My goodness.. this riff REALLY brings out the qualities of an acoustic guitar. The richness, the versatility in sound and the options to play without modulating any sound through electronics. It’s amazing and I love it, it’s perfectly played.
I learned today that drop C# is also not just like, tuning the E string down to C#. So technically this isn't drop C#. I'm so sorry I lied to you all. I'm just a fool.
Honestly, I'd say it still counts as a form of Drop C#, though you could clarify the exact tuning of each string in the description. Either way, no need to be hard on yourself!
If you lowered the entire guitar down three half steps, that would be C# standard. I guess technically drop C# would be playing a guitar tuned down a half step to E flat, and then tuning the low E down another step. Playing in standard tuning with the E string tune down to C#??? I’m sure someone’s got a name for it.
This reminds me of a halo end cutscene that never was. Master Chief looks out into the setting sun reflecting on the events of the game, we won the battle but the war was only beginning, we must finish the fight.
I've listened to this riff maybe 2-3 dozen times since I found it last week. Love the stuff in 6/8 and it's nice to have one more piece to try and practice it in!
Yup yes sir , drop C# is a gorgeous sound. The sound of a fresh crispy set of strings resonating though.. I usually have my 12 strings Taylor like that, then you find a good sweet spot and wow. Beautiful song cool chords.
0:14 is so good. This is a banger. I dig that you put the tabs up too edit: you should seriously make a full song out of this. i was jamming to this on my bass and its so fun to play
Dude, you and Adrian Bellue could make a super cool album together. Just sayin'. 😁 super cool riff man, ive been loving your music. Stumbled across "Words Won't" about 30 min ago and I'm really diggin your stuff!
somebody PLEASE record this on a distorted electric. this goes absolutely, unreasonably fuckass hard, and I need to hear it in the context of a metal riff
I think it’s so interesting that with a tuning similar to Neon you came up with a riff that sounds like it could have been on Room For Squares unintentionally
I’d always mistakenly assumed it operated the same way as dropped D (which it does) but I never looked at dropped D as an open tuning. I was always just like “yeah it’s just one string”. Not a whole tuning. A friend corrected me right after I published the video. I sure didn’t expect my ignorance to be on display to thousands!
Sir come with me that went unconstitutionally hard
officer i can't i got riffs to write
It's giving Karnivool vibes, and I am here for it every note of the way
Damn, literally no one talks about Karnivool. So cool to see someone mention them
Just commenting because someone mentioned Karnivool
@CommanderCodyChipless no appreciation for the man Rick Beato doing an entire video on Goliath?
That was so cool. Sound Awake is a great album. @@dedompler
That's a sick ass riff. Sounds so fucking chill while also being very impressive finger picking. Hell yeah dude
Giving Halo OST vibes - gave me stank face. Good shit!
Dude i can’t unhear it now. No wonder I love it so much, nostalgic halo vibes
I can hear this playing in New Mombasa or maybe exploring a Halo rings ancient ruins
Indeed
like a jazzy In Flames, awesome
Getting Antoine Dufour vibes from this. Absolutely love it.
He was one of my biggest guitar heroes growing up for sure!
Was going to make this exact comment.
Jesus Christ brother I can only get so hard.
I mean, the riff can only go so hard. Let’s go with that.
LMAOOO fr
So you're telling me you're bricked up too?
Andy McKee vibes. Excellent riff!
Was thinking the same.
Me as well.
Definitely reminds me of Art of Motion
I was thinking more Don Ross (loved his stuff with Andy McKee)
And Antoine Dufour

So it’s e standard but E dropped to C#?
@4tk1n5 This version of Drop C#, I believe so. The "Drop" in "Drop C#" indicates that you tune the low E string/6th string down.
Wooah, it has a very nice timbre and tonality to it, never thought to lower just E, big brain!!

