Girl! You straighten you hair after you put coconut oil 😩😩😩 that’s like a big no lol. You can’t add heat after you put oil on your hair. You are cooking it lol
mscarlalo right.... especially everything she put her hair through bleaching it 1200000 times. Wow. Needs to stick with going to a salon.
Yeah she needs a treatment
I just watched this video and CRINGED at that part. That's quite literally, by definition, frying her hair.
Sorry but no, it looked awful.
Did an amazing job. It’s her hair she does it the fuck she likes I loved it
Hey there! You’re doing a great job on your own. As a professional hairdresser in NYC allow me to make a suggestion. With your toner you are using a 20 Volume developer, which LIFTS the hair (especially the root area). Therefore ALWAYS leaving you warmer (yellow) in that region. Instead, opt for a DEPOSIT only developer. Wells color charm makes one. It’s a processing solution! 10 VOLUME or below is the way to go for you!!!
hey so if i understood well, using a 20 vol developper will give a warmer look to the hair ?
hey there :) صوفيا i dye my hair constantly and my moms a hairdresser haha so i might be able to help u out, what she means is 20vol is very strong and lifts the hair to a yellow tone (bc any type of lifting will make u yellow/orange) but using a 10vol only deposits the color with zero lift, meaning youre just dropping the color onto your hair and not making it lighter :)
@@kaitdorsey6507 oooh okay I understand hahah thank you so much Kait!
kait dorsey I do hair and you explained this super well honestly I don’t get the fact of people using the strong Wella colors when it really works best and is way less damaging with a 10 volume and demi permanent color as it is but you deposit the color correctly when you do it this way to get the color needed
Michaela Lenae Hey, i dont really understand what you guys mean :(... I have a little Problem could you maybe please if you have time help me out? I died my hair 3 months ago from my natural color (an ashy light brown to a darker brown ( loreal toronto) but it turned my hair kinda brown/reddish, so i decided to then dye it completely black for some stupid reason and ended up regretting it 😂🤦🏼. So then i thought yeah ok lets just bleach it back to light. I did that, and my hair was obviously orange/yellow looking like i expected so then i directly dyed it ashy blonde. It was looking really nice and ashy for about 2-3 weeks. After that, the color just washed out orange. So then i put in a dark blonde dye and like always it looked good for the first 2-3 weeks until the color washed out simply yellow. (By the way it was permanent hair dye from the drugstore.) I was really confused since i had never dyed my hair before on why its always turning either orange or yellow. So finally, i decided to dye my hair one last time. I mixed a dark ashy brown with an ashy light brown together and dyed my hair one last time. Now, 3 weeks later its like a light brown with some yellow reflections (idk how to describe it) but its just some fine little yellow reflections when i go in the sun. I find it the way it looks right now okay but i would still like to get completely rid of the yellow reflections in my hair. Could you maybe help me out? :) i would love to go to a hair dresser but my hair is pretty long and it would cost me here a ton of money to get my hair done which i dont have...
i would be very happy to get an answer on which toner or shampoo i get used to get rid of the yellow in my hair... Thank you already for the help :)
T14 works better on orange hair . It has a blue violet base . T18 is good for yellow banana peel hair .
Donna Smith ok so I kinda have a lil problem. I bleached my hair and I toned my hair with the wella t15 by accident thinking it was the T14 because I was going to do my hair a pastel pink. However... My hair is slight yellow gold blonde 😣. I left it on for about 8 mins and washed it out and that is what I got left with. This was not the toner color I wanted to achieve, I wanted something like t14 or t18 so it can catch to my pastel pink. So I did not do the pink after all and left as is which is a light yellow gold blonde in my opinion. So can I tone my hair again right after the misteak of doing the t15 and re tone again with the t14 or t18? I really want to do my hair pastel pink and don't want it a dark pink because of the t15 that mistakenly did? Can you tone twice in one day or do I have to wait wks until or how can I go about This? Thank you in advance 😊
Pix Thanks for the reply & advice!!
