  • The new junction between the A-2 dual carriageway and the AP-7 motorway in Castellbisbal allows movements between the A-2 (from Lleida) and the AP-7 in the Girona direction, which will be toll-free from 1 September 2021, and vice versa between the AP-7 (from Girona) and the A-2 in the Lleida direction. To this end, a new dual carriageway has been built with a dual carriageway section linking the municipalities of Sant Andreu de la Barca and Pallejá with those of Castellbisbal and Rubí, crossing the Llobregat River, the Rubí stream and the Adif railway tracks via the new Llobregat viaduct, as well as connecting with the C-1413a road from Molins de Rei to Vic.

The works consisted of the construction of two carriageways with two lanes in each direction, crossing the Llobregat river, the Rubí stream and the Adif lines (L.A.V. Madrid - Barcelona, Cercanías and Mercancías) by means of two viaducts, one in each direction.
The right-hand carriageway of the link road also crosses over the Barcelona-Girona branch of the AP-7 by means of an overpass, subsequently running parallel to the right-hand side of the AP-7 and finally connecting with the aforementioned motorway.
The approximate total length of the roads involved in the project is 6.5 km, with the trunk of the link motorway being 1 km long. The cross-section is made up of two carriageways with two lanes of three and a half metres each, outer verges of two and a half metres and inner verges of one and a half metres and outer berms of one and a half metres.
The project consists of several structures. The main one, the so-called "Llobregat viaduct", consists of two independent parallel structures of 874 and 836 metres respectively. These are two mixed structures with a variable depth of between 3.5 and 5 metres.
In addition, two overpasses and an underpass have been built to cross the roadway of the trunk of the Girona direction junction over the AP-7 and over the access road to the Roques Blanques cemetery, apart from the crossing of the C-1413a road.
The environmental restoration and landscape integration of the entire project area has also been carried out. Specifically, the restoration of the area around the Llobregat river and the Rubí stream, the environmental integration in the area of contact with the Parc de Collserola and the restoration and integration of the different earth deposits executed.
