The summer average temperature in the UK is 23 at best. It's not just red that gets used for hot temperatures, you'll see plenty of deep blues if winter temperatures are cold enough.
Didn't really expect anything else did you? It IS Glastonbury weekend after all I drove band's tour buses for 12 years back in the day, and out of those 12 years there were only two Glastonburys I ever enjoyed, one year when I didn't go and another year when it wasn't on.
Oh, I do hope it's the last hot day. It is so humid here as well. Rained early this morning - and the water hasn't even dried up under the trees. It's just sitting there on the fallen leaves.
In a few spots, mainly in the southeast, it's an official heatwave. For many others, temperatures haven't exceeded the thresholds for three consecutive days. I.e. it's not lasted long enough.
This hot weather does not suit the UK, although it is nice to not have rain and dull skies. I'd rather have Scandinavian weather - cool but clear sunny skies. At least it won't exhaust you with the humidity.
Yes we do need rain im jot complaining but , if you saying this is an unusually deep area of low pressure then thats class as freak weather. And not thunder storm weather wich is normal
Different climate regions. UK is further north and lives under the influence of a maritime climate due to its smaller island size - thus the average temperature is lower overall.
Look, I know it's not you personally, and the weather report itself I cannot fault, but how is it justified to represent 13 to 16 degrees with a brown/ orange hue? It's just more "global bioling" head games, and I'm sick of it
Met office is a joke.. i live 2 miles from the Exeter office and ive been sunbathing in the garden on a perfect summer day but their hourly forecast has said it was cloudy and raining where i am.. waste of money, cant even look out of their window to see what its doing 😂
That's bizarre, Exeter is showing up as sunny all day on the Met Office app on my phone. And, if you watch the video, you'll see that sunny skies are forecast for Devon all afternoon. Always best to check what we are saying in the videos, which are produced and presented by meteorologists, rather than the auto-generated apps before accusing us of not looking out of the window
@@metoffice it was a day last year... But generally it's never right! The only people who get the the weather right are farmers and little old ladies 😂

Because we generally associate red with hot whilst we associate blue with cold. 27 degree temperatures exceed the seasonal average too so the colours reflect that nicely.
Wow that map looked like hell on earth when it's just a little bit warm. I looked out of the window and the grass is still green, how can that be?
Hope it gets hot again soon. Be nice to have a proper summer. I'm sick of grey skies and endless wind.
"It's the last hot day untill the next one"....🤣. Why is anything over 24 degrees in red, mid-high 70's not exactly blisteringly dangerously hot.

I hate the heat tobe honest I'm glad it's getting a bit cooler
School ends for me tomorrow (I’m in Northern Ireland) and oh, look at that! An unseasonably deep area of low pressure, how typical!
Enjoy your holiday.
It'll soon become unseasonably 🙄

Hi Aidan. Please can you confirm if this is classed as an official heatwave? Or just a hot spell?

I loathe the heat, i loathe summer. I get Seasonal Affective disorder in summer i cant wait for it to rain and be cold again
Me too. The constant cries of “oh isn’t this lovely!” Drive me nuts - hot office, hot car, hot bedroom…

Absolute crooks. Red map for what. Shame on you sir.
We associate red with hot like we associate blue with cold. There was plenty of blue during the winter forecasts, it's nothing new.
Changes on the way then.
I'm glad haha
The British can feel the sun again, just like Somalia, Afghanistan, Pakistan...
