      There's no hip sway, which although subtle, has a big impact on how natural and efficient its gait can be. There's a few robots (no production models afaik) that have it, and you can really see the difference.

      Yeah, it's not exactly traditional programming when they just have thousands of these dogs in simulation (with as close to real world physics as possible) learning all of these things in parallel. The AI teaches itself through trial and error. They still have to do a bit of real world training, but not much. Apparently when you let AI write the reward functions for the simulation, instead of a human coder writing basic good job/bad job style functions manually, they learn way way way quicker, and the skill transfers to the real world really quickly. I've seen one trained that way, and from what I remember it pretty much instantly was able to be taken for a walk on an exercise ball, straight out of a virtual video game like environment to the real world, even when the human started deflating the ball, yanking on the leash etc. it didn't lose balance. It's really wild how quickly this is progressing. I think they are using similar methods for these robots which is why they say it only took 2 days.

    • @Astra2
      @Astra2 11 днів тому +8

      Not much programming, it's reinforment learning. Probably spent a thousand years learning that at 100,000x simulation speed.

    Optimus fell cause he got caught at some ladies handbag. I know Optimus is not optimised and intended for these kind of stunts (apples and oranges). Amazed to see the stability here.

      they can do many things, i saw elderly using these bots to carry groceries since they are ai bots they follow you wont lost their way and watching you just in case. i also saw videos where they use these to transport goods from down hill to shops at top of the mountain (all stairs no roads) at much cheaper rate than human workers. i guess it depends on who you are and what you do

      the military uses all kinds of robodogs, but they are not that different in principle, they cost more but can carry a lot more, faster, bulletproof (can shield if needed), and integrated with military ai instead
