  • See how we are bringing the past alive with our new film that takes you from the burial ground at Sutton Hoo, across the river Deben and into the Longshed where the ship gracefully appears, piece by piece before being launched and rowed on the water.

A very realistic video of what it will be like when the ship is out on the water. Keep the video clips coming!

Congratulations on a very high quality CGI effort. I have not been a fan of a lot of the Sutton Hoo ship reconstruction videos. I think this video is a nice step in the right direction. Narration would have made this video much better. When did the effort start? About when will the maiden voyage be? Who is working on it? Who is in charge? Do you envision that tourists might be able to pay to row it? How close is it to the original? Are traditional tools being used? etc. etc.

They have covered most of that in their newsletters and their website saxonship.org/
      Traditional methods and tools used.

@@ninja1150 Thanks, I understood that a lot of the questions I asked have been answered and my point wasn't that those specific questions should be answered in this video. My point, FWIW, is that the videos that are produced about this project haven't been very good and even a video like this with some seriously good production values misses the mark when it is made without any narration.
