  • Brutal Torture of Gay Men under Nazi Regime - Nazi Germany. Despite the fact that homosexuality was illegal, in the mid- to late-nineteenth century, there were indications of nascent and growing gay communities in Germany
Political and social conditions even allowed for people to publicly campaign for the decriminalization of sexual relations between men and the repeal of “Paragraph 175” which from 1871 banned sexual relations between men. In terms of legal policy relating to the German criminal code, the Nazi Party opposed efforts to decriminalize sexual relations between men and repeal Paragraph 175. The Nazi Party denounced homosexuality as a deviation from normal behavior that was completely antithetical to its fundamental belief in the need to increase the
pure, "Aryan" population and proper family life.
However, there were known gay men even in the Nazi movement, most notably Ernst Röhm who used the word “same-sex oriented”, to describe himself.
After the Nazis came to power on the 30th of January, 1933, they sought to dismantle the visible gay cultures and networks that had developed during the Weimar Republic. The Nazis used new laws and police practices to arrest and detain without trial a limited number of gay men beginning in late 1933 and early 1934.
The Nazi German judicial system also introduced castration into legal practice. As of late 1933, courts could order mandatory castration for certain sexual offenders. However, at least initially, men arrested under Paragraph 175 could not be castrated without their supposed consent but in some cases, men imprisoned under this statute could secure early release if they volunteered to be castrated. One such man was Friedrich-Paul von Groszheim.
In fall 1934, Reinhard Heydrich ordered the police of all large cities to make a list of known homosexuals. These lists have come to be known as the “pink lists,” although this is not what the Nazis or the police called them.
In late 1934, the Gestapo, which was the official political police, raided gay bars and made mass arrests of homosexual men; most of whom were not involved in politics.
Three events in the years 1934-1936 radicalized the Nazi regime’s campaign against homosexuality and led to more systematic oppression of gay men.
First was the murder of Ernst Röhm and other SA leaders in June-July 1934.
Second, in June 1935 the Nazis revised Paragraph 175, the statute of the German criminal code that banned sexual relations between men.
Finally, in 1936 SS leader and Chief of the German Police Heinrich Himmler established the Reich Central Office for the Combating of Homosexuality and Abortion.
The Nazi campaign against homosexuality intensified in 1935-1936.
In the mid- to late 1930s, the police raided bars and other meeting places that they believed to be popular with gay men.
A neighbor, acquaintance, colleague, friend, or family member could inform the police of their suspicions.
There were gay men who took the risk of resisting the Nazi state for political and personal reasons. Some gay men helped hide Jews or joined underground anti-Nazi resistance groups. Such was a case of Willem Arondeus, a gay member of the Dutch resistance, who on the 27th of March 1943, during the German occupation of the Netherlands, participated in an attack on the Amsterdam Population Registry offices.
Not all of approximately 100,000 men arrested under Paragraph 175 during the Nazi regime shared the same fate.
Between 5,000 and 15,000 men were imprisoned in concentration camps as “homosexual” offenders.
The pink triangle called attention to this prisoner population as a distinct group within the concentration camp system. According to many survivor accounts, pink triangle prisoners were among the most abused groups in the camps. SS guards murdered homosexual prisoners out of cruelty or during sadistic games.
Beginning in November 1942, concentration camp commandants officially had the power to order the forced castration of pink triangle prisoners.
Josef Kohout, imprisoned under Paragraph 175, was 24 when he was arrested in March 1939 when his Christmas card to his male lover had been intercepted.
Scholars estimate that there were approximately 100,000 arrests under Paragraph 175 during the Nazi regime. More than 53,000 resulted in convictions.

In 1952, Alan Turing the mathematician was arrested for homosexuality - which was then illegal in Britain. He was found guilty of ‘gross indecency’ (this conviction was overturned in 2013) but avoided a prison sentence by accepting chemical castration. In 1954, he was found dead from cyanide poisoning. Turing is one of my favorite figures of the war. He was a genius instrumental in winning the war, yet was ultimately betrayed by his own nation. He cracked the Nazi enigma code, which helped to defeat the Nazi's and liberate Europe...and his nation in return chose to destroy his life because he had attraction to men instead of women. Think about how messed up that is.

