I stopped preordering 10 years ago. But this is special, I had to pull the trigger, I played the series since release of SoC. It's to support studio and devs.
Thing is, from older stories, it seemed like all the money from Stalker and the Cossacks games went straight into the pockets of the owner, with the employees barely scraping by. If it's still like that, paying for this game won't gain the people who made it anything.
Ppl pay an insane amount of money to get a stupid skin in cod games made for children… so no, GSC aren’t greedy, they have just deserved a boost IF you as a consumer choose to give them a per order… greedy would mean paywalls, Battle pass and all other bullshit every mainstream game pulls today, THAT is greed
I played them when they came out, and they were very advanced for their time, but had problems. Shadow of Chernobyl was super buggy. Clear Sky had this army base that would gun you down as soon as you left Swamps, people were raging about that pretty hard when it released. Call of Pripyat actually released with a discount if you owned the previous games, and it was by far the best out of the trilogy imo. But also, its wild that STALKER 2 is releasing at $59 on Steam. Whereas other games are going for $69-$79.
I mean I preorderd BG3 and I preorderd the Stalker Ultimate edition and I will preorder Crimson Desert and Exodus, cause some games I just think it is okay.
I recently pre-ordered the ultimate edition, the only game I ever pre-ordered before that was GTA V back on PS3. I normally don't do pre-orders nor the most expensive editions but this one is an exception for me.
good job on the video you should do one addressing the steelbook issue, go to any of the preorder pages of the physical editions. to make it brief, they made an asterisk statement addressing that some purchasers of the second batch of physical collectors editions only having a "chance" of receiving the steelbook that is pictured in the preorder images, and yet still have the same images up.
Excited for Shadows of Chernobyl since revealed early 2000s. Bought an 8800 GTX 599.99 dollars on release for the game. Poorly implemented but awesome game. Initial release had a lot of technical, game play, and performance problems. It's atmosphere saved it. Bummer. Wish I kept the install disc and box. If you saw what pre release footage was like, you almost would think it's a different game on release. Lot the pre release feature where not in the game.
I've double-dipped into pre-ordering Stalker 2 Ultimate Edition on PC. One copy for me and one for a family member who got me into the original games as a kid. Both as hardcore fans since the initial release of Shadow of Chernobyl but also in support of Ukraine.
>Is GSC Game World greedy? I remember an anecdote shared by one of the ex-GSC developers who worked on Cossacs+SOC and moved on to Metro People working on Cossacs had it rather hard - their office didn't even have air conditioning or any kind of heating, since it was a rented factory in Kiev After Cossacs came out, they were a huge success, which meant that as Grigorovich now got enough money, the office still lacked conditioning or heating However, the most notable change was the studio's parking space: the developers now had 4 sportcars which they parked there. 1 of them belonged to Grigorovich. The other 3 belonged to Grigorovich too
keep in mind IF that is true which i hardly believe without any evidence, this was way back. Grigorovich doesent even work there anymore, his brother is the CEO now over GSC. This ex employe could easily just have made up stuff to make himself look better
@@OlafPawbelt >This ex employe could easily just have made up stuff to make himself look better ...Yeah, he really needed that after releasin multiple successful metro games while stalker 2 died. >this was way back. Long time STALKER fan, since the beginning, still have my original hardcopies of the original 3 games in the boxes. I bought all 3 again on Steam to support the devs and have easy access to the games. STALKER 2 IS the first game I've been excited for in a long time however my rules with videogames have served me well I'm not about to change them. I do NOT preorder or buy games the first week they are out, I don't spend money on withheld day one dlc and I only rarely ever pay full price and that is only if it's no more then $60 and the game is really really good and a genre or franchise that I love. I will most likely buy this game after Christmas as I have a family and they take priority. But yeah I'll support GSC, just not garbage industry practices like day one withheld content and preorders. I believe those practices to be unethical and outright wrong, and 2 wrongs don't make a right no matter what the devs went through.
Yes I already did. I pre-ordered space marine 2, which means putin got 2 cents towards his war effort. I pre-ordered stalker 2 so the taxes they'll pay eventually as citizens of ukraine go to zelensky's war effort. You see, I am the lord of war.
