My dad raised me and my brothers on a small dairy like yours. We farmed about 640 acres and milked 145 cows. I am proud of you for what you do with your children. I wish every dad would involve their children like you do. Believe it would be a better world. Keep it up. You are a special dad and i am proud to support your channel. Please keep it up. Thanks for taking me along.
For the uses you are putting that gehl to, it doesn't need the cab, in my opinion. You know what to do and what not to do. So keep up the good work. Your kids are growing like crazy. Loved the look on (I think it was Jordan's face) when he realized that cow was coming right at him. He moved quickly. Smart! You have some special kids, so you must be doing something right. They can be proud of themselves.Thank you.
Forget the haters! My grandpa taught me to drive skidsteer on an m500 bobcat open station. I didn't get hurt or die. Alot of it comes down to common sense.
I can’t believe you survived the old gehl and then spread manure with the cab-less/rop-less farm all you should play the lottery, lol keep the videos coming.
Taking Me Back To When I Hired Out As A Farm Helper Around My Home Started Working On My Step Grandfather's Farm At 8yrs and Worked On Neighbors Farms Toll 18 Shoveling Manure Like You Were Showing Us Every Morning Before School Pitching Silage On Small Farms You Don't Realize How Wonderful A Job It Is Until You Don't Have To Do It Any Longer Brings Back Fond Memories Thanks For Sharing This With Us Blessings And Please Be Safe ✌️
I did my share shoveling manure back in the day. Heifer barn and chicken house 2 floors. Only a farmer would know the joy you feel when you see the floor from the last corner.🤓🐄
Jordan is the man . Kid can do almost everything He reminds me of Nick R . That young man could do every job on the fram by age 16 . Love your heard , top notch TAKE CARE AND STAY SAFE !!!!
in a perfect world , every thing would be safe, we humans do not work in a perfect world , proud to see the young ones out helping his dad with the chores, its quality time between father and kidos , even if it work 🥸🤓,Canada
The only function that the old cab served on that skidloader was aggravation. A friend of mine recommended running some automatic transmission fluid in my field to keep things in my fuel system clean and lubed. It may help your Governor issues. It might smoke a little, but it's old enough to smoke. I enjoy watching your videos, and seeing g how you and you family interact with eachother, and your cattle. There seems to be a lot of love on that farm. One of God's many blessings.
Before changing the temp gauge, put the temp probe in a pot of boiling water and see if it reads! Our international 966 and 1466 won’t build much temperature on the gauge either unless they are working really hard near wide open throttle
Alan I don’t know anything about the availability in your area but a Vactor or Hydrojet sewer cleaner would make short work of clearing that line. During my career I saw a lot of very plugged sewers that were easily defeated by this equipment. Just an idea. The cows look very happy as usual.
My first tractor when I started. Had 2440 hors when i bought it, traded it off with 8440 hours, never touched the motor. I see some sparks coming from the alternator. Maybe need to look at brushes. Good work tractor.
Your corn stubble looks in better condition than ours (uk) you’d get some wheat in that straight after the disc! Ours took some levelling with the plough and power Harrow before we could drill it!
TD, I like your farm it's so beautiful with your family working together. The cows are so curious and cool .Do they always go into the same stall? Maybe split a red pool noodle and put over that pipe that crosses the barn entry to save your head. Keep up the good work, Boe
Yes, cows always go to the same stall. They are creatures of habit, and once they have a "home", they go back to it every milking, and even after being dry 60 days, they will go to the same stall.
Thanks for the video Alan. It was interesting and enjoyable to watch. Looks like you got the tractor running good and like you said needs some fluid in the tires and temp gage and a few other things. Seems to run good for you. Like the little skid steer you have for use in the barn. Great to see your son helping out in the barn. Your dairy operation keeps you busy. Saw your cows in the pasture and they all are looking good. Thanks Alan. You are doing good. The Iowa farm boy. Steve.
Hey Alan, great to see the kids pitching in with all the chores. Brings back a lot of great memories for me on my Grandparent's farm. My grandad had a stanchion barn down the road a bit where he kept his older heifers. Had a gutter but no barn kleener. It had a low ceiling too. He would back his manure spreader in the barn and I would help him shovel manure into the spreader the same way you and Jordan were doing it, one on each side. Thanks for the video
I know what your saying about the safety thing that bothers some people. Not everything can be bubble wrapped. I drove tractor for many hours as a farm boy that were open station, no ROPS . Granted we are in flat land country, but you had to just stay away from the ditch banks for the most part. The narrow fronts are more dangerous. I had a relative of mine that was killed driving straight thru a shallow ditch with a narrow front. The front end went up and just kept coming. I think that happened before my time. There are things like that in every walk of life. Another great video! God Bless you and your family!
I gotta say you have some really nice condition cows with nice bags…. The way to a successful farm are how your cows are taken care of and your doing an outstanding job. Hope you can get your manure line solved soon🙏🏻❤️
