but now i think that i might be extremely lucky.
Viva Madrid y viva España!!! Gracias Boccherini !!!
Boccherini had a great appreciation for the music of the "common man", the music he heard in the streets and cafes of Madrid. The influence and echoes of it abound in many of his compositions. In this piece he pays tribute to many of its aspects. We have religious references, a military march, the music of blind beggars and street singers. With his great training and skills he dignifies this music while at the same time showing how the refined music of his day had its birth in the music of the streets.
That is the mark of divine grace. What is natural to man, raised up and perfected. The good, the true, and the beautiful.
Do you happen to know if these were danced? They seem like country dances.
. . . i really love his music and i thank you for the up-load...

Is there a problem if Master and Commander did bring some people here? It was a great film.
Guess not, but it seems music should speak for itself and not in the context of a "movie". But at least films might inspire people to get into a piece of music otherwise not discovered. Just feels cheap to me. The same as when people have monologues in youtube comments. No original content is all.

This canvas could be reproduced today. On the upper left edge is the dome of San Francisco el Grande, as it would be seen today. The bridge still lasts and corresponds to the exit from Madrid to Extremadura and Portugal. The grove is the Park or natural reserve of La Casa de Campo, former royal hunting ground, today a recreation park for Madrid residents (1700 hectares). Behind the body of men dressed in brown there are residential buildings (former residences of the US military, built after 1954). Behind the head of the man dressed in red would be the current entrance door to the Park. The back house still lives on and was the royal house of the Park guards, currently dignified, it was the place of the royal entourage. The court carried out the hunts. if the painting were stretched just the size of the frame on the left it would appear, at a height similar to the dome of San Francisco, the Royal Palace and the steep Jardines del Moro.
Imagine the size of that tree behind them if it still stands today. Someone should recreate the image to represent the modern times.
