This video features my collection of HO or 1:87 scale military vehicles from World War II (WWII). Many of these are kits by companies like Alsacast or Trident, while others are made by diecast companies like Johnny Lightning or Matchbox. You'll see everything from Sherman Tanks and Half Tracks, to GMC 6x6 Two and a Half Ton Trucks and Scout Vehicles like the M8 Greyhound. Most of these vehicles were purchased from SmallScaleHobbies.com
The late 1930's and early 1940's were an interesting time in automotive history. Technology was moving so quickly which allowed for specialized vehicles to be produced at an alarming rate. When war broke out, auto manufactures like General Motors and Ford, soon found themselves building war machines instead of trucks and cars for the civilian market. For example, GMC would built the 6x6 cargo truck known as the deuce and half, while both Ford and Willys would be responsible for building the "Jeep". This video showcases just a small sample size of these vehicles of war that helped the US and particularly, the US ARMY bring home victory during the Second Great War.

the scout car is what the halftrack is based off of. the cars kept sinking in mud so the military made the halftrack

The priest name for the m7 self propelled gun got its name as the British name all their artillery after religious items
The additional sand bags added to Sherman for more protection actually decreased the effectiveness of the armor
The Russian had no influence in the sloping armor of the m36 and the m10 tank destroyers as they were developed independently to make a further point the Russians developed sloped armor at around the same time as the UK and Germany as the Matildas and the panzers 1 through 4 all had some degree of slope to their front armor as well as the earlier prototype German tanks and the vicars tanks produced in the 1920s
