- EP77 - How we catch Perth Metro Yellowfin Tuna | Exploring Western Australia
In this episode the Frenchy, Achil and Shauno hit the Rottnest waters in search for our favourite fish the Tuna. In particular we want a nice big Yellowfin Tuna. #yellowfintuna #perthmetro
There were reports and we needed to head out with the Richter lures + 1 diver to get our hands on a few.
Our dreams came true when we get these beautiful fish to the deck especially at this size in the Perth Metro.
Enjoy this video and all the tips 🤞🏽

Nice work lads.
Was a good sesh mate, cheers
good ep mate, some stunning fish
Cheers ledge 🤞🏽
Get the young fella onto them.
He tried on the first snapper but had to hand the rod over to the adults. In the next episode he brings one in himself. :)
Sushimi 🤤🤤🤙
The best :)
What combo was frenchie using? 👍
Nice catch buddy. What side of Rottnest were you trawling on
Tuna move around a lot mate so we actually need to search for the signs on the water. These were caught South West of Rotto :)
go out to the south side and troll until you see a bust up and drop the lines in about 50 m away
good catch , is that an 8 m or 7 m leisure cat ?
Gamefisher 7000 mate 👍🏽
@@FishinWishinLife thanks . sweet boat
Great video. How far back do you generally have the 3 (2 skirts 1 diver) lures?
Distance I couldn’t tell you exactly but one skirt send it really wide. When you think you have let out enough send more. Clearly making sure it’s in the clear water not in the wake.
2nd skirt half way,
3rd deep diver is the closest to the boat but not in the wake or sitting angled just outside of it.
Hope that makes sense :) enjoy mate
@@FishinWishinLife legend. I've just got on to your channel. Loving the vids mate! Are there particular months / seasons best for trolling / tuna off Perth?
Appreciate the support mate. Now until Late April is best for nice sized Pelagics and ones which come in close. Wait for the window of weather and head out mate. Put the hours in look for the signs on the water and get some nice sashimi. Plenty of Bluefin around. Won’t be monsters but beautiful eating. Good luck and all the best to you 🤞🏽
That's sick to get the fish right at the boat and then lose it.
not our first choice but it happens haha
Hey Shaun its a Big Eye Tuna ??
Yellow fin have bigger dorsal fins ( sickle )
Hi mate, no mate big eye tuna have no signs of of vertical lines on their Belly. After the first few of these messages I got it confirmed again and again haha. It is most definitely a YFT.
@@FishinWishinLife Ok 👍 bloody hell they look the same… good catch all the same …
I had to triple check by the right people to check myself too bro haha you are not the first to ask me the same question haha 😂
@@FishinWishinLife I just had a good read up the lumps on the trailing end of the tail fin and longer from dorsal to to tail fin. …like I said good catch … 👍
Fuck you got all the sponsors! How do you manage to get so heavily sponsored?
