  • After forty years of wandering, the Israelites were finally ready to enter the Promised Land. The book of Deuteronomy can be organized around three messages Moses gave while the Israelites waited to enter the land. With the key word of this book being covenant, Deuteronomy speaks of the special relationship God established with His people.
This teaching is from our series The Bible from 30,000 Feet - 2018 with Skip Heitzig from Calvary Church.

I sat down and read Deuteronomy in its entirety and really felt the Holy Spirit’s presence as I did so. God has been so merciful to all of His followers throughout the ages. I couldn’t help tearing up many times reading that scripture.

These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

Before we become BELIEVER'S we were carnal minded, at enmity towards God. But now, we HAVE the mind of Christ. As heirs to the promises of Abraham, this is our Promise Land... The mind of Christ. Our responsibility is to take possession of this land. To drive of the inhabitants. Fear, unbelief, doubt.... these are the inhabitants of the carnal mind. Drive them out & take possession of the mind of Christ, our Promise Land. BELIEVE what the sacred text says to us & about us. This is our rest. This is our victory. Amen

To elude what you said at the 25:00 mark, I've said it so many times. You can't use the Bible like a buffet table just because a certain scripture fits your narrative for the moment. I know some church folks who speak strongly against homosexuality while popping babies from various wombs. Then, have the audacity to bring up Leviticus to condemn LGBT's to Hell. Sometimes it would get so intense that it sounds like I'm condoning homosexuality, which I'm not. It just frustrates me how when the topic of sin comes up, that is the one sin everyone attacks. A fornicator will literally bring up 1 Cor. 6 to an adulterer or gay person and totally skip THEIR part. lol Picking and choosing parts of the Bible that fit their own narrative to judge another person. I don't understand that logic.

Homosexually goes against the order of God's original plan which is to fill the earth ....SIN IS SIN in the eyes of God but the reason homosexually is very dangerous is cause it will reduce the multiplication of His people. I'm not defending other sins but I just wanted to put it across as to why it's a more dangerous sin. Sexual immorality in general (fornicators, adultery, polygamy etc)is sin against our own bodies which are the temple of God. We can't have God in a sinful Temple now can we?
