Hey screw drivers and drivers of screws! The game's publisher here. Just wanted to thank everyone for all the love, and ScrapMan for the continued support. Means a lot to our team! We'll do our best to address your feedback. Cheers.
I LOVE the game but I'm running out of stuff to do quickly. This game is awesome. Add water physics and boats. Add air vehicle engines(jets, wings, etc)
For those reading comments that haven't gotten the game yet, ALWAYS do the tutorials. You get to keep the pieces from the tutorial so you get free pieces that aren't already in your inventory. Skipping tutorial saves time, but then you're spending more money down the line.
Even more: If you have some Idea of how to design driveshaft and can race half decently, you can finish campaign in one sitting. I needed to split it to two sittings but honestly, it wasn't too bad. Also, trick I lerned: If you want to have launch control but also to have rear wheels power, make gearbox going to back wheels, and also put the midium electric motors next to each: medium offroad and both medium and big raceing suspensions have one attachement point right above the place where axle goes, so you can take one of those brown sideways extension thingies and plop small or medium electric motor to the axle. They cut off above 54 kph, so quite honestly, if your car is fast they work as launch control, while main drivetrain does the heavy lifting.
Honestly this is the great mechanics of this game. Where you can make hybrid vehicles that basically combine tue aspects of the engines and gears and such you used. Makes for some really insane and interesting performing vehicles.
you always have 3 opponents in the ghost races. those are always the indicators for gold, silver and bronze time. to win the race and unlocking the new parts, beating bronze is just enough. for free drive, there are more flags around the map that you first have to find to unlock.
Some of the flags that I can think of off the bat are over in the half pipe, and a second on by the tunnel near it as well as one on the bridge to the north of the one that you start with. Also, more chests will be added to the map as you progress through the main game mode.
@@brianvanhedelThey definitely aren't good... But once I got used to them they didn't feel too terrible. Just takes a good 6-8 hours or fiddling with it to finally figure out how to use it somewhat decently. Which still sucks.
@@plzletmebefrank they desperately need a multiselect function and the ability to shift parts around. Deleting and replacing something you wanted to move 1 spot over gets old quick. I get there's a quick select with middle mouse but it's till gets old
I think the graphs need some work too. I appreciate they scale with power, making them easier to read, but the fact they scale with power makes it near impossible to compare and contrast changes. Really hope they add a "before and after" feature allowing you to see the exact change. (Kinda like scrapmans editor did for us)
I think the best option is... A quick little selector between scaled power and graphs of set sizes. But that does add a little potential for confusion...
@plzletmebefrank honestly that would work too. Anything really because I have a hard time understanding if a change I made is good or not. Spent like 20 min redoing my entire car just to find out I murdered it's acceleration because the graph was scaling with top speed. Had a top speed of like 400 and an acceleration of 40. Which was way worse than an acceleration of 50 and top speed of 160. (For the rally race I was doing) made me lose a little hair not gonna lie lmao
23:35 that E means your car is in E class and the class increases as you improve the performance of the vehicle. I just made an S class car, it goes 207 kph but doesn't turn. Also we do need a button to open the map in free drive.
Yes because it's absolute hell trying to find the boxes by remebering the map from the start of spawning, like at least making a physical map would be nice
Recomendation: Focus on unlocking parts, so you dont have to care if you got gold or not, you get the part you can move to the next race. I unlocked all parts under 4 hours and now I am fixing my time to get gold.
That sounds like a risky Strat... if ya Gold everything after ya have everything, ya are brute forcing through raw Parts Power... while one does that, how would one know if one is or is not learning and practicing actual good Building Techniques...?

Honestly, I would love to see more experimentation and messing up. Happy to see the campaign being completed, but it would be awesome to see just messing around and finding out the quirks of the game. Either way I would definitely like to see more of Screwdrivers on this channel.
For your next build in Screwdrivers, I would like to see you link small gears to your wheels, medium gears to your engines, and big gears between the two previous ones as the connectors. Good tork and big speed.
There's more parts and even paint around the map and you can also find different spawn points which gets activated when you touch it so you can spawn over there.
20:50 once suspension adjustment gets added I hope it gets done properly. You need less rebound and more dampening. Rebound is the rate the suspension returns back after being compressed. Damping is how much the suspension resists compression.
