Just got a new Rigid (Reflinghous?) anvil.. This is the best video Ive seen to set the anvil height. Hitting the wood and seeing whether the heel or toe hits first. When I grow up I want to have a super clean shop like this.
Good advice,my larger anvil is set to where when I'm holding tongs between my legs the tongs are fairly level(just got lucky there),my smaller anvil is set up higher because it's not taking such heavy blows and I think I have more control with finer/lighter work...as with most things it's trial and error combined with common sense, thank you
..YesSirReeBob, you hit the nail on the head. It's where the hammer hits that counts. Someone using Dog Heads will have to lower theirs more. To low will get you frequent trips to the doctor's office and sleeping with ice packs...!
Misspell. Refflinghaus. I think they were taken over by Rigid. German design. Bought a 275# one from Southern Tool. It's gorgeous. can't wait to use it.
Gosh your refflinghaus is so nice. Is it new? And if so how much did you pay for it and the shipping? Sorry but I just can’t find a lot of info about them

A chaotic shop gets in the way of the work.

BTW nice leather apron
It's thick and good for protection, but otherwise very uncomfortable. Better options out there for less $$$.
You diserve so many more views then you are getting.
Thank you. Nice to hear. New videos in the fall.
