Hi Esme, I have been revising HOURS for my summer exams and listening to your podcasts have honestly helped me so so much. They help me focus so much and it’s so nice because I can listen to what you are saying while still focusing on revising. It honestly makes me look forward to revising because I can listen to your podcasts too! I revise for three hours after school and the time flies by! I honestly wish I had discovered your podcasts sooner. I just wanted to say thank you for that. ❤
Difference between breeches and jodhpurs: jodhpurs: for 12yo and younger, used with garter straps, are commonly used in the hunters, are a thicker material, and have straps for them to be pulled over the boots. Breeches are thinner material and is used for everyone older than 13.
Omg hi Esme! I’ve been watching your videos for just over five years now and although your riding has improved massively your fun and caring personality hasn’t changed at all! I can’t wait for you to get to 1 million! 💓
I LOVE this type of videos! I love just sitting down and having a fun chat while also having a good laugh! and I love when you make a bit longer videos like your "my horses try new foods" video!
I don't want to sound like a creep, but my gosh Gaby is absolutely STUNNING! Also you both are so funny! I loved this interview, especially you talking about blokes 🤣
This was a fun video to watch! Some of the terms used in the UK I had never heard of in Canada - now I use them too! I liked watching you two discuss it! 😀
Hiya, Esme i love your videos so much you inspire me to ride more and your kind and funny you never fail to keep us intertained, keep up the great work and achieve your goals and dreams! xx
Beautiful barn and grounds! I think esme is talking about something outside called a run in shed. Its something that horses when they live outside use for shelter ( im from the USA but i was a stable hand at a few different barns for a long time). Thats true in the usa too about having to wear white breaches at a dressage show . I was a stable hand at a public dressage boarding barn from 2008 to 2019.
I'm Irish and honestly I'd usually say that I'm going to the yard but if not I'd say that I'm going to the stable And I have worn a hairnet like maybe once for like three seconds while trying on a helmet at a shop Also I never realised that not everyone used rubber in their arenas And I know it's not a UK thing really but in Ireland we'd say t'is grand. And it means that it's ok or good.
In the US jodhpur’s are the long riding pants with the fold up cuff worn with paddock (short) boots. Breeches are worn with tall boots and are usually fitted at the ankle.
U.S.... jodhpurs are pants for riding horses. They have a lot of room in the hip/thigh area and taper to more slim fitted on calf of leg. :D Look them up for a direct photo! :D
Hi Esme, I got all 3 of your books and I'd say it's one of the best I've read! I love Summer, Jessie and Ellie. I am reading the first book right now. I read the back and I'm so sorry you struggled with school, but look how far you've come! I've always wanted my own horse, but when I rode my first horse I broke my hand (it was my friends horse) so I'm kinda nervous to ride again.
I always ride in hair nets when I am not schooling at home! Thats another thing in the US. Everyone wears a hairnet then they are over 13 years. But a lot of people do just put their hair in the hairnet and flip it into my hairnet. It does itch but I've gotten used to it.
In Virginia we say horse trailer as there are very differ t types of trailers for other animals or for vehicles. So a horse trailer means any type of thing that holds a horse. We don’t do those loire van things. No one sells them. Very rare.
@@chuckthebrindlepittie6820 I hope I didn't come across as nasty that wasnt my intention! I was just impressed that such a thing existed (especially with the cost of fly spray). I'm australian so we dont have big barns in the same way as you guys do in america - most places are very small with only a handful of boxes or 24/7 turnout (we are quite lucky with our weather here it doesnt usually get too cold or wet), it'd be really handy though with how bad the flies get over here. I have worked in some fancy racing stables though that use red lights to keep their coats gorgeous year round and I thought that was very cool and snazzy!
Wear I'm from, well at least the partbifbmy state that i live in, alot of barns share lease horses bc the only nice horse place where i live " near" me is the fairgrounds
There are many strange word translations from English to “American” English. When I was young my trainer and role model was British, so I learned the British term for things. Going to the tack store was a challenge because they didn’t know what I meant. Numnah= saddle pad. Market Holborough ?spelling is a German Olympic running martingale. Headcollar vs halter. Menage? Vs arena. 😂 Oh so many things
I think half the cultural disconnect is because you're in wellington lol, so from a could-never-afford-wellington american rider: jodhpurs are kid's breeches (over the boot), the 18-wheelers aren't common enough to have a horse-specific term yet, field shelters are called run-ins (they're a very common alternative to barns with stalls), barns without an internal aisle are still just barns, and most people do not train in hairnets. In ny where it'll be below freezing for weeks no one uses rubber in their arenas and they never freeze, idk what marketing convinced the uk that was necessary. split leases are pretty common in lower tax brackets, and there are lots of small private farms with english riders throughout the east.
Petition to stop people saying "First!!"

It is good for esme, it boosts the algorithm. Short n easy thing to comment. But I do find it annoying 😂

What a dream to ride in america, looks like somewhere out of a movie
only in wellington and lexington though, everywhere else looks pretty average
Most places in America are not like that.