The most important piece of safety equipment is the OPERATOR! That goes from a kitchen knife to the biggest machine. You know that you don't have a "cage" or ROPS on your equipment, and you operate it safely, and I think you know to instruct your children how to operate it safely. Non farmers don't seem to get that. Keep the videos coming!
Hi Trinity, I too have an 806 with a 2350 loader. I have the rear tires 18.4-38 loaded and have 3 sets of wheel weights on each wheel. It will spin them sometimes with a full bucket of rocks or wet soil. I also have a 1256 like you, I have pulled my IH 720 4x18 plows with both tractors and I can tell you the 806 is a beast but it sure ain't no 1256.... lol.
About 40 years ago I had a little Bobcat 500 just like that thing and I run it without a thing on it and never one time had a problem it wouldn't even lift up round bales I'd pick them up and have to hold them against the truck to let him down and it was so small it only had a two-cylinder Kohler motor on it so don't worry about what other people think
Allan you crack me up; I don’t think you could have found a smaller tractor to run the manure spreader. People should mind their own business and look in their own yard. I had a 706 and that thing never got the temp gauge up over half; mine also smoked a lot more than yours. Good to make it work. Best tractor to hay with
I spent some time on a B when I was a young man , great memories . If that loader wasn’t on there you wouldn’t have any traction problems . Great video , God Bless
Always liked it in the fall, when you let the cows in for night milking. When you get to the barn, the stable is cold. You open the door, and the cows are all excited and eager to come in, and get their feed. The stable soon warms up, and every thing just feels right with the world.
I have a 966 with that 2350 loader on the front of it too. I watch your videos often and with those loaders on those tractors, I have to maintain that front axle frequently even in the videos I can see some wobble in that front axle God bless.
I grew up when you didn't have to wear a safety helmet to ride a bicycle. That barn cleaner you have there is what we used to call the Armstrong brand of barn cleaner.😊
❤😊MY UNCLE CLEANED HIS BARN THE OLD FASHIONED WAY FOR 35+ YEAR'S HE JUST BACKED THE SPREADER IN AND PITCHED IT FULL !!! 8N FORD DID THE SPREADING ❤ UNCLE IS GONE NOW 8N 😊 IS STILL AT THE FARM ❤😊
Like I always say our little 630 Case and the spreader justs fits in the barn straight through one door and out the other.😂 Oh my Alan you could be beheaded with that skid steer.....😮😂 Not really, I'm just kidding when you know what you're doing it's all good.
The 806 needs a good work out on the disc and the load will clean out the pump for sure with the additives you put in it ,they were just the right size hp tractor for all the farms work needs
Make sure someone didn't pull the thermostat out, and if you load those tires, use beet juice. You prolly all ready know about the beet juice. Cows look happy and healthy as always. Be safe bud!
As far as the slid steer, just be careful so not to get yourself under a low height openning, while operating it ,it will take you off while it keeps going forward, special operating care must be practiced
I enjoy your videos. Thanks for sharing you farm and family. Nothing better than growing up on a farm. 806 looks like a good buy but I will miss seeing the 830. The old Case tractors are what initially attracted me to your channel. Along those lines, why do you not use the 530? We have three of them, two triple range diesels and one gas, they are great little machines.
Mom and Dad had a friend that had a small Dairy when I was growing up, 8 to 10. I would help him some just to be on the farm and did all of that fun stuff lol.
i would add a bunch of ih wheel weights no rim rust good seeing ih806 going at it you got a buy on it i have one of those jd disc used it mercilialso souly i dont like there brg set up but oh well you all hav wonderful family also the ol b is still at it
I agree the tractor bogged down to much without little to no smoke so to me seeing and hearing the tractor I think it's not getting enough fuel just seemed to Peter out to soon for the longest time we used a Oliver 1655 pulling 2 12ft disc and didn't struggle as much as your 806
LOL my nearly 64 years of life it took me longer than 50 years to learn that the dangerous end is not the one that goes in the ditch. Is the other end with the long handle. Those things make an old man out of you fast bad knees bad back bad shoulders. Lol. I can't blame anybody else but myself, I wanted to do it
Weight in those rear tires or not, you might need to add some of that nice green paint on that tractor to pull those discs😂 just kidding . And ill second that hydrojet for the manure pipe .
Two questions first those grain bins you have in the back ground are you going to put your shelled corn in. Plus the tractor you have in the garage you showed the other day are you planning on getting it running and using it on the farm. As far as the bobcat without the roll over on it I used to work at a grain elevator fertilizer company and our bobcat never had one and ohsha never said a word that was in the.80's so I am sure it is different now but I loaded a lot of fertilizer and corn with that thing never had a problem
Gee, just like I had to do back in the 50s, with a shovel and a wheelbarrel. (That is until a cow kicked when cleaning out the trench behind her. Dad never had me clean out the trench again.)
My dad raised me and my brothers on a small dairy like yours. We farmed about 640 acres and milked 145 cows. I am proud of you for what you do with your children. Thanks for the support! We're trying to pass down the knowledge to the next generation.
I must say the cows are in great condition as far as i could see ,kudo's for you guys, thanks and greetings from a Dutch dairyfarmer