D Trevino it is always a good idea to do a hot oil or other deep conditioning treatment before doing anything that can really damage your hair. And it is better to get it cut afterwards so any damage hair can be removed especially if you are getting an inch or more removed.
A T 18 IS GOOD FOR ORANGEY HAIR LOL IS TONES BRASSINESS
@@delsy_222 I do bleach wash with 10vol. It lifts the perminate or demi out u can literally rub out the dye it takes mine 5min I took out the end of midnight blue black (it was grey )and yesterday I toned my hair with lavender moon and I hated it so it got another bleach bath n I returned my extra for wellat18.. saturate it hair in coconut oil n they have a booster from ion u can add to the dye
I’m crying at the pic of you with orange hair staring at the camera😂😭😭😭😭 the pain in ur eyes

her humor made me subscribe ,,i love her attitude
Putting coconut oil on your hair and then applying heat can damage it even more because it is a cooking oil! I suggest any deep condition treatment after to treat damaged hair! But I love the lavender color on you!
It's not just cooking oil but yes used for cooking. Coconut oil has been around for ages and was used for health and beauty long before it made it's way to the kitchen
@@MermaidAleshaAmor I think she means because shes applying heat that's about 400 degrees from her iron its heating the oil and literally frying her hair like a piece of chicken. Coconut oil is great for hair but not with heat that high!
@@shaylynabramson6390 Shaylyn Abramson Oh totally! I completely missed that point of her statement. Yes, using anything except a blow dryer with coconut oil will totally fry your hair at that temp. The only oils that work with heat styling without doing damage to you hair are:
Grapeseed oil
Avocado oil
Sweet Almond Oil
Olive oil
My fault. I thought she was saying that it shouldn't be used on hair at all and that it was just for cooking. Which it's not. It's actually great for your hair as long as you don't try to deep fry your hair by adding a heating element. Lol. Hope that clears up my comment.
Samantha H I just thought exactly the same. Her hair color looks good but it looks not natural straight and not healthy at all. not shinny.
suggestion: Use the coconut oil on the ends PRIOR to using the toner. This will help prevent the purple colored ends
Your roots are more orangey. If you use a teal dye super diluted in conditioner and only apply to the orangey part it works much better. Blue cancels orange, Purple cancels yellow, Green cancels red.
You did pretty good! May I add a few suggestions!!!
Use a 10 developer. Toner is a deposit only. No need to use 20! And is easier on your hair.
Start at your ends not your scalp. Hit up the darkest areas first. Then work from ends to scalp.
30 mins is the maximum amount of time to leave on hair. You need to actually sit in front of a mirror and watch it. You want to wash it out just has it starts to turn dark purple. Yes. This means you need to work pretty fast. But end result will be 1 even all over color. With no purple toner trails!💕💖💗💋💋
Joyel Lee hi there :) ..thanks for the tips ..but I was wondering doesn't she want to start at the roots ? Cause that's where it's the darkest on her ..the orange ..if she starts on the ends ..they will be purple and it won't do anything to the roots ..well not much ..i always only leave it on my ends for a few mins. .if not it won't be even ... my ends and hers are the lightest :) ...just a thought :)
She said she likes it. So shusiushshshshsuhshshs
Theres a brand that actually has a 5vol developer!
The toner calls for 20 volume.
The toner she used Wella-T18 calls for 20 volume, it is considered a permanent toner. It is intended for extremely light yellow hair. It lifts the yellow and deposits purple. Wella T14 is for slightly darker orange hair.
toning shampoos actually can strip protein from your hair if youre not careful which is why after bleaching its always a good idea to give your hair a break.
Sarah Deeznuts exactly... purple shampoos can be drying.. and this is why! Especially shimmer lights, it’s terrible!
yeah i just get purple ink and add it to a shampoo that i trust and it works better. hope i’m not like...ruining my shit lol 0.0
what are you people doing? purple shampoo is not a dye, its a shampoo... you're not suppose to use it as a dye, it will stain your hair purple, you're just suppose to WASH YOUR HAIR with it, it works gradually, you can soap it up like regular shampoo keep in on for 10min and rinse... but not paint it directly on the hair like that
Lol OMG RIGHT. she did say shes not a pro...yikes
LOL some of us are trying to get the brassiness out within 1-3 uses, so yeah painting it on like that and leaving it for about 30 mins will take out almost ALL the brassiness in one use. Shes using the shampoo as a toner which you DO leave in your hair. It needs time to pull the yellow out.
