I enjoyed that. What a sea. And a terrific wind. My MiL waived the end of her life in a Scarborough nursing home and so we visited a few times, all in winter. I enjoyed seeing it again in adversity.
In October 1982 or 1983 I was working at Stansted airport in Essex, and we had almost exactly the same weather then as we have now. Everywhere was flooded. I'm in Cambridge now and it's been raining stair rods almost continuously for the las two days. If you really don't need to travel, then stay at home. Thanks for posting this, stay safe everyone.
exactly, weather like this is normal in uk from late autumn till spring. Be careful and look out for those in need and it is no different from any other year except that now we have nudge units and other psyops units directly targeting the uk public to spread unnecessary fear and take our eyes off what the unelected politicians are doing in parliaments behind our backs.
I used to live in Scarborough. A few years ago I saw a person znd a dog get washed off the top of the outer wall. Luckily washed inwards and didnt really hurt themselves- never underestimate the power of the sea.
Nice seafront promenade - far west Cornwall managed to avoid the worst this week, although there was a very, very high HIGH TIDE last Monday, with sea coming over the sea wall, but nothing too out of the ordinary for Penzance
I think the one standing has already read the other one's Will 😂👍 Looks like someone has bit of cleaning up to do ?? Definitely some wild weather. Great weather to inside in front of the fire.

Thank you for your comment, I too was born here, however we have not seen a storm like this since beast from the east and north easterly gales are not as frequent as they once were. Also remember there are thousands of people who live inland and rarely get a chance to see this.
@@TheModelShipwrightPaulLester I didn’t even notice a storm, I was too busy working. The ‘beast from the east’ wasn’t wind it was below zero temperatures and thick snow for weeks. My niece and her family live in the North of Scotland and often she will say “oh that’s normal weather for us” 👍🏼
It was actually Anticyclonic Harmut, dubed, Beast from the East, which brought bad weather to most of the UK including storm force winds of 70 mph to the east coast.
The video doesn't do it justice, the boats were bouncing around a lot and a few have pulled their moorings, one has broken its cradle and gone over to 45 degrees causing significant damage.
@@TheModelShipwrightPaulLester It definitely doesn't look like that in the video. Maybe you should have held the shot longer and not kept stopping from one scene to the next so much. Thanks for your reply.

Incredibly dangerous but one of the most impressive things you can see - the power of the sea! Thank you for sharing!

THANK YOU ALL FOR THE COMMENTS, SOME NICER THAN OTHERS BUT THAT'S LIFE, I HAVE REPLIED TO MOST, BUT TOO MANY TO REPLY TO ALL,
After spending summer holidays there a few years ago, its always interesting to see what resorts are like out of season in bad weather.
It changes very quickly, today (Sunday) you wouldn't have known it happened, we even had a yacht race and the speed boats were out.
Looks like a good part of the beach is now on the prom and the road!
Yes, the council will be busy on Monday.
Along time ago, i remember a bad high tide crashing waves on the marine drive that reached the base of the castle.
I remember that too.
Brings back some memories for me

Unfortunately people do and most of the casualties are people from inland, who just don't understand it.
Haha love the reading of the will comment!
I thought something along the same lines, but more related to attempted murder lol !

I lived in Porthleven for a couple of years and was with the Navy down there, it has it's share of rough weather.
@@TheModelShipwrightPaulLester absolutely yes
Thanq for the video
Wow that sea looks rough, I Really feel for the life boats that get called out in this, they SHOULD be paid & not just Volunteer.
"Brave" is the biggest understatement imaginable.
I am involved with the Scarborough Lifeboat too, thankfully no callouts.
very good video. glad you posted.
Thank you!
Good job hanging in there and getting all that footage. Nice post! I subscribed. :) Cheers.
Thanks for the sub!
Heck, never seen Scarborough like that! Apart from the odd sea fret, it's usually "cracking the flags" when we go.
brilliant, thank you, love scarburger whatever the weather
Glad you enjoyed it

Great weather to inside in front of the fire.
Apparently it was completely flattened and it caused Tens of pounds worth of damage.
Want an ice cream now I've seen the harbour bar !!. Rest of scarborough looks the same just a little more weathered.
Thank you, that was awesome.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks Paul .

@wallycustard1281 I'm from Brum so it looks scary to me lol.
The winds will keep blowing. In save harbour and in open sea.
It will and it does, some boats did sustain damage though.
Guaranteed those two are old sailors.
Thank you for your comments, pleased you like the video. I am a retired sailor too.
Always wonder what happened to PEG sailing yacht She was moored in harbour for years then gone probably sold on
Yes she was sold, Brian who owned her has retired from sailing.
Well that will smarten the place up a bit 😂😂😂
Time something did.