I like seeing the old equipment still being used. I think that is the biggest reason why I subscribed to your channel.
Same!

I was chopping corn in ny for my brother in-law. November 5th. Lol. November 20th. We have 1 feild to go . Have a good one.
Jordan you are becoming an impressive young man!!!
Keep up the great work bud!
I like your little gel skid steer...one thing about farming you do the best with what you've got!!

It's great growing up on a farm. Gives kids the values they need to learn about family and tradition.
Beautiful photographs to finish.
Those full corn cribs sure look good in the background. Great video.
Yeah, they're neat to look at.
We had 10 cribs. Knew them well when we shelled them ha
The only function that the old cab served on that skidloader was aggravation.

Your cows look awesome and there’s no better way of life/growing up than what you and your kids are experiencing they are so lucky 👍
I enjoy the barn work with kids. It reminds me when we were in the barn with my dad.

The commentary on the cab-less gehl was hilarious and spot on. 😂😂 Evan tractors have no cab so they could fit in the low barns.
Alan I don’t know anything about the availability in your area but a Vactor or Hydrojet sewer cleaner would make short work of clearing that line. During my career I saw a lot of very plugged sewers that were easily defeated by this equipment. Just an idea. The cows look very happy as usual.
Love watching the kids do their chores! They sure are hard working children! Great video!
My first tractor when I started. Had 2440 hors when i bought it, traded it off with 8440 hours, never touched the motor. I see some sparks coming from the alternator. Maybe need to look at brushes. Good work tractor.
Beautiful cows

Yes, they learn their stalls pretty quick.
Yes, cows always go to the same stall. They are creatures of habit, and once they have a "home", they go back to it every milking, and even after being dry 60 days, they will go to the same stall.

Nice sounding 806! Ron
I use used antifreeze for ballast in my tires, usually can find it for free and it won't eat the rims out like calcium does
I must the cows are in great condition as far as i could see, kudo's for you guys, thanks and greetings from a Dutch dairyfarmer
ALWAYS glad to watch your videos.
I gotta say you have some really nice condition cows with nice bags…. The way to a successful farm are how your cows are taken care of and your doing an outstanding job. Hope you can get your manure line solved soon🙏🏻❤️
Love seeing the cows and equipment here in southern ohio there’s no dairy pickup anymore stay strong and god bless
awesome video as always, maybe a set of duals would come in handy too for tillage work with that IH in the future
The most important piece of safety equipment is the OPERATOR! That goes from a kitchen knife to the biggest machine. Very nice job and God bless y'all
I sure do seeing those corn cribs full, warms my heart. Keeping farming simple.
Wrong time to loosen the ground up before winter sets in . But you do what you have to.
I spent some time on a B when I was a young man , great memories . If that loader wasn’t on there you wouldn’t have any traction problems . Great video , God Bless
Need to get that pipe unplugged 😊

