I had a ninja 600r,a Harley wide glide and 2 years ago got my self a Honda gold wing but after ridding from California to Washington on my friend's Can am spyder i can honestly tell you this was by far the most comfortable ride of my life. Will be buying one for sure regardless if people think its a motorcycle or not. I feel some people may hate on them because they can't afford them but beautiful and comfortable they are.
I developed a terminal hip bone condition 3 years ago and I thought I can never ride a bike again. With the Can Am, I think I can continue my love of the open road.
I ride my 2012 RTS 12 months a year in Minn. Love mine. I've also owned a K100, LTD440, KZ550, CB900, GL1000. Loved em all. Have rid'in HD's, Suzy's, Yam's, Can Am enduro, Rupp's, Buell, and numerous others. I just like riding! Does'nt matter much to me what type or size it is. cya out there-----------
As for myself, I love all bikes no matter the style or make. This world would be a boring place if everyone did the same things. Let the people who come out with new ideas be the creative people that they are. And let the people who like spyders enjoy what they like just like you do. Come on people lets just enjoy life. That's why we all ride bikes right?
Because it's typically considered a style of motor bike due to the seating, steering type, windscreen, and general appearance. It's much like the older style 3 wheelers with 2 in the back. It's a trike but it's still in the bike family and is often sold at motorcycle dealerships.
i am a former goldwing owner , i purchased a 2012 rts silver and black threw on some leds including an awesome usa flag led for the back. Funny but a the local bike nights, i get all kinds of requests to take a ride on the back and these bikes love riding in jan&feb while all the two wheels are shivering in garages. the new 2014 are out time for an upgrade i say.. oh if ur looking for your girl ...lol we went for a ride dont worry i will bring her back to you her sister and mom want on too...
I often wonder why people who hate spyders seem to find their way to videos that show spyders. I think people are curious. That's what make spyders so damn cool. Gotta love um.

Finally, a motorcycle for those that can't ride a bicycle.
I am tbinki.g about getting one of these. Have not rode a bike for about 20 years. Are they safe Nd can someone who has been off. Bike that long handle this type of bike
Are they going to install the new in line triple motor in the RS-S sports version????????
Some people like sitting on something rather than in something. I'm partial to two wheels but I'd give it a shot.
I own a 2012 Can Am Spyder RT SM5 It amazes me that most of you have never ridden a spyder but you have some bogus opinions based on what. Perhaps if you have a motorcycle license you should test drive one.

One problem that comes to mind is that a Can-Am will take up pretty much the same garage space as a Car. You just can't squeeze it in on the side next to a wall like a regular motorcycle. Also - what is the price of one of these?
Price is about the same as a GW or the BMW. Mine was $28k, and worth every penny.

While I respect the individual opinions of different riders , it is my opinion that a trike or 3 wheel cycle at times could make it hard to deal with cituations that all motorcycleist have experianced mainly the ability to get out of the way fast if your at a stop light and hear the screething of tires comming from behind. . I've even had to use a side walk in one situatin to avoid danger.. I basically question weather such a machine leaves you enough outs that an exposed vehicle/rider needs.
the moved the fans forward because of over heating issues with the 2010-2013 models. too bad it took b r p 4 models years to discover that. ( former 2010 spyder owner)
I'm 6'3 it's know problem,best thing is to test drive, some are lil longer

l ride a motorcycle but l decided to buy a can am spyder after a close call when l went over a oil patch on the road and thought about it if l had a can am spyder nothing like that would happen even if you go through oil patch a spyder is more reliable and stable all the time probably a life saver compare to a motorcycle
A Spyder is no less a motorcycle than an Electra that's been kitted into a trike. So unless someone tells me that all trikes don't count as motorcycles, there should room at the table for the Spyder.

I don't know why this clip is on Motorcycle-USA since it is NOT a motorcycle. Why not just buy a Mazda Miata. I just don't get these vehicles.
I do not understand these. It removes everything that makes a motorcycle convenient like its size, parkability etc and replaces it with none of the good features of a car..
Then they're not for you so why worry about it. Obviously they have a market for it or they wouldn't be making new ones. The world doesn't revolve around your taste in things.
Who ever said it was a motorcycle it is what it is and people buy what they want and like some of you people are so damn stupid with it. I remember when the Café Racer (crotch rockets) was considered a piece of crap now all of you guys ride them and swear you are cool on you fiberglass crap bikes but that is what you like so be happy with it and leave each to his own device.
Twenty eight thousand !!! I thought the suckers where about 15 or 16 grand. Fudge the thrill is gone you can buy a brand new car at that price. I wanted one so bad but I don't think it's good wisdom to spend that much money on a three wheeler.
That's 2014...2009 and 10 are around 8 to 10,000...with 4 to 8000 miles on it..

Not a toy at all. I ride it to work every day (rain or shine) instead of driving my gas guzzling Hemi. Much better than my old Vulcan in bad weather. I can ride it 12 months out of the year in Tennessee.
