Because it is the best thing ever. This song is what prog rock is all about. The slow build, the heavy bits, the reliance on instruments (and not just guitar solos) to make a statement, the amazing vocals... THIS SONG IS PROG ROCK. End of statement, end of world. I wish Elton could have covered this, that's the only thing that could make it better.
I love the way they did Silent Running in this performance. I think it might be that the piano part is usually quieter and less brash, but the stronger piano here lends more urgency.
I just got turned on to these guys as a result of Rock Band 4 and Holy Shit they're amazing. The 1980's rock opera video game sound is incredible. They are so into it and it's so much fun to watch them. I hope they release a live album and Blu-Ray to go along with it at some point. Incredible. This is special music.
I sometimes wish I could forget this album, just so I can listen to it again for the first time.
I only just discovered The Protomen, and Act II: The Father of Death has been quickly becoming my favorite album of all time.
So glad to hear it!
I never thought I’d be back in 2020 but here I am still listening to this song 8 years later

Here in 2023. This still is one of the greatest concerts of my life
Oh man, 10 years already? Wow, but the Protomen are timeless machines!
Urgh just plug it into my spine, I never want to leave
Can't thank you enough for recording this, I think this is my favourite version of Breaking Out on youtube
Thanks for filming. I was there with my brother that night. Great memories.
Panthers vocals are just amazing
I could not possibly care any less about Megaman, but fuck me if this isn't the best active rock and roll band.
There a rock opera actually
It's so far removed from the Megaman universe at this point. It's practically all original, apart from the cover songs woven in.
Just back here for my 5th daily dose of the day, this is fucking amazing

That and the connection to How The World Fell Under Darkness. So good

Watching them live is one of the best musical experiences I've ever had. If you haven't seen them live, you're doing yourself a disservice.
I wish they'd come play near where I live.
That guitar solo was amazing hahaha
Glad to hear it :D
TFY: This isn't an official video....CATCH UP TO YOUR LOVE Protomen!
The guitar man with the mustache looks like my dad XD no shit, almost identical.
That was fucking awesome!
Fucking awesome.

awsome Fucking.
He changed the lyrics right before the chorus. what does he say?
Baby, I swear I'm coming back to you.
But if I don't, don't blame yourself;
We all do what we think is right
What the hell happened to these guys? I haven't heard anything about them in years.
They're still touring. They just played a series of shows with TWRP.
In theory act III will be done within this century
