Just found your videos through Lexi’s channel - your friendship is beautiful! Books are such a special creation and wanting to spend time in the fantasy world is amazing. I’m there as well and escaping for a short time is a blessing. Thanks for sharing!
I'm super excited to read V.E Schwab's new release Gallant! It is pitched as a mix of Crimson Peak and Anne of Green Gables. I just received my pre-order and the illustrations are gorgeous.
Thank you for all the recommendations! I could not stop thinking about how you would love the French author Timothee de Fombelle, especially his book Tobi Alone. It is this beautiful book about tiny people that live on the tree but it gets into so many difficult themes. It is one of the books you can read in every part of your life and still feel like you are reading something new.
Yes!! Boundaries are super hard to set. I started setting boundaries when I was having a really bad mental crisis a year and a half ago. My mental health has been drastically improving since then even with a few family relationships being severed due to said boundaries. I wouldn't change my decisions for the world. I hope you continue to practice setting those boundaries even when it gets difficult. It will help you tremendously. Your well-being and happiness comes first. Much love and light to you while you continue your journey❤️🌻🌟
the way i SHRIEKED when you held up blankets!!!! it’s one of my favorite books of all time, let alone my favorite graphic novel. i really hope you love it!!! i know it’s huge but between being a graphic novel and being absolutely captivating i’ve always been able to get through it in a single afternoon each time i’ve read it ☺️☺️
Can we just take a second to appreciate your outfit, though? It's so cute! I actually have partially read the Snow Child; it was years ago. I was in the midst of a move and lost it. I recently got a copy of it again because it sounds interesting!
Good to see you with another book haul. Some books you might enjoy - Gail Carriger’s Parasol Protectorate series - alternate Victorian world with vampires and werewolves, the first book is called Soulless. Lots of fun. Also middle grade - an Australian author and Illustrator Judith Rossell has put out a trilogy under the banner of ‘A Stella Montgomery Intrigue’ book one is titled Withering-by-Sea. It is a Victorian fantasy adventure about 11 year old Stella. And I desperately want the atlas this book refers to!
I've got Six Crimson Cranes by Elizabeth Lim and I love the cover because the colours are giving me spring vibes with the blue and light pink colours. I'm definitely going to start that this month 💗💙💗💙💗💙
I think you would like the Well Met Series by Jen Deluca. It is a romance series involving a Ren Faire. There is spice because it is a romance. Also The Hating Game because it has a cute enemies to lovers storyline romance.
I read The Sweetest Oblivion last month and really enjoyed it! That's pretty much all I read is romance books. I'm not huge on mafia however it wasn't huge in the book which was a plus for me. I loved how angsty it was! Enjoy 😄
So glad you are back Kalyn! I read King of Scars and Rule of Wolves at the beginning of this year and loved them! If you’re a fan of the other books you will like these ☺️
I'm really glad you are back Kalyn. This was a fun book haul. I have yet to read The Love Hypothesis but I'm hoping to get to it soon. Once upon a broken heart was a whimsical fun read. It has been a difficult few months for me but things should pick up soon. I'm still yet to get to Six Crimson Cranes.
Yay you're back!!! Ugh that must have been so frustrating getting all your work reset to zero for no reason! 😩 A lot of good finds, that Picture of Dorian Gray is just stunning! Looking forward to more videos from you Kalyn, always love your content!!! ☺️💕
funny question but I would really like to dye my hair a similar color to yours! do you dye them on your own? do you have a specific hair dye to recommend? thank u!
The love hypothesis is such a good book omg😭 this book will literally give you butterflies. And if you love that book you should try out the Colleen Hoover books:)) she’s an amazing author
Glad you’re back! Living in a fantasy world is the best place to be. 🥰❤️ Have you read The Way Past Winter? It’s a middle grade based on Scandinavian and Russian mythology. It was a lot darker than I thought it would be, and the ending has a great twist. I loved it!
I would LOVE to know if you've read The A Court of Thorns and Roses series! If you haven't I really hope you read them and do a video of what you thought! Minimal spice, INCREDIBLE plot and wonderful characters!
I'm not sure if you've already read this but the snow child cover kind of reminds me of "For the wolf" a retelling of red ridinghood/beauty and the beast