The 806 sounds good
Enjoyed the video as always. Love seeing the cows.
Running pretty well a little love and care is all she needs.
Hi Trinity Da,Edward from Vermont
This brings back memories. Thanks
I remember our chain breaking and needing a new one. Same clean out procedure. Shovels and skid loader
I love when you run that ole skidloader . You know what all those yuppies that comment just block them
Another great video
I cleaned a lot of drops by hand with a wheel borrow and up a plank to the spreader lot of work but lived thru it
I grew up when you didn't have to wear a safety helmet to ride a bicycle. That barn cleaner you have there is what we used to call the Armstrong brand of barn cleaner.😊
Looks like the rear tires are pumped up rock hard, drop the pressure to 15 psi and you’ll be amazed how much better she pulls.
Good hard work 👍🙂
And to think so many people will pay good money to workout, but won't pick up a shovel 🤷♂️🤣🤣. Glad you survived the ol gehl 👍🤣🤣
❤😊MY UNCLE CLEANED HIS BARN THE OLD FASHIONED WAY FOR 35+ YEAR'S HE JUST BACKED THE SPREADER IN AND PITCHED IT FULL !!! 8N FORD DID THE SPREADING ❤ UNCLE IS GONE NOW 8N 😊 IS STILL AT THE FARM ❤😊

Awesome new scribble here I didn't know u had a milk cows love the videos thanks for sharing 👌 👍 😀
Like I always say our little 630 Case and the spreader justs fits in the barn straight through one door and out the other.😂 Oh my Alan you could be beheaded with that skid steer.....😮😂 Not really, I'm just kidding when you know what you're doing it's all good.

We had a bobcat that didn’t have a cage on it and it is still in use I agree a lot of other things that are way more dangerous than that!
Looks like children got barn work 😅 awesome
Good stuff guys.
Make sure someone didn't pull the thermostat out, and if you load those tires, use beet juice. You prolly all ready know about the beet juice. Cows look happy and healthy as always. Be safe bud!
Thanks for sharing, you might have to turn the magic screw in the injection pump some.
The clutch is weak
Mom and Dad had a friend that had a small Dairy when I was growing up, 8 to 10. I would help him some just to be on the farm and did all of that fun stuff lol.
You have a motorized wheelbarrow, not a skid steer. No more danger! Ha! Ha! God Bless.
That's a good one!
It’s amazing how they know their respective stall…
Nice video
Hi trinity dairy from Indiana
Good luck deer hunting this weekend.
We just want you to be okay is all brother.
i would add a bunch of ih wheel weights no rim rust good seeing ih806 going at it you got a buy on it i have one of those jd disc used it mercilialso souly i dont like there brg set up but oh well you all hav wonderful family also the ol b is still at it
Invest in a turbo on the 806,, you will be Amazed..

She definitely needs a set of duals you've got all kinds of power
I find it funny to read comments from people who have no clue which end of the shovel is the dangerous end.
LOL my nearly 64 years of life it took me longer than 50 years to learn that the dangerous end is not the one that goes in the ditch. Is the other end with the long handle. Those things make an old man out of you fast bad knees bad back bad shoulders. Lol. I can't blame anybody else but myself, I wanted to do it
Please and thank you goes a long way…
Weight in those rear tires or not, you might need to add some of that nice green paint on that tractor to pull those discs😂 just kidding . And ill second that hydrojet for the manure pipe .
By golly allen, that's a pretty doggone solid little bn, to handle spreader that size
If it works for you use it
Two questions first those grain bins you have in the back ground are you going to put your shelled corn in. Plus the tractor you have in the garage you showed the other day are you planning on getting it running and using it on the farm. Yes, that tractor will be getting used, just waiting for the heads and injectors to get done, then it can start going back together.
The most dangerous thing about that skid steer is forgetting to duck when backing into the barn.👍
Gee, just like I had to do back in the 50s, with a shovel and a wheelbarrel. (That is until a cow kicked when cleaning out the trench behind her. Dad never had me clean out the trench again.)
Dam supervisors 😂😂
Looks like you have some front pivot bushing play in the front axle of the 806.
Yeah
Tell the hall monitors to go play in the traffic at rush hour
Allen use windshield washer fluid. Cheaper for weight.
