The music video has a subtitle. The song is about self love and empowerment. It is their story. When they were starting and even upto now, many filipinos still bash them and doubt their musicality. But even with these negativities around them, they continued, having faith God's protection. The result is they continue to gain popularity because of their talent. Theyre proudly raising and waving their flag. Proud of what they are and what they represent, they wont use violence oor harsh words but they will use their music to win the hearts of the haters and bashers.
Each segment of the music video has a story and is very meaningful and inspiring. That will be discussed next comment..

The WHAT? here is actually a wordplay of the Flipino/Tagalog word "bandera/watawat (means flag) WHATAWHAT? Throughout the MV, WHAT? is being asked sarcastically but at the same time asking what flag are you raising, waving, fighting for? Whatever that is. . . raise (stand for it), wave (be proud of it) fight (take the courage to even go against the flow), and eventually, you will be acknowledged for it!
Justin is the creative director of that song and of course Pablo the composer and lyricist.

"The whole video tells their story from scratch to what they are now and what they can still do in the future.
In the first part, they told us their story when they were bashed, discriminated and put down. Saddest part was when even the Filipinos did step down on them. They were even judged that they sound Kpop and there will never be a Ppop. They were in the news but didnt stop. They used those negativities around to pull positivities and courage to go ahead!
I think Justin (space guy) is a dreamer. Looking at the Earth but blindfolded.
Stell (the cowboy) hold some seeds trying to tell us to dig and dig, plant something and in the future, there will be plenty of fruits.
Ken is like a king in a throne made of junk. He said in the lyrics that he picked up and collected all the trash, and that lifted him up but he keeps telling us that even he has the power now, our feet should always be on the ground.
Josh ( the elevator guy) in real life didnt have an education degree. But on his part he said we are all different but sometimes, those so-called educated people are the worse. And he wont pretend. He started taking off those fancy clothes because that will never define him and what he can do.
Then the dreamer Justin finally took out the blindfold. Now he is ready to turn those dreams to reality. Seeds from Stell's hand grew. From the scene when he was holding soil, raining and lightning like a storm, it changed into a clearer nature scene. Then there comes the part when they are in soldier costumes which has a resemblance of Generals during the old times in Philippines. An image of a general signifies courage, focus and determination. Those people they were trying to pass through are the bashers and those who didnt like them. But eventually, the same people became their fans and they celebrate together with SB19s music. Then it sounds like it became an anthem telling us that yes, Ppop is real. We have our own sound, our own music! Thats why Filipinos, let us all raise our flag! They represent our country but in a bigger picture, they used a flag with question mark which represents each of us to show us that everybody has his/her own flag to raise. I love how you sit there with your keen eyes like a judge in any competition. You are so silent when you view it and your eyes never leave the screen and pauses the video for some inputs. I hope you hear their ballads, SB19 seem to have a tendency of singing better in their live performance compared to the recorded one's and yes we take pride for that. I totally understand you. The first time I watched this I had to stop after a minute because my musical taste does not really lean toward this but then I was drawn to the video for the same reason you have. This song just really defines what these boys have gone through together as well as a showcase of their talent, passion, dreams and characters. The lyrics, the visual, the mood, the tone and quality of this masterpiece is everything. Ah, and I’m a big MJ fan too!

This song empowers each individuals to proudly swing our flag. It may be each country's flag, or the flag of ourselves. The pride. The talents. The crafts. That those hindrances came along our way will be part of something bigger in the future. Thus, let's not be afraid to be what we are because our garbages is also part of us. It complete us. weaknesses? flaws? mistakes in the past? It'll always be part of who we are. And that we should learn from it.
The music vedio coach is about raising your own flag proudly individually. Sb19 has a lot of bashers about their music and their personal appearances but they choice to show their determination, passion and love of music. They are very famous now but they choice to stay their foot on the ground and stay humble. The uniform that they are using is inspired by the world war 2 revolutionary. The people wearing white bumping them is their haters and bashers but in the end they appreciate their music and become their fans. At the end of chorus they sang together and dance together with fun..

It's like when I first saw them on an ad and at first I didn't really care about them, but then I kept seeing their funny meme videos on tiktok and I got interested and checked out their music. I realised I was too harsh and didn't even try to listen to what they got to give. I didn't even give myself the chance to get to know them first. But now I'm a fan.

I‘m just always pleased when there are European reactors to SB19 so that their reach in Europe will get wider. The chances that they eventually do a show/concert here becomes higher... I was going to suggest that you watch some of their ballads but I saw that you had even already made reaction videos on them. About the BTS statement, there really doesn‘t have to be competition between the two groups. One can enjoy both groups at the same time. In fact, a collaboration between the two groups would be awesome!

I've rewatched Michael Jackson's MVs this morning and felt the hardwork of SB19 put in this MV as well. Michael was a perfectionist and SB19 throwing same vibes as well. In just my own opinion.
It's ok we have our own taste of music. Me also not that a fan of some ,,rap songs ..but I appreciate their talents, effort and time ,dedication on this mv to give us meaningful lyrics and message .😊

Thanks coach Yazik! When you rewatch, there's English subs on it. Just check the CC on the MV. They also have a lyric video for this as well--which is basically like a whole other music video to be honest. 😂 The song itself has a lot of symbolism, the official MV as well has its own symbolisms. But the lyric video is a whole another puzzle full of easter eggs and symbolisms as well.
