This performance on American Bandstand is one of greatest in R&R history, Jerry was really smoking. He maybe received 5 grand for this performance and he put everthing he had into it.

This is the soundtrack to my life. I sing it at the top of my voice still at 69 years old.
WW2 music and 50's and 60's music will never be topped. So pure and happy. Sinatra and Beatles and Elvis and Beach Boys and Judy Garland and Peggy Lee will never be topped.

What a buillshit! Jerry Lee Lewis never achieved in getting 500 000 pan letters about his performance. Elvis did in 1956 after his appearance in Milton Berle Show with Hound Dog. Adults wrote to Milton Berle 'Uncle Miltie we never see you tv show again. Are you not ashamed to show the raskal on tv swinging and jiving his body, it is disgusting" Because of that appearance of Elvis it was not allowed for surely 1 year to show Elvis completely on tv only his chest, not his shaking legs anymore. I suggest you watch also his appearances in Ed Sullivan show. I have seen Elvis 5 times in the 70's and we were ripping the place apart! They had to hire a man called Joe Dvorac to shout at the end of the concert "Elvis has left the building" because if they didn't do that, we would still be there screamng for Elvis

I disagree. I think the two are quite similar in that regard. JLL might be a bit more hyper lol but they both get so into the music that it's palpable.

    Lyrics
Now if you love me please don't tease
If I can hold then let me squeeze
My heart goes round and round
My love comes a tumblin' down
    You leave me ah
    Breathless ah!
I shake all over and you know why
I am sure it's love honey that's no lie
Cause when you call my name
You know I burn like a wooden flame
    You leave me ah
    Breathless!
    Oh baby, oh crazy!
You're much too much honey I can't love you enough
It's alright to hold me tight
But when you love me love me right!
Ah come on baby now don't be shy
This love was meant for you and I
    Wind, rain, sleet or snow
I am gonna be wherever you go
    You have left me ah
    Breathless Ah!
    Well oh baby mmmmnnn crazy
    You're much too much
    I can't love you enough
Well it's alright to hold me tight
But when you love me love me right
Ah come on baby now don't be shy
This love was meant for you and I
    Wind, rain, sleet or snow
I am gonna be wherever you go
    You leave me ah
    Breathless ah!
