Ah, the good old Tornado ADV with it's 'Blue Circle' concrete ballast in the nose as the radar took so long to develop. Pilots were quoted as saying that it was like dogfighting in a double-decker London bus :)

I've been listening to your books on audible, amazing work. Now I find you have a UA-cam channel full of awesome aviation videos. Thank you so much for sharing your passion with others.
Great documentary footage! Does anybody recognize the track which is being played during Mirage 2000 presentation? Updated: Also interested in track during F-15 presentation. Updated#2: Never mind, found them.
"The F-18's massive fuel load...."WTF! The lack of unrefuelled range of early F-18 models was the single biggest flaw of the aircraft! This was only overcome by the E-and F-models which were enlarged by 25% compared to early models A-D. Fun Fact: the Soviets copied this mistake with the Mig-29, which was notoriously short-legged and later corrected it with the MiG-35.
I’ve literally just read War for the Hell it - Ian Coblach (sic) who flew F4s from Thailand during the Vietnamese War. Thanks again Sir from Liverpool 🇬🇧🗽☘️📚⚽️👍🏴
@@mikeck4609 Nice one Sir, I thought it married up poetry and prose almost perfectly with death and their unique view of that dreadful war, best wishes from Liverpool 🏴☘️⚽️🗽📚👏

They were said to appreciate its many modes. Specifically its look down shoot down capability amongst clutter

The amount of fuel it could carry wasn't the problem... It's the consumption. The legacy hornet did carry a massive fuel load.
the F-4 Phantom is a beautiful and lethal bird still

* Cobleigh. A particularly prosaic biography and as nearly everything I’ve yet read regarding this appalling War a revelatory read, thanks again Sir.
Always great to hear from my favorite Scouser. Cheers, mate!
