Yeah, I made a Pandora station of them and have heard all their songs. I agree, their new record is pretty effed up. They ditched symphonic death metal and decided to go pop on us. Ugh. Shinedown did that too.

I love how they can have some heavy head banging metal songs, and then have songs like this that are absolutely beautiful. All of their songs have such good meaning to them. I'm really in love with this band. Just saw them yesterday in Atlanta to, front row, dead center. I adore them so much.

I had the same experience when i first listened to Nightwish, made me feel emotional and all the hairs were up on my neck lol and I was in my late fourties.

Check out Battlebeast. They were supposed to be touring with Amaranthe until well.. covid. But I'm the same age range as you, and first time I heard Battlebeast in concert I immediately just found another beloved band. It's so much the Rock from our childhood. I was having visions of HEAVY METAL go through my head, along with all the great hard rock of the early 80s.

I absolutely love the power of the message in the video and how it lines up with the lyrics. Seeing the little dancer (Young Elize) and the hockey player (Young Nils) grow up, fighting for their dreams and never giving up just made my day

The end of this video gets me every time because I'm looking at my daughter looking at her electric motorbike much in the same way as I did some 25 years ago. Now, all these years on I own my "big boy bike" (that's what I called it as a youngster. The bike I own now was formerly my father's machine) What a wonderful message this song has. Full of hope and faith in the future

I gotta be honest: I'm impressed how they managed to find a kid that actually looked like a young Reid. It's those little things (you'd be surprised how often this is overlooked in cinematography!) that help glue the narrative.