Why can’t it go on dry hair?
How long did she leave the shampoo on? Will the purple hint fade? In how long?
This is exactly how i use my purple shampoo to tone my hair. It works and it washes out so no damage
Lol that popping up in bed, "I want to be blonde" is ME. 😁😁😁
After you have toned your hair, use the purple shampoo every time you wash your hair to keep the brassiness at bay. Just use the usual amount of shampoo not half a bottle! If you want it to turn lilac, leave it on longer before rinsing. I also use a purple conditioner. Then, I use a tiny amount of hair mask as a leave-in conditioner before drying and styling.
Hey! I’m a stylist :) on your roots put a Demi level 6/7 blue base. It will give you a shadow root and fix that brass , good luck!
Just a quick FYI lol purple shampoo does damage your hair. It removes protein in your hair( that’s what toner does to shift the tone) it’s not as bad as chemical dyes or even bleach but it does
So with the toner that you used .. ur using a 20 developer... it will lift.. causing more damage. If you ever wanna time again I️ saw this from a UA-cam but makes sense to me cuz I️ went to cosmetology school
Go to Sally’s Buy wella DEMI permanent in a blonde ASH shade similar to urs .. it’ll have a blue line on the box and mix that with the wella developing lotion and apply to ur hair like your applying color ... leave it on and it’ll tone your hair a lot more even and won’t cause as much damage.. the Demi color has blue undertones and will cancel out the yellow.
do you apply that on damp or dry hair?
works waaaaaaay bestter with 10 developer :) and leave it on for complete half hr. BOMB results
I had the banana peel color in my hair after bleaching. I used the wells T18 and it took off the yellow/orange I had on my hair. It also turned it a beautiful dusty lilac on the back of my hair. Got a lot of compliments!
Loved the boyfriend part.A keeper.
Lmfao😂😂😂😂 i love the way she talk straight up...love this girl..
40 seconds in and can totally relate 😂😂😂😂 you're hilarious! Sat here currently with orange balayage and wanting to fix it 😂😂😂
I really like how the color came out, the hint of purple looks cute. Btw, l like how u edited this vid☑️👏😀
This doesnt even look good. You left the purpule shampoo way too long it looks violet
I tone my hair while it's dry, the toner lasts much longer that way.
OMG. Thanks for the colorful HONEST language!!! Soooo Appreciated!!!
Omggg you’re frying your ends 😱 I suggest to NOT put coconut oil prior to flat ironing hair😖 after or just air dryyyy
If your hair after bleaching is an orange tone, you use wella T14 (blue base). If your hair is more of a yellow tone after bleaching, use wella T18 (purple/violet base). If you put T14 on yellow hair, it will turn slightly green.
Oh girl......shimmering lights will make your hair like sand paper. Splurge and get redKen for silver Hair and the conditioner and you’ll be sooooooo happy!! It’s a 100000 x better and really toning and conditioning, now....lose that hot iron with oil in it!! Yikes! For sooooo many NOOOOO items you did, girl, you had an angel on your shoulder so congrats! You’re a hero for girls that are afraid and don’t know where to start but you truly got a great rep at Sally cuz they aren’t all that awesome♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
No shade, this is why we go to beauty school, graduate & test for a cosmetology license. Then we get the clients that want us to correct the work. It's harder to correct than initially do the work. It may seem & look easy, but there's a science, chemistry & art to it.
You might like my method girl. I like to wash my hair with purple shampoo as per the bottle. When I get out, I’ll towel dry my hair until it’s just damp. I then apply the purple shampoo all over so it takes less shampoo. Sleep with a bag on it over night, wake up and wash it out.....I love the purple tones you get in it.
