yknow i hardly ever see human unicorns outside of the mlp fandom!
Right?! And mlp doesn’t make human unicorns look awesome like how they should be portrayed 😤 so I think my unicorn warrior will show people that unicorn characters are truly the coolest and most magical characters ever! 😎✨

The section on silhouettes was SO helpful! It stops the brain from getting too zoned in on details too early in the design process.
Also I busted a gut laughing at the illustrated version of you dropping into oblivion with a cute little "whee" sound bit

Thanks for posting these videos. It's good to see how new people to the art industry are navigating the environment as it's an ever changing one and things that worked for someone 10 years ago may not be the case anymore...so keep it up and best of luck.
Thank you so much! And yeah the industry is constantly changing and the skill bar for entry level for artists like myself, is ever increasing. So I think its important to show other artists different ways of exploring designs. I have learned amazing techniques that I would have never explored or thought of if I didn't watch art tutorials from more experienced artists on UA-cam. So I am hoping to add to the collective knowledge and share some of my design experience and knowledge! 😎✨
Strongly agree !! COMPOUND interest is a thing before there was a lower bar of entry to the art industry ( it still being pretty high) look at riot splash arts from inception to now.

As a total newbie, silhouette seems like a great way to create something without getting frustrated that nothing looks cool when trying to build something
Silhouettes definitely make it easier since you only have to figure out the shape of your character and not all of the details that make up your character 💪 Just make sure you don’t get stuck in the never ending loop of making silhouettes for days on end cause news flash, you won’t have a design to show for after your days on end making silhouettes💀

i really was inspired by them too i made a character i have have ur lips sorta and it feels a lot better in the design! it was missing something... it felt of.. its funny where we pull inspo from :D

Do you btw have some tips for silhouette drawing? Mine really suck und I don't find lots of useful stuff for that online. Is there any way to make sure to get the gist of good silhouettes that resemble a character?

Could i ask what brush your using for the Silouhettes? it looks like some kind of Paint Brush type, do you know the name of it at all? like is it a watercolor brush, Thick paint brush etc.
It’s literally just the basic round brush, but I added pressure opacity and size with some shape dynamics 😂 but lemme know if you want me to throw it up on gumroad for free so that you don’t have to tweak around with brush settings 😎💖
What app are you using in this, I have been looking into getting an iPad and the only app I've been told about is procreate
I use Adobe Fresco because I already pay for the subscription and I can beam my files over to my pc quick and easy. But for anyone just getting started using the iPad, procreate is by far the best, but if you want something free you can try, Ibis Paint X, MediBang Paint, or Sketchbook
what size canvas do you use for silhouettes and image resolution
For the silhouettes I used 11x12 inches 300 dpi cause I like big canvases lol

how to start with the silhouttes? plz help. when i want to design silhoutte i always get stucked dont know how to what to do, whats the purpose of the silhouttes, if drawn silhouttes what to look in that how to use that silhoutte in further process, how to use shapes in silhoutte design, i am totally stucked in my thinking, dont have any ideas, even i give some direction to myself that also dont work. even if i look some existing silhoutte and try to make accordingly i automatically my mind go on the medium and smaller details and that increasees stress alot. plz help.

But honestly if you struggle with silhouettes, don’t even bother making them. Silhouettes are pretty much the exterior of a design and what making silhouettes helps you to do is 1, make your character more readable and 2, help up come up with design ideas when you don’t know where to start.
In the video I dive into more detail about how to use silhouettes effectively if you do want to learn how to make and use silhouettes. 🤗💖
