Never seen this version of XP! Fascinating!!
Did you know theres also a Windows vista starter edition and Windows 7 starter edition?
Yes I might make a video on those one day
But funnily enough, Windows XP Starter Edition is much more akin to Windows 7 Home Basic, which was also exclusive to developing markets, than Windows 7 Starter Edition. Windows 7 Starter was for netbooks.
fun fact, they also had a version of windows 8/8.1 that was a "starter" version, it's called Windows 8.1 With Bing
@@JoBot__ interesting
iirc I had to install a few builds of VLC prior to what you downloaded to get it installed on windows xp
Why would they limit the system specifications? Because wouldn’t most computers even in the developed world have wildly different system settings?
I think its because they only shipped this to specific OEM's and told them what to run it with
I forgot what was edition of Windows XP I use. Perhaps Home edition. Sorry, I just completely forgot 😅
Introducing Microsoft Window 12 Starter Edition. Now limited to one window. Also check out the all new Microsoft Widow where you can’t have child windows.
Hi, great video
I knew some exchange students back in the day, some had this starter with there native language - they relied on email and word for most things
The other students who were "rich" has laptops, but they all had one thing in common, they all had the same pirated university copy of windows XP or 7 and office and other software - it was a educational keyed installation and at one stage had over 30,000 active / simultaneous sessions - but because the key was legit to that countries government education - they did not block it
At the same time, i had 2 children in school, and they bought home in voucher for the school version / educational discount - i did purchase 2 copies of the educational version - i think it cost me the equivalent of 1 hours salary for each license - only ever install one version for my son as the older PC was not up to spec - it is still in the cupboard all these years later with the 2003 office that was given to me but keys printed on the jacket dont work
Just wondering what happened if you drag out one of the new tab in the supermium to create the new window while there is already 3 window opened. Will it creates fourth window or it would just fail?
I think it will just fail
I think it limits to 3 programs with windows, but if one program has two windows, it still only counts as one
I build xp rigs for fun on my free time so I love seeing things on this I might try this on some old laptops
It's Windows 2000 with a Bloated Interdace
Came on EVERY WalMart Compaq
More precisely, a _modified_ Win2000 that was able to run XP drivers
I mean that's basically every edition of Windows XP tbh
@@AlexandruLipan in the sense that XP developed out of Win2000, sure? But Starter Edition is still very much Windows XP, IE8 and Supermium running fine are evidence of that since neither run on Windows 2000. It didn't even launch until 2004.
No Walmart compaq computers came with XP Home/Pro. At least the ones I seen.
I like this version, so much junk missing.
Ohh, Windows XP Starter Edition is like Windows 7 Home Basic.
Rather like 7 Starter. There was one for Netbooks.
@@Canleaf08 I know that already, I have a Windows 7 Starter netbook.
Windows XP Starter Edition is more like Windows 7 Home Basic because they were both watered down versions of Windows exclusive to developing markets.
Classic = Best theme
True
Windows 7 Aero Theme = best theme ever
(in my opinion)
High Contrast = Best theme
wait until he finds out about Windows Embedded POSReady 2009
A blessing for XP users, POSReady 2009 updates could be installed on XP with almost zero effort, so they could get updates all the way until 2019 when Microsoft finally ended support
It was on so many cheap netbooks!
It didn't have 3D Pinball, despite it being in the games menu?!
I honestly frogot it was even there I recorded those pieces weeks apart
xp s mode
Great video
