- It has been asked online many times concerning the composition used in the early ballroom scene in the movie Kate and Leopold. At first I was under the impression that it was not in the credits, which it is. It is true that this composition is not contained in the sound track for the movie. The composition that is used, as I understand it, is about 7 minutes long but was edited down to about 3 to 4 minutes for the movie. The movie begins about a minute into the composition and ends with the ending. How and where the editing took place would be of interest to me. This is not usually the type of video I wanted for this account but I thought to make it available since when I first investigated the issue there was little to no information on it.
It is Tivoli-Rutsch-Walzer, Op. 39 by Johann Strauss. You can buy it in on the album Strauss:Dances by The Gaudier Ensemble.
I never noticed Kate in this scene. Leopold takes no notice as he pushes past her.
Poor Leopold would have been doomed to marry the Chipmunk girl.
So this is the directors cut of Kate & Leopold. It just ruined it now with the twist on Kate being with Leopold. Thanks for the video BTW.
Me when I see Miss Tee:No Hugh Jackman, don't marry her she's too common. Marry Meg Ryan instead.
Me: Oh poor Hugh Jackman he has to marry some unattractive american. Lord save this man from his misery.
A few scenes later
Me: Oh yeah he gets it on with Meg Ryan,
I swear this film is a pure delight to watch. Seeing Hugh Jackman in a film where his not kicking bad guys is actually cool.