His death is one of the strangest cases of the 1900s. Many new theories suggest that he died as a result of accidentally ingesting cyanide (if it really was cyanide). Essentially, there were no indicators of suicidal thoughts, he was completely dedicated to his work (which was going better than ever) and he had made plans with himself for the next Tuesday. All of his friends and family also said that he really didn't seem like the sort, which is what a lot of people say, however, this was a man so eager to get back to his work, that he voluntarily undertook chemical castration to obtain an early release; a man who goes through something like that voluntarily clearly has a lot to live for. **Even though I refer to the castration as "voluntary" I should mention that there was coercion and the promise of an early release which pressured many men to undergo the procedure**

it's not too difficult to understand -society that permits certain behaviors begins to shift the overton window, meaning that these behaviors which were once fringe and unknown become permissive and eventually celebrated. it becomes the new baseline in which people view their society, at which point a new, even more fringe belief can now be pushed for acceptance, which once again, if allowed to happen, would re-set the baseline of society's general beliefs, and it goes on and on this way until we live in a society where people openly debate whether pedophilia should be accepted or not. In order to not allow something like this, you have to push the overton window in the other direction. And you do that by criminalizing sexual deviance.

My adoptive great grandfather on my mother's side had a sexual relationship with another man while in Germany. That man was my biological great grandfather. Both men were married and each had a child. All six managed to get out of Germany and make it to America before things got as bad as they did. They weren't all able to afford to make the trip together. My biological great grandparents and maternal grandmother went first. Later my adoptive great grandparents and their son were able to make it here. By the time they did both of my biological great grandparents had passed away and my grandmother had been sent to live in an orphanage. Eventually they were able to find her and they adopted her. Growing up it was the kind of thing people didn't like to speak about, didn't discuss much. Even now, not that far away from 60 I'm learning, there's still so much I don't know. After the screening, there was a discussion with all the people present. I spoke with an old german woman about that time. What many even in Germany are not aware of: Paragraph 175 of the criminal code remained in effect basically unchanged after WWII, until 1964. After that, homosexual relationships were not illegal anymore, provided that both men were 21 years old. However: The age of consent for heterosexual relationships was 14. Therefore, even after 1964, there were men convicted based on paragraph 175. The last "175er" to have been convicted under this law was released from prison in 2004 after serving a 10 year sentence.

Although I am no theologian, I can see that the Bible makes perfectly clear God's stand on the issue
of sodomy in both Testaments. From Leviticus throuh Romans and the Pauline Epistles, there is no
room for debate. Jesus was clear as crystal when he said a man should leave his father and mother
and cleave unto his wife. (a woman). The Lord did not say he should cleave unto his male lover!
The only way to show love to homosexuals is to present them with the Gospel of free and sovereign Grace,
not to affirm them in their sin. If they accept the Gospel, they will be saved. If they reject it, they should be
      shunned.
Not being a scientist or medical professional, I don't know whether or not people are "born that way" but I
do know that science has been unable to locate any gene which indicates a prediliction towards such perverted sexual desires. Also, I do know that sodomy is an abomination in the sight of God. You may accept
such behaviour but He does not.
Lastly, I do not believe my comments were "haughty". I am 78 and tend to write in a formal manner. The
true haughtiness is exhibited by the other side. They insist that we not only acknowledge but also
respect their degenerate lifestyle, their preposterous "pride" events and ridiculous 75 genders. To my mind,

Germany had become such a militaristic society from World War I to 1945 that there were thousands of young German men to foreign forces in Germany that hundreds of young men in close military situations were bound to be sexually attracted to one another. There are thousands of proven stories after World War II of countless number of babies born all over Europe to women whose fathers ended up being German soldiers after the Nazis invaded their countries. Love conquers all. Also I read about stories of women in the U.S. and Canada trying to get into P.O.W. camps in the two countries trying to start relationships(sex?) with the soldiers because the camps were mostly filled with young good looking captured German prisoners of war.

Currently they have 20% of theoretical voters. If they can double this they are able to lead the country (just a reminder, since the covid pandemic they nearly doubled their voter count already which is extremely scary)

I didn’t know gay men were arrested and murdered too until I visited Sachsenhausen early 2000’s
History lessons at school didn’t mention that.

First of all, Hitler's fancy and obsession of Aryan race itself is so misdirected because there is no such thing as Aryan race. It's a myth. Aryan is a term used to describe a noble warrior with all possible good qualities. It's not a noun. It's an adjective.

Yes, the concept was fundamentally flawed, although the etymology and use of the word is more complex than you’ve indicated.

Uhh not really before Hitler got big he was deeply into this bizarre gypsy who described the different types of people almost like a horoscope or something anyways she described the Aryan race as one of her description of humans therefore Hitler fell for it and was brainwashed by a gypsy pretty much witchcraft...which are all satanic

Thank you! The Nazis stretched the truth on the Aryan race.
Historically, there were Aryans but they weren't the blond-haired, blue-eyed people Hitler tried to create.
