I loved the organs old facade so much and am so sad to see it now stripped of its history. I recently asked Pat Searle if I could buy the two fiberglass mermaids from her but she said they were not for sale and the family were keeping them. very sad to see the organ now with that horrible new cheap looking front and disgusting nude figures.
wonder what tom varley would've thought of that! I can still see him now perched on a camping chair right in front of the organ. Tom Meijer's done some great arrangements, him and Clarke-Watts are my favourite especially on the more modern organs
