Oh contraire, God hates gays, and much of that beloved music you refer to was written by gays! Music never came from "God." It came from the great talent and genius of men. You'd argue that God created men, so therefore by default...but some of us know better. God is a fairy tale and mankind, like all life on earth, is the product of evolution.
So surreal to think this was just a week or two before everything shutdown. What a wonderful memory! Missing playing music with everyone in the orchestra ❤️
what a wonderfully beautiful work with the piano taking center stage it's a shame that all the old composers aren't around to hear their compositions turn from dream to reality- and back to a dream again in our heads.
O que impressiona em Florence é sua capacidade de sintetizar o sentimento, a alma americana, a verdadeira América mãe. Tal inconsciente, captado por Dvorak, um estrangeiro, anos antes, já existia e a compositora o explicitou.
The wonderfulness of this performance she plays with exquisite skill is irreplaceable , and incomparable, and full of admiration and emotion. In this orchestra, all is full of far superior splendor
I wonder why this Concerto is presented as being In One Movement, while clearly a slow movement (Adagio) is separating the first and third parts (from 7:40 to 13:15), , albeit by very short pauses.
It’s similar to the Liszt Concerti in that sense- there are clear sections /“movements” but they are to played attaca, creating a very cohesive monolithic structure
... this wonderful female (blackcoloured) composer should be more heard in Europe, too (symphonies, violinconcertos etc.)... a very fine reading... listen to the various UA-camPostings ...
Libi Lebel conducting Lulu Liu sounds sure to be combustible.
Best American composer in my opinion.
This is being played at the BBC Proms in London this year
Music is how you know there is ... God. Bravo!

Libi Lebel and Lulu Liu, can’t make up two better alliterative names to collaborate!
Aside from that, they also sound good. A winner!
Ahhh...The unique and true "American" sound.

Just heard of this composer thanks to a Curious City podcast from NPR. Cool stuff and I'm glad to see her works being performed!

Price, sempre magnífica, prestigiada por competentes intérpretes.

I heard this on the radio, WCRB, and was quite impressed. A fantastic piece of music and beautifully performed in this video.
WCRB again. Tonight at 9:29 PM. January 3, 2023. Karen Walwyn, piano, with the New Black Music Repertory Ensemble. American music at its finest.

Sadly another hidden figure in American history.
Absolutely. She should be much better known. Check out her violin concerto.
I wish someone has choreographed the last movement in dance form...
Is the recently rediscovered original orchestration by the composer?
it doesn't match with the score published by schirmer... that's all i can say for now.
@@fyrexianoff I think that Schirmer has both.

I assumed by the name Florence the composer was female. Nice piece! Shows how much I know. PWG
She was, Florence Beatrice Price, she was African American as well.
We don't need camera angles like this - please show some respect.
