I got to work on the EFV prior to its budget being cut out from under it just prior to execution of initial production. Would be very interested to hear if these have made it out to CAC at MCBH and how well the handle to gilligan island run to fort hasse.

@enderbjr I feel as if you missed the nuance of "It would take a LOT of experience". As in, eventually, I'd be absolutely cool with it.
Also, because there's no such thing as a soldier who sets foot on their first battlefield without fear, yet does so anyway, I can't help but imagine you aren't clear on the definition of "Courage."

I would love to know how these ACVs and old AAVs compare to their land based counterparts like Stryker. Does the amphibius capability have much impact on land speed, dry mass, etc.? I have to assume amphibius vehicles must have a few compromises that cost some performance and maintenance compared to a solely land vehicle.

I was a Vehicle Commander on the LAV-25 during the initial testing and training phase in 29 Palms. I took my first ride at a GM Plant in Ontario. This was an awesome vehicle from the start. The 25mm chain gun had its issues but formidable nonetheless. I am proud to be a part of history in these regards.

Marines.... train yourselves in wisdom. No battle is won without it's moorings... and love your enemy. Diplomacy is much less costly than having a clergy service member visit to deliver the news of a killed in action event. Remember, love the soldier and hate war. The last war is fought by The LORD. Peace, it will be Marines. Blessings..... Santa

@enderbjr the billions given to ukraine is a great point. I said from the beginning of all this theyre going to pull a horrible attrition rate and then collapse from inside. Now look at what theyre doing to their leadership. Just yesterday there was a report of their higher up extorting billions of dollars from the defense industry. That lasted for 3-4 years and you know it was probably longer.
As for the marines being a testament of raw will, power, and strength without much shiny equipment to show for it, it stands true and they have outlasted the test of time. Its honestly beautiful.
