My God, Daisy's characterisation in this game is incredible. The fact that she starts to have a meltdown and calls herself a klutz in her double bogey animation, only to take a deep breath and then tells herself to get it together is possibly more character than she's had any other game.
Brawl - It was understandable. Both Wario & Assist Trophies were being introduced to the series. Even though Waluigi couldn't make it as a fighter, at least he could still somehow show his stuff in battle. Smash 4 - Almost every major Mario character is playable, but Waluigi is still just an Assist. Little Mac's promotion gives hope for next time, though. Ultimate - Sakurai has a vendetta against Waluigi at this rate. Why else would he add Daisy & Piranha Plant and promote Dark Samus & Isabelle, but still keep Waluigi in Assist Trophy prison.

All i can say is that mario tennis aces is much better than mario golf super super rush, they missed the opportunity, the generic animations of mario golf super rush shows that it was a rushed game, it was supposed to be one of the games in the mario sports series, but, that's not what happened, it's just camelot software planning will not falter in the next mario sports.

The Mario Golf World Tour ones are the best in the series.
Alot of these are poorly animated. More expressive sure, but not much else. Also I can see why they toned it back, its Golf.
