Eddie got the single most skilful score I have ever seen . It was in Thurles at a league match between ourselves and Tipp. He was chasing Tadhg O Connor, who was soloing along the sideline and as he was hopping the ball Eddie intercepted it and somehow held it dead on his hurl , then turned around and without putting the ball nto his hand threw it up and stuck it right between the posts from the sideline and over fifty yards out. Tadhg O Connor stayed looking at him for the most of a minute with his mouth open. Eddie , and Ollie Walsh RIP , were my two greatest hurling heroes of that generation. I agree with Eddie's remarks about RTE , they treat hurling as if it was a foreign game, and in every interview there was a calculated disrespect for Brian Cody., but he stuffed them every time with another sweet victory.
I saw two scores not unlike that. One was in a classic Oireacthas Semi Final in '71 in Limerick. Jim Treacy was coming out from the City end, near the old Hogan Stand, with the Sliotar hopping on his hurley, when Andy Dunworth, RIP, neatly cut the cut the Sliotar off his stick and over the bar- a classic score- and LK won by a point. The other was in the replayed Under 21 Munster Final of '02 in Thurles, when Kevin Tobin did something similar, it was from around fifty yards out, but directly in front of the goal.
Had an unfortunate habit of spitting in the face of his direct opponent. These lads seem to have no idea of how much Kilkenny are disliked. Not because they won so much but how they won them.
I know they make him well in Kilkenny but Eddie looks like he could still hurl a bit. He's right of course about the madness of hurling now being over till next February. Worse than madness. It's an abomination

One of the greats. Him, Ollie Walsh, Tom Walsh, Noel Skeehan and the gang. Eddie was the AIB branch manager in Carlow when I grew up around there.
What a great player Eddie Keher was , in my top 3 of all time with my own County men Martin Quigley and Tony Doran !!
Eddie is the perfect role model
Yeah, if you're a hurling neanderthal zombie.
Go get another booster, Alexa 🤖😂.
Totally agree with Eddie about RTE
The hotel was Opperman’s Hotel and Country Club, Enniskerry.

Our " National" station is run by a bunch of " West" Brits who for years cringe at anything to do with Irish culture especially our National games....