BTW purple shampoo just makes already toned hair purple-if you want blonde-the toner is sufficient. You won't likely need purple shampoo until like a week or two later when the toner starts to fade and the brass starts to show to use in the interim-before you tone or color again. Although I wouldn't recommend bleaching/coloring more than once a month. And condition the hell out of your hair or it will break and feel like straw or retain moisture to the point where it won' even dry! Tried tested and true.😊
Get manic panic ultra violet dye and mix it with conditioner and leave it on for 45 mins. This last way longer and you get more uses out of 1 container
LOL IM DOING THIS RNNN
30-45 mins depending on your hair & how toned you want it. Make a video of it:)
manic panic is terrible please don’t do this if you ever want to change your hair again excluding drying it darker
IndieKaylee I’m not talking about using it to dye your hair. I’m talking about mixing a drop into conditioner to take away the yellow and gold tones. Trust me I know my hair.
Never try manic panic in conditioner i applied the smallest drop and it ruined it. Oh and i did it cause i saw it on youtube ... so NOOOOOO
Lesson learned go to a stylist.
Dyed my hair dark brown (I'm a natural blonde), but it faded into a very yellow-y brassy blonde. Did your toning trick with my purple shampoo, left it on for even less than 10 min, and voila, perfection!! Thank you for the inspiration, and for keepin' it real ;) xoxo
Kristin Steinike randomly looked at my comments to see this lovely response. Glad I could help my dear !!
Your video was a gift, truly. Thanks, beautiful!!!
I loved the haircolour before you used the purple shampoo. When it comes to the brassy roots...what about shadow roots? Like a light ash brown maybe. I think it would suit you a lot, because of your dark eyebrows. But I guess it is not relevant any more ;-)
infernalmelody exactly. Like an Ombre kinda. Good thinkong
Unfortunately your regrowth didn't even tone. And I'll tell you why. It's because it still needs to be lightened by bleach. It was past the yellow stage into the gold orange range. Your hair turnes purple also because dry bleached hair sucks up color. All you need to do is put it on wet and leave it in at least 10 minutes.
Cute. I love the purple shade
Just wanted to give you a heads up, putting purple shampoo on dry hair and leaving it on for an extended period, will F your hair. It dries the scalp, strips out the oils and breaks down the protein. You'd be better off just toning normally, using a purple shampoo on wet hair once a week and using a decent hair treatment regularly to help the health of your hair. Olaplex No3 is a bit pricey, but is so worth it.
I'm not hating or trying to tell you what to do, I'm honestly just trying to help. I used to do the same same "hack" with the toning shampoo until I told my hair stylist and he almost fainted lol
You out here saving lives.
I'm living the same situation right now ! Went to my hairdresser 2 weeks ago but the color of my balayage was too warm for me so I decided to put some purple manic panic on my hair this morning and yaaaaaaaaaay its purple ! Not all my hair but in the front of my head. So now I'm just tired, don't even know what to do 🤦🏻♀️ think that I'm gonna leave them alone and try to ignore those purple parts 🙈
next time mix ppl shampoo with regular conditioner and some water, it will be less purple
Use the purple shampoo on wet hair. It distributes more evenly and the wet allows it to penetrate better. It's a shampoo, not a toner. It's really meant to buy time between toning.
After watching over 10 videos about My same hair disaster and purchasing Wella T18, within 5 minutes of using product( exactly as instructed), my beautiful long hair fell out. It has taken 1 year to get new hair back , I learned to never take advice from videos and let a professional handle my hair . This product may have worked for these ladies, it didn’t not for me... lost my hair, lost my self esteem
Alisa Stephens I’m sorry you had to learn the hard lesson - why we go to Cosmetology School and do constant continued education... thank you for posting your experience.
Also the purple shampoo has a conditioner that you can use instead
Informative. Took some of the mystery out of toning. I may even attempt to tone my own hair one day. I likes ur hair color way better before u put the purple shampoo on.
I absolutely love your hair! I am on the same boat. Do whatever works for you and don't mind the haters. Can't please everyone...it takes courage to put yourself out there but it takes absolutely nothing (probably just an ugly heart) to be a troll. Keep up the awesome work!