Just watched AL Magma play and I learned some tips 1) gear directions are arbitrary (in this version). 2) multiple gear ratios in one driveline cause compound friction drains (clutch switches avoid this). 3) driveshafts can be use as structural and mechanical at the same time
Idea: Although this game is a bit more indepth in terms of mechanical parts, i think it would be fun to see you recreate your favourite trailmakers build in screw drivers OR You build a screw drivers vehicle as closely as you can in trailmakers!
Your starting car is like a shame, so the suspension practically serves as a spring and you start to bounce after any jump, losing all momentum and grip.
Warning: One of the races in the next group puts you up against a vehicle that's WAY better than anything you can build at this stage of the game. It uses four of the top-tier electric motors. Don't chase first place in that race until you can come back with a similar build!
23:33 Guys, what is this weird symbol? 🤔 lol BTW There is more chests on the island, I'm not sure if they appear on the map while exploring or when completing races. The last race gives you a chest detector.
I really love this. I hope the views end up being good and sticks. There looks like a lot of content could come out of this. Multiplayer with kan could be great, if multiplayer even is a feature idk if it is.
A recommendation for the treasure collecting, try finish all the races quickly, bronze will do with the final reward being a treasure compass. Can save you a lot of pain since there is no map yet without exiting. With the compass finding all the treasure is much easier.
Huh, wouldnt this cause the gears to grind? Or do the motors have like a clutch where theres no collision if its rotating too fast? I always just added electric motors to the motor shaft so all the power and torque goes through the whole driveline.
I don’t really comment often but if you put a bigger gear on the same axle that is attached to a smaller gear turned by a big gear then connect a small gear from another axle it will increase top speed but reduces acceleration so long as the final small gear is connected to the drive axle
Your vehicles have bad stability because you build such small cars. Wider track width and longer wheelbase add so much drivability. Even after you lengthened it its still way too short/small to be stable, thats why it doesnt handle the bumps and jumps very well. Front wheel drive is more controlable but more prone to understeer and traction loss. I prefer 4wd or Rwd personally. I recommend building a shaft for just your motors geared to a gearbox to drive shafts that go from front to rear (each or, if you prefer front or rear wheel drive), doing this kind of allows your design to be future proofed for adding motors/power, thats why its good to overbuild your chassis so you dont have to make a new one or rethink your entire design just because you want to add some new parts or power. Hope you make more videos of this! Love these mechanical engineering games.
FYI, the different cars are the different medals, and explore free roam, there are various different parts that can be useful. Edit: 20:00 they only need to be attached at one point, this is a waste of acceleration. 2nd Edit: 23:53 more get unlocked the more races you do, so you can’t have all of them until you have beaten the secret queen. Basically, each time you beat a new monarch, go exploring. Also go exploring if you are struggling.
please keep playing this game , the cars are very good , so many things you havnt even touched yet, 7 speed gear boxes over 1000kph lol , other wheels down force weight inline 4 6 8 12 engines
hey ScrapMan, a funny strat for destroy opponent is to drive up to their side and "catch" (like hook on) there wheel and they cant drive. I recommend you learn the benefits of power steering in this game, very helpful when moving very fast. So is vertical stabilization using downforce blocks.
Good game i'd like to see more of it. Makes the building aspect more intresting than other games. And it feels more intresting to watch, it's fun, smooth and things make sense
Think I will play this more tonight, managed to make a high acceleration car last night before I went to work, was a S+ class. Then I added too many frame parts and it dropped to S.

I'd like to see ScrapMan try to beat that score. ... Maybe a supersonic dragster? (I've gotten a theoretical speed above mach 1 but I didn't have the accel to reach it sadly.)
A gear system to change between both motors would be just top Notch ( although...kinda heavy ). using one just for acceleration and then changing to others to maintain speed. That's why I liked this game, brain just go brrrt in building mode
But why? Just seems like unnecessary weight. Why not just put all the motors on the same output shaft? Youll get the torque from the electric motors down low and the top end of combustion engines at the big end, no need for a gear swap to change which motor is the output. You do gear changes in the gearbox and then output to your wheels/tires. Just building a 4 speed gearbox is complicated enough, no need to overcomplicate it further. Complex vehicles make the game struggle quite a bit and trouble shooting vehicle errors is kind of wonky, it just wont load or tell you where the problem is.
A bunch more chests are around the map. You just have to be close enough to them for it to reveal it by doing the races. You will reveal all the chests
19:40 Scrap, those suspension is almost like previous, just have better ground transmission/aka has more travel, so is slightly more soft and harder to broke in bigger jumps xD
