KATHI HOLI - A UNIQUE TRIBAL FESTIVAL
The Tribals of Kathi in Satpuda range , a small village Kathi in Akkalkuwa of Nandurbar District, having a 750 year old unique tradition of playing ‘Rajwadi’ Holi ( Holika Dahan ).
Thousands of men and women dressed in traditional praise their Tribal King Raja Umed Singh. Rajwadi Holi is the oldest Holi celebration in tribals in country.Lakh of tribals from near by states gathering in Kathi for the celebration.
Tribals gathers the Holi by chanting and singing on the Folk tunes for whole night , they worship the Weapons of the King preserved by the family for centuries.Tribals mark their foreheads with the Holy ash of the Holi after Holik Dahan.
Musical instruments like Daf, Pawa and Tutari kept the atmosphere charged with energy ..
the Festival takes place for a whole week during Holi every year…