Wella T18 turned my almost white with a tad yellow bleached blonde straight up gray silver! I hated it. I had to bleach it again. Now its white with some light pale yellow but Idc I can't find a toner and I dont want beige. I want cool platinum pillow white like marylin monroe.
Did you have a lot of breakage in the front parts of your hair from the bleaching? Is that why they’re so short/bluntly cut?
To prevent as many purple tones you can also add some blue shampoo
There’s a reason why it costs $200 to get your hair done in a salon. People have been trained to do this with minimum damage to the hair. Just think, your time, product cost, several days to get it right and trips back and forth to buy more products. Total it up and you’ve already spent $200. Save yourself the headache, at least when going blond.
It doesn't have to be dry. I'm a hair stylist and I tone wet hair all the time at the shampoo bowl
I love you as a lavender blonde!
Hmmmm you'd look AMAZING with silver hair.
Great video - thanks for posting! Your hair looks really good. I read vodka works too for getting rid of brass but haven't tried it.
I Like platinum hair BTW but that just means the cleaner and brighter the better. BTW I dont have platinum now what I did is bought a permanent hair dye I Color by ISO and mixed iwith 30 developer and painted lots of cute highlights mostly around my face and got sort of balayaged look meaning there all sorts of colors in my hair but it's well blended (you back comb for a fuzzy look)
You are are so darn cute and have a great personality. You’re witty and likable and that will carry you far in all aspects of your life.
HILARIOUS FREAKING STORY. I am about to tone my hair and watched this, and the picture at 1:23 is my little sister 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Yur suppose to use the purple shampoo on WET hair. You wouldn't have purple hair if you did it wet. And you don't let it sit on your head long.
Not true, I only use purple on dry hair, it's da best
Emma Roth dude it’s called purple SHAMPOO it’s literally shampoo and I don’t know bout you but I don’t put shampoo on my hair dry
I use it on dry hair. It can be used on wet and dry hair. Says it on the bottle.
Yeah what i was thinking i remember my hair stylist telling me that it has to somewhat a little wet to work well
Can someone answer for how long I should let the purple shampoo sit?
I am not a perfectionist either... but girl, those two different hair cuts gotta get evened out!
An LOB would be gorgeous on you ♡
Girl, I used that exact boxed color to bleach my daughter’s hair after a stylist charged $460 to take her hair from purple to blonde. It was bright orange at the roots and yellow, pink and green. I put the box color on and now I’m about to tone it with Wella T18 and 10 developer. We will then use the purple shampoo. Holy shit that stylist messed up her hair and now I’ve got to fix it at home
Did it work?
Inti Rocha Yes! Like a dream
I make my own by putting a little bit of manic panic or adore violets and/or blues (depending on my hair) in with some white conditioner. Conditions the hair and deposits a diluted violet or blue for toning.
This is seriously the best video O have watched on getting hair white. You remind me so much of myself.
you must be awesome then HAHAHAA
I got that shampoo yesterday 😂 I decided to bleach my hair as close to level 9 or 10 before I dye it blue with purple highlights. Don't know why but I decided to go from virgin black hair to bright colors
Did it work? I want to do the same
@@clarettegt153 might
Might.
aw this was the first video I watched after my bleaching hair journey
you can also get a pretty cool or neutral blonde hair color to put in just make sure it doesnt have any warm tones in it, or too much ash.
just bleached my hair today... its true what they say blondes do have more fun!
Lmfao. I love you. This is exactly my experience and I’ve been laughing since the start and I’m only a minute in lol you’re hilarious
Btw good training your boyfriend to help with hair. I wish mine would but he's too old to learn .
Dude the getting out of the bed cameo CRACKED me up
I prefer the original. The after is gray purple and if you like that, go for it.
Heat can strip dye and toner too, using a straightener or blow drier turns it brassy
Shimmer lights dryed my hair out worse than toner :(, I’d definitely recommend matrix more
Most purple shampoos are very drying they're only supposed to be used to tame the brassiness.
Its cheaper to just to violet/purple shampoo/conditioner. It tones your hair too.
