got that right budd, i ride red and my old 01 350 fourtrax has never ever let me down or left me stranded. never been towed home, and all I do is mud and a bit of trail riding.
Well, when we ride, we ride in bottoms. If i rode more trails than bottoms, then I would go with the Mud Trax. They will probably last longer than the Zillas and are not as aggressive as the Outlaws. If you are concerned about the weight and power loss, then go with the Zillas. They are lighter. I hope this helps. Oh yeah, Check out the Mega Mayhem. Great looking tire. Never used them or rode with anyone with them but they look great!
You are right about that. The honda is supposed to be the same way with the brake. I wish Honda would put a diff-lock on their atv's. If they can put a front and rear lock on their Big Ugly... I mean Big Red then they can do it on the atv's. I was tires of videoing but he did finally make it out.
snorkel, that is the #1 thing I do before I ride a new atv. However, my riding style requires that. Not that I always plan on hitting deep water holes but sometimes you just don't know how deep a hole will be. For me better safe than sorry. If you don't have a snorkel kit, you just have to be selective & careful about the mud holes you take on.We ride with a lot of guys that dont snorkel. Die electric grease is great around electrical connections too. Always clean your atv & WD40 it after muddn.
I love the transmission on my honda my TRX420 is automatic and electric shift when your on the trails i use auto but when you hit the mud i use ES i find the transmission works a lot better. Also no belts on a honda :)
I have a friend who loves them. I don't care for them. They wear too fast. They are however true to size if not a little taller than they claim.... which is a good thing. At least you get what you pay for. Most after market tires are not true to size and are shorter than they claim.
Yeah, you should be ok. One more thing, Is your atv an automatic or a manual shift? If it is a belt drive (automatic) then you will need to snorkel the intake and and exhaust to the belt. Also, there are vent tubes that come out of your front (if 4wd) and rear differential. Not a bad idea to extend those. Keeps water out of the diff.
What type of riding do you do? Serious mud riding go with Outlaws (26x12x12). You can also ride some awesome water wheelies with the outlaws!! Lots of trail riding and mud, I love the Mud Trax (27x11). My brother runs them on his 420 2wd and they are awesome. Zillas (28x12x12) are nice too.
I would not go any bogger than 27's. Some people go 28. Consider the new Silverback Lite. I think it will be a great tire, easier on your atv and a little lighter. Outlaws are awesome though!
man those outlaws sure do demolish a mud hole don't they you should have asked the the dude on the red rancher with the swamplites on it to try it again after the dude with the outlaws dug it out;)
That is a really good atv. Are you referring to Kenda Executioners? If so, that are good pulling tires but they run small and are heavy. I would consider the Zillas. They are light and you will be able to turn them good. I would go with 27x 9 or10's on the front and 27x 11 or 12's on the back. A ot of people run 8 or 9" wide all the way around. I prefer a wider tire on the back. Check out the Silverback X-Lite and the Mud Trax.
The only thing I can think he is referring to about getting a 4wd is the fact that people call hondas 3wd's because the only have the limited slip axles and no diff-lock and you rarely ever have all four wheels turning at the same time. Usually the front tire in the air is the one spinning not the one on the ground. Thats my guess.
What type of atv do you have? There a lot of good kits on the market. I bought mine from Mud Industries. Very nice kit!! You can build your own but if you do not feel comfortable, then I would just buy a kit. It is so important to make sure that the intake is sealed solid. Also, if u have a belt drive, then seal the belt intake and exhaust. I too think extending the exhaust is a good idea on lower compression/ smaller cc bikes. That way if the motor dies then it will not suck in water.
I am getting a Honda rancher 420 2007 4x4 soon. What tires would you recommend for deep water and thick and I mean thick mud! Also would those Kendall exterminators do any good? Trying to keep on the not too expensive on this
Well, as I can see from some of your vids, you're in Tn? I live in Tn and if you know what trails in this state look like, they are rocky and muddy, and that is mostly what i ride in. So which is best?
The True Anonymous mudzilla would be pretty good but zilla would be an upgrade from stock but not anything in comparison to outlaw or silverback mudzilla would be a good option because theycride smooth
Of all the different types of fourwheeling, this one to me, just doesn't seem like a good time (filthy, hard on the bike, expensive tires axle upgrades etc..). Now I'm not trying to start a war, but is there more to muddin then this? every video I watch is some poor fella tuggin and pulling and working his bag off to churn through a sluthole at 0.25 mph lol. seriously tho, I'm not trying to talk down anyone, I just don't get it. I'd rather blaze a path around something like that. I ride a stock 420FM
were do you come from? my honda has 17 thousand k on it and my neighbours polaris has 6k and its motor has to be rebuilt lol... talk to any real mechanic around theyl tell you whats in the shop and whats not, my dads friend is a mechanic and has been for over 25 years and he told me himself to buy honda or can am if i want a bike to last, farmer down the road has a 450 foreman with 24 thousand.. id like to see a popo with that many on it and ask how many belts he went through to get there..
The honda atv i like the least would have to be the Rincon. Though I like the IRS, I really dislike the transmission. Probably ok for trail riding, but it sucks for mud riding. Also, the power is not impressive.
The one with the red rancher actually knows how to get through mud. The guy with the outlaws knows how to have fun.
We always have fun when we ride! Yeah, that thing was certainly done. Those 420's are tough!!
Regardless of what it is or what size, what matters is that you have a great time riding it and it works for you.
That looks like a lot of fun. We have dunes here in So Cal. I like the mud look!
that last one looked like one fun ride!!!
We had too much fun that day!! His fourwheeler was done after that hole...
Gotta love doing that solid axle Honda wobble
Ok thank you for the help! I like the Mud Trax a lot!
Anytime man. I like them a lot too!! Great tires and last long!

