great presentation, I followed along and mirrored your project. Then I implemented with my own needs and it is so much easier to work with than column containers.
Thank you! Yes, eventually I want to make a course and cover everything from setting up Ignition and a database, to developing Perspective views for viewing and capturing data, troubleshooting in Ignition, using real-time tag data, and more.
I've found this technique super helpful when considering the possibility of mobile-responsive pages. The largest frustration with breakpoints & column containers is the double-handling of components, making it difficult to update pages. Would you suggest using grids for all pages that might have a mobile application or only forms like shown here?
Not only forms. I use grid almost everywhere. I think it makes a lot of sense to use grid if you know the page will end up being used on multiple device types.
No, actually I got my start with Ignition while working in IT for a foundry. They already had a bunch built out in Vision when I started there, and I was encouraged to learn it on my free time. I knew a little about programming and databases and HTML from a few classes I took in school, but that's all.
@@ArtekIntegratedSolutions Super impressive! I will be interested in any class you offer in the future. Also if you have any other recommendations for learning CSS, it will be greatly appreciated!
fantastic vid, thanks for you service! I will def be using this in my future views! You covered so many great standards topics in one fell swoop. #subscribed

Thank you so much for this! Quick question - were you a web designer before using Ignition?
