Great music should be mixed down. Often in music backing poetry. The mix favors the music. It should be as my buddy BE Bop Bill Young the master jazz drummer said, the musician is supposed to make the poet sound good.
Currently in the middle of my "Road Trilogy" Started with "On The Road" now in middle of "Electric Kool Aide Acid Test" and finishes with "Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas". They are, of course connected by characters and the road.
Yes! You know what goes well together? Bitches Brew and Howl. Approximately the same length. Very creepy and affecting. I suppose i could upload that myself but im a surfer, never actually uploaded anything...

Try listening with ear phones, it may be clearer... Yes I agree in places Jack sits low in the mix. In my defense my first few Volumes I wasn't really thinking on a technical level. I practically threw them together. I promise the production gets better as I evolved through the Volumes...Appreciate the feed-back all the same.

He privately expressed a lot of remorse over the treatment of his children in the last years of his life. He was a troubled man with a mind too brilliant to truly understand.
Oh my gosh this tune is fantastic I don't have to mention Kerouac in another universe I'm going to have to check out cannonball again thank you for posting this
Well this is Jack Kerouac……he invented it. The hippies hi-jacked it……..then the whole meaning was lost………with the possible exception of early Tom Waits.
Jack writes what your soul can’t express
Everybody needs a bit of Jack Kerouac, I love the playfulness of his work. Fantastic.

It's good music but it's mixed too loud when playing while JK recites
I'm glad someone else mentioned the fact that the music is a little bit too loud I thought maybe my hearing was starting to go

Wish Jack recited a bit slower. Too much nostalgia looking back melancholy for this humbler servant of the word
Didn't Jack make it to San Miguel De Ayende?
The music is too loud. Hard to hear Kerouac over it.

Cannonball Adderley - Autumn Leaves
Neal was a deadbeat dad, thief, and speed freak. Hip Cat.
He privately expressed a lot of remorse over the treatment of his children in the last years of his life. He was a troubled man with a mind too brilliant to truly understand.
He had 2 wives, kept both satisfied

Why does tthis feel more like a essay then a poem? Is this just the style of kerouac?
It's prose style poetry, not rhymes.
I keep saying this, but - No one reads Jack like Jack.
What song is that?
"Autumn Leaves" by Cannonball Adderley
Oh my gosh this tune is fantastic I don't have to mention Kerouac in another universe I'm going to have to check out cannonball again thank you for posting this
The only person who should be allowed to read Kerouac is Kerouac.
Hate to break it to you neo-hipsters, but you could put any words in front of that music and it would sound pretty damn good.
You could put deez nuts on your chin and they'd look pretty good too.
False
Well this is Jack Kerouac……he invented it. The hippies hi-jacked it……..then the whole meaning was lost………with the possible exception of early Tom Waits.
Give it a crack then champ
Is a dig at hipsters,or a compliment.?
Difficult to hear him reading over the jazz unfortunately on this one