We need a full song with this !!! It's incredible, congratulations !
Has that neon bounce to it, good stuff
This reminds me of a halo end cutscene that never was. Master Chief looks out into the setting sun reflecting on the events of the game, we won the battle but the war was only beginning, we must finish the fight.
I love everything about this. Been on repeat all day. Gooooooooood damn give me more of this.
I need a full song bro, this is like edging 😂
This made me rethink reality.
You're right, this does go unreasonably hard
Just got this recommended after seeing some C# videos, was a bit confused, but I'm glad I watched this! Great riff!
Reminds me of that Andy mkee guy from the old UA-cam days
Awesome. He's my biggest influence on guitar.
I've listened to this riff maybe 2-3 dozen times since I found it last week. Love the stuff in 6/8 and it's nice to have one more piece to try and practice it in!
Nice! Thanks for listening, man. I'm working on adding another section to it as we speak!
Can’t get this song out of my head
Plini would be impressed even. Nicely done!!
It goes hard because it’s played so well
This reminds me of Ewan Dobson. Super neat!
I personally call this tuning Drop D/C#. It’s unbelievably effective for droning lines.
Little Spencer Elliott, little Ewan Dobson. Your inspiration priorities are straight
I really like the middle part of the riff (from 0:15 to 0:30).
It would make a great bridge section.
Very Borderlands 2 vibes.
Love it.
Real Sever by We As Humans vibes. Love it!
Thank you!
Yup yes sir , drop C# is a gorgeous sound. The sound of a fresh crispy set of strings resonating though.. I usually have my 12 strings Taylor like that, then you find a good sweet spot and wow. Beautiful song cool chords.
Unreasonably good.
Going to echo the other commenters in saying that this needs to be a whole tune. I watch it a couple of times a day.
Adding more to it as we speak!
It sounds really cool 🤘
0:14 is so good. This is a banger. I dig that you put the tabs up too
edit: you should seriously make a full song out of this. i was jamming to this on my bass and its so fun to play
Got some Ewan Dobson vibes. Good work.
If Thomas Leeb and Don Ross had a baby, this is what it would sound like.
the thumb is so sick
I get so self conscious using the open "E" string so often just like this, but this sounds so good.
Would love to hear this when put on context of a full song. Absolutely badass riff man
Crazy how this only has 4.1k likes but a "hot girl" covering a nirvana song will have 100k likes.
cause booba
Dude, you and Adrian Bellue could make a super cool album together. Just sayin'. 😁 super cool riff man, ive been loving your music. Stumbled across "Words Won't" about 30 min ago and I'm really diggin your stuff!
Adrian is awesome. Love his sound. Glad you’ve been enjoying the tunes!
Nice! Make a whole song out of it!
Ewan would be proud
that's fucking NASTY. I get some killswitch engage meets august burns red vibes in that and I fucking LOVE it.
Thanks so much man!
oh man! glad I wasn't the only one who thought this was very KSE and ABR lol
such a good riff
I would love to hear this on an electric!
That went Andymckeeyly hard
Yoooo! This is sick! What guitar is that?!?!
It's very similar to the equally awesome riff in the intro to Coheeds No world for tomorrow.
For the first few notes I thought you're playing Neon by John Mayer
Me too
Getting strong Nechochwen vibes from this!
Goddayum! slaps!
No World For Tomorrow type beat I like it
Andy McKee vibes 💪
I love Andy's music big time. He's by far my strongest influence.
@@TomInBoston You do him proud!
Now i need to hear it with distortion lol
Sick! Giving me major Andy McKee vibes, I love it!
He is my guitar hero. Thanks so much man.
Love how zoomed in you are in Reaper lol. Great riff too!
Fucking awesome
almost careless whisper
Wow what great chord voicings. That was sick man.
Hell yea man. My hims are now HIMS. good shit.
Thanks for the tab mate, thats a great riff to learn ❤
Sick
First three notes had me thinking we had been Rick rolled and you were playing staying alive by the Bee Gees!
need an electric guitar version of this 🙏
Excellent! I want that middle section to repeat a few times!
Lets go m8 you re a beast as always. Didn't know you had a UA-cam channel apart from twitch, you got a sub right away XD
a vibes of FinalFantasyX travelling some big large island ahouuuuuuuu
Sounds like video game music
You've got me. You earned a new subscriber.
I agree!
Dude, that was *really* good!
1. Can confirm, goes extremely hard.
2. Now I just can't help but wonder what it'd sound like with some rock tones.
Nice
Here's a comment to help the algorithm.
It so cool to see one of the older Stonebridge guitars kicking around !!! I use to own like 3 of them lol 😂 😂
TASTY
I hear Claudio Sanchez singing in my mind to this it goes so hard
Sounds like an Andy McKee song. I miss that shit.
Very Mark Holcomb-y riff
Wow this is beautiful. Nice!
This riff would actually be brutal as a metal riff
somebody PLEASE record this on a distorted electric. this goes absolutely, unreasonably fuckass hard, and I need to hear it in the context of a metal riff
Awesome man have a subscribe
I think it’s so interesting that with a tuning similar to Neon you came up with a riff that sounds like it could have been on Room For Squares unintentionally
Liked, subbed, riffed
Sooo beautiful 🥲
This is really nice
May I know what kind of recording equipment you are using sir?
Sounds really great homey
How tf can you play that well but not know what drop C# is? 😮 that's incredible
I’d always mistakenly assumed it operated the same way as dropped D (which it does) but I never looked at dropped D as an open tuning. I was always just like “yeah it’s just one string”. Not a whole tuning.

crunchy
BTBAM would be proud
AP Calculus hard.
Hard riffs are definitely others
0:16 is amazing
This is real cool bro…keep it up ✌️☮️
What the fuck. This is unreal.
Sons of Anarchy Vibes... Jax Teller riding on his bike about to f**k someone up
Ah, a disciple of Monsieur Mongrain🧐
Hell yeah. Sounds great. Also, who is the maker ?
Pretty sick! Question: Did you mix the mic and piezo pickups together for bright and warm tones respectively?
It reminds me of a band from the 90's called Tantric. The guitar player had a parker nite fly and this vibe. Thier big song was breakdown
