I went for the esquire h in Arctic White. Swapped out the tuners and saddles. I also went for a push-pull partial split on the volume pot and fitted a dimarzio super distortion. All in, probably cost more than the paranormal, but it was a really fun and valuable experience as my first time modding.
Just got the Arctic white squier Esquire and WOW quality build and awsome tone .I have a couple of affinity a paranormal tornado a bullet and an affinity telecaster deluxe. And the sonic hangs with all of them no problem. The bar has been lifted again by fender/squier..

I have a black Deluxe, very impressed with the build quality..was thinking of adding a single neck pickup for some more twang ..overall a very good vintage feeling new guitar
I already have cts pots fender tuners and a dimarzio evolution sitting in a box from other guitars i have modified before. The sonic is speaking to me as a tom delong style project. Could be a good project for very little money.
Ya I think purple needs a Pearl or sparkle to get me, but a flat purple is meh. Sounds like the sonic is a good mod platform for someone wanting to get into modding a few minor things without a high buy in starting point. Save the time and money better to go with paranormal agreed tho.
Why not both? I bought the Sonic Esquire and did a three way switch mod to it with a Duncan JB (Series/Parallel/Split slug side). Then the Esquire deluxe came out and now I want one of those too. There is a rumor that there is one coming out with a blue sparkle finish, so I'm waiting on that to surface. The sonic pickup is a simple, two wire typical Squier pickup. The 3 way switch is a better splitting option with a 4 conductor pickup.
haha "both" is definitely the answer. So annoying the sonic is a 2-conductor wire instead of 4. I know you CAN convert those but that's way more trouble than a Squier pickup would be worth.
I hadn't been considering the Esquire from the Paranormal range. I can see the appeal for those who are buying it, but it's not high enough up on my list to buy even considering the low cost. My red Stratosonic is out for delivery though! And I considered a couple others, but figure I'll wait till next year's Paranormal line. Fun video, Em. Thanks.
@@GetOffset It just arrived a few minutes ago. Absolutely gorgeous, and a cursory noodle felt and sounded great. No rough frets, though I haven't checked their levels. The finish is stunning.

I get the pickguard thing but TBH...I like the vibe of the enormous pickguard. It's honestly so goofy when you think about it-like 75% of the face is covered!!!! WHY?
@@GetOffset Yeah I've been eyeing it since it leaked in April. I usually prefer to have more tonal options but I think that guy would be a cool way to limit my options and force me to make more creative decisions.

Those two guitars are great! Cheers to Squier for all the models the developed, especiailly in the last five years or so!
Squire has done a GREAT job.
These make for really good modding platforms.
They're usually routed for all pickups configs, it's just waiting for you
I remember the offset telecaster being routed for Nashville style! Still thinking about doing something like that haha
Just a heads up: The Ultraviolet Sonic has an Indian Laurel fretboard, not Rosewood. I have the Arctic White with Maple and love it!

@@GetOffsetIndian Laurel and rosewood similar color and grain, Indian Laurel a little darker tone, rosewood a bit more open and presence. .
Me tooooooo and then I found a fender Shawbucker (idk if it’s a 1 or 2) for 10 bucks and made the tone pot a spin-a-split it’s so killer for 210 bucks