Garden Spells is such a great book. I enjoyed the other book in the series. I think there was only 2 books, but I have read other books by that author and highly enjoyed them. Six Crimson Cranes was one of my favorite books of last year.
Garden Spell is sooooo good! I love magical realism. All of her books are good. Those fairy books are gorgeous! I read Set Boundaries last year. It's pretty good. Adding Once Upon a Broken Heart...really enjoyed the Caraval trilogy. So excited for Finlay. I have heard such a good reviews of that one. Just finished Rule of Wolves last night.
i’m so happy you uploaded!! i was literally just thinking yesterday that i was hoping you’d post a new video soon! also i absolutely love your outfit:)
Welcome back, Kalyn ❤. What a great haul, too. Out of all of the books you showed, I read The Love Hypothesis and Lore Olympus. I'm not sure what the draw is to Adam Driver...honestly, he doesn't turn my crank...but I agree with your opinion of Mr. Tom Hiddleston 😉. That cheeky smile and accent...🤤 LOL Anyhow...back to the books. The Love Hypothesis was a good book. I liked it. It's like a stick of dynamite...slow burn then BAM. I wish there was more BAM and a little less burn...LOL...but otherwise a great book. I've been reading the Webtoon of Lore Olympus, too...and I like it. I've never really been one to really get into Greek Mythology, but this graphic novel is pretty cute. I agree with you about how the author is making the relationship between Hades and Persephone such a cute one. I finished quite a few of the episodes, but I still have a lot to go. I'm liking it, though
Thank you for the recommendations! Definitely added some to my list to get to eventually after I conquer my own pile I’ve acquired. However, I absolutely love your peasant blouse and little lace up vest!! Where did you get it? Please and thank you 😁 Love your content!!💕
ahh yay so happy to see you!! ✨ you look AMAZING. i'm with you on escapism, i'm always trying to find fantasies to help me leave the world for a while. excited to add some of these to my list! i came across promises + pomegranates a few months ago on Amazon + just stared at the cover 😍 such a stunning book! i skip steamy books, but that might just be a cover buy lol!
Hi Kalyn - new sub, you were on my home page, and I love your hair! I'm also a redhead so now i have true hair goals lol! Looking forward to new exploring your content and see what you have coming up =)
Im currently reading The Faerie Handbook but as soon as I'm finished im gonna have to get Faeries of the Faultlines. I've never heard of it but it's STUNNING. I have started dipping my toes into spicy books as well...and i have read and hated Gods & Monsters lol. Made a drunk rant review and everything 😅. It was definitely a cover read for me because it was beautiful. The plot was extremely convoluted even for the genre and I would suggest reading one of the other two first and definitely check out the CWs for it if you do read it because there's alot including child sexual assault from a family member and suicidal ideation!!
Aww yay, you're back! 💚 Maaan I'm so glad you didn't have Dorian yet, you know I was paranoid. For whatever reason I was convinced your mom got it for you this year like I have psychic abilities, smh 🤪🙄.
When I was a teenager all I wanted was spicy books and they were kinda hard to find (no booktube or really any social media at all) and I didn't like harlequin romance so I read all kinds of crazy stuff I probably shouldn't have lol. Now that I'm an adult it doesn't interest me quite as much but I do enjoy it on occasion 😅
Well if you live in a fantasy world than so do I and a big portion of the rest of the world lol they’re just jealous they’re to cynical to be allowed in.. sorry hater 🤷🏼♀️
*rubs eyes* is the THE kalyn in my subscription box this morning?! 🥰🙌🏼
Hahaha aww it is it is!!! Miss you Liv 😭🥰

Finally someone talking about Garden Spells 😭❤️
I found your channel through Lexi and I am loving your content!!!! My TBR is growing so much 🥰
The Sweetest Oblivion is really good but the second book in the series, The Maddest Obsession is one of my favorite reads!
I’m also an escapist. I will make mine and my children’s lives as fairytale like as I can and I don’t feel an ounce of shame about it.
the way i SHRIEKED when you held up blankets!!!! it’s one of my favorite books of all time, let alone my favorite graphic novel. i really hope you love it!!! i know it’s huge but between being a graphic novel and being absolutely captivating i’ve always been able to get through it in a single afternoon each time i’ve read it ☺️☺️

If you look closely at the Dating Dr dill cover specifically at the chair that the girl is sat on, looks to be made of two hearts.

You look like lily from it ends with us! You should act in the series as lily