Best tutorial yet now I completely understand how to get rid of the orange.. .thanks!!
GIRL LMAOOO you are hilarious !! I needed this video and loved this so muchhh ! Thank you !!!
But ur roots were still orangey. If that's all you want just use the wells t-50 with the t-28. Awesome and better longer lasting better looking hue of purplish. To get rid of orange roots you have to re bleach them to a yellow or to same as the rest of ur hair. Then tone as usual.
Careful bleaching roots they bleach faster bc of heat from ur head.
So I used violet bleach a 20 developer and a t18 toner I have white hair and orange roots how soon can I redo my roots. I'm day 2 with my roots like this. I'd appreciate a comment back it would help me forever.
@@Cocopuffs12344 you can do the roots over the same day

I totally Love Love your videos! You keep it so real! Others could learn from you on how keeping it real is the realist of realist! 😄❤️
No sugar coating😁
Not supposed to leave the purple that long, hence you got the purple tones
Y'all it's the f*cking L'oreal Feria crap I'm telling you. This is my second time using it and screwing up my hair even though I was already blonde (just wanted to go to levels up). Still orange. Now I got to go to Sally's (WHICH I KNEW I WAS SUPPOSE TO DO IN THE FIRST PLACE) and get toner I'm fuming.
Courtney Kline same here !!!!!
Okay no.
You need to add the shimmer shampoo into a normal conditioner
Lmfao every damn time, I've gone from black to blonde a lot... and every time I'm shocked by the orange xD
All the people saying the coconut oil is frying her hair don't know what they are talking about it is a natural heat protectant.
WOW I love you
❤
I feel like everybody is different whatever works for you use it
Purple shampoo IS VERY DRYING to your hair. The best thing to do is get finola no yellow and mix it with aussie 3 Minute miracle and let it sit. There is a 30.00 purple conditioner mask on Amazon that works well.
But the pravana or finola are the best toning shampoos, but they dry your hair so mix them with a good conditioner.
To get the purple out, just use a clarifying shampoo. The V05 brand has a cheap clarifying shampoo.
When you have a lot of purple in your hair and you want to get rid of it you can put 10 parts of the toner along with one part or less of powder bleach and pour it over your hair it will wash away the purple
How long you left the purple toner?
Girl, You are absolutely amazing! I learned a lot from watching this video alone. Keep it coming! xoxo
appreciate it ! been eating a TON of hate comments on this video so this one brightens my day :)
@@SamanthaWarner It takes a lot of courage to be out there knowing not all will like you. But, for the reason alone that you have saved me time, effort and money to go through the process, you deserve a shout out! I think you're just great ☺ Keep doing what you love!
Thanks gal! You just answered so many questions I had after attempting to go lighter with my hair!
Tonnig really don't cause damage it's the bleach that does that
I don't like purple shampoos and purple toners they don't work well, I like shades eq more cleaner and less gray results and you know why? Because purple can't tone orange so your color is muddy. On the other hand shades eq has LOTS of other pigment other than violet (just use it with Clear Also) and I like a more clean result
Ms Viking hey, where do you by the eq toners?

Violet literally counteracts gold
You have to be a professional, Salon Centric
A blue base toner or shampoo can help tone orange ... purple based works better for yellow/gold

The purple looks so good!!! And you guys make such a cute couple!! My boyfriend would never! 🙄😂 easier to have one of my kids help. 🤣
Purple shampoos are very drying. You should only do that if it really comes down to it. You don't need a 20 developer. It's just toning so you can use a 10 and it's not that damaging. Don't iron your hair after applying oil. You are literally cooking your hair. Just don't make awful videos anymore.
What a great boyfriend 😭😍
When the purple shampoo washes out, does the orange come back?
Girl, i love your personality. If you want to learn to cut mens hair, I'll teach you. You would fit right in at my barber shop. 🥰
The shampoo sitting on wet hair isnt healthier my guy. It strips the natural oils from your hair, I learned it the hard way. But hey i guess if it works keep doing it :)
Then toner doesn't work if you have to use purple shampoo
I try wella & follow instrictions but doesn't work
