Any reason why Malcolm had two versions of this song in the intros (one normal and one sped up)?

@@IbukiMiodaa24 there is two versions of the What we did this summer version , the one you heard in this video is the original and there's another one with a different vocal ( performed by John Flansburgh too ) , for the show ( sorry if my english is bad )
maybe not sped up, I guess just performed under a different tempo?

@@worstperson2ask That version weirdly isn't actually in this video. It's easily identifiable by going straight into "you're not the boss of me now, and you're not so big" with the first chorus line. It's like a halfway point of the 2nd version in this vid and the one for the rest of the show's run.

If i'm not mistaken, number 4 was only used once in Malcolm in the Middle. Series 1 Episode 1. All sudsequent episodes used the "What We Did This Summer" version.

And the instrumental version is the end credit theme
The main version from the show has the same instrumental as the What We Did Last Summer version, but the voice recording is different.
We need a mini dicumentary on when which one was released why it was made, the differences in arrangements, instrumentalization, etc.

I listened to all versions now and I can say that none of the versions in this video are used in the show. At first, you'd think that the 4th version was used in the pilot and in the second episode but when listenting to them side by side you can see that the "life is unfair" part is different. The one in the video got reverb and its enuciated differently. And the version that is used in the rest of the show also isn't in this video. For the 5th one in the video the beginning of the song "yes no maybe" sounds "lazy" (I can't think of a better word right now). The "no" is elongated and the "maybe" sounds kind of cut off compared to the version used in the show. In the version used in the show the "yes" sounds more energetic and the no is shorter.
You are probably right, the versions used in the show might have slight adjustments to versions featured in this video. However, high quality source audio for any those versions doesn't exist, therefore it is not in the video.

That's an annoying amount of versions and none of them sound like the TV version. Someone in this band has really bad OCD for sure.