Great Vid! Loved it!
Enid Lake is in Mississippi. About an hour or so south of Memphis on I-55
Stucklites and the mighty Outlaws. I had a set of Swamplites for about 3 months.......now I have Mega Mayhems.
And my dad says I am rough on our yamaha rhino 700 lol great video man

420 is a great atv. Good power to weight ratio. Sure it is straight axle and no diff-lock, but good all around atv!!
Tapping the front break will help get that other tire moving.
Good video!
I believe the are 26 0r 27 swamplites, which run tall. No lift.
gotta love them 3 wheel drives! haha ive got one all stock and i can go threw holes the
Dang he gettin it! Thought he was gonna go crazy! It was almost freestyle or something hahaha!
I love the transmission on my honda my TRX420 is automatic and electric shift when your on the trails i use auto but when you hit the mud i use ES i find the transmission works a lot better. Also no belts on a honda :)
Bearclaws are a great underestimated tire.
I have a friend who loves them. I don't care for them. They wear too fast. They are however true to size if not a little taller than they claim.... which is a good thing. At least you get what you pay for. Most after market tires are not true to size and are shorter than they claim.
Yes and thank you
This is at the Enid Lake bottoms in Mississippi

damn looks like im going to hav to make a road trip down there lol

Yeah, I am done with Aggressive tires. I run Gators on my Teryx and they do great!
I would not go any bogger than 27's. Some people go 28. Consider the new Silverback Lite. I think it will be a great tire, easier on your atv and a little lighter. Outlaws are awesome though!

Reminds me of the fields I ride in in Tupelo
You are welcome. Any time
He had 26 outlaws i think. He did have an HMF pipe and a programmer.
AMEN!!!
at least he won't have to ever worry about broken axles;)

Yall need to go up to Sardis in Oxford

I am getting a Honda rancher 420 2007 4x4 soon. What tires would you recommend for deep water and thick and I mean thick mud! Also would those Kendall exterminators do any good? Trying to keep on the not too expensive on this
the one at the start as bear claws on it on the left
couldnt have said it better so if i follow these instructions and buy the items listed i should be ok? i am new to this haha
super swampers are a good tire. There are not as aggressive as the vampire but they are still good. What are you putting them on?
Enid Lake... Enid, MS
You should upgrade too outlaw 2s when those wear out
I believe they are 27" Swamplites
notice how the honda with the outlaws couldnt pull across the ruts like the red 420 in the beginning
The 2 friends of mine that had them said yes.
What kind and what size tires should I get for my 06 2wd 350 rancher?
We ride there alot. Its some deep ass holes out there lol
I have a 09 500,I wanna put Laws on it! But leave the bike stock! Which sizes would be best? Thx for info
@mudpimp do you have any tips, tricks etc.. on waterproffing an atv?
so if i buy a snorkel kit nd die electric grease i should be alright?
Well, as I can see from some of your vids, you're in Tn? I live in Tn and if you know what trails in this state look like, they are rocky and muddy, and that is mostly what i ride in. So which is best?

That's some funny shit!
The red has Honda's stocked tires?
i got a 2012 honda 500 foreman and i want to put zillas would that work good
The True Anonymous mudzilla would be pretty good but zilla would be an upgrade from stock but not anything in comparison to outlaw or silverback mudzilla would be a good option because theycride smooth
oh man, now that i was starting to wonder how he got outa there u stopped the video! noooooo!!!))
