I was banned from the Halo Infinite Steam hub for saying "what a terrible idea" to "We should put Spartan Charge and Ground Slam back in Halo Infinite as part of the default moveset". I was banned by Titan, whose favorite Halo games are 4 & 5, for "no intent in participating constructively to the conversation".
Same moderator who sometimes replies "ok 👍" when his horrible arguments are defeated by facts by some random dude who was just asking why the game is the way it is.

was the multiplayer in 5 actually good? I've always heard of 5 campaign being trash but dunno about its multiplayer. Same thing for 4, even though I was a kid when i played my first halo ( halo 4) and didn't realize that it is bad, multiplayer in 4 is really fun but the campaign is apparently bad. Even now that im playing every halo in TMCC i find halo 4's campaign fun to play, the story so far isn't like groundbreaking or something worthy to be remembered tho
As someone on the autism spectrum I laughed out loud so hard upon hearing this, now I know to never join that Discord server, aside from a couple chill servers I try to stay clear of public Discord servers as I hear a lot have ban happy mods.
Funny how these random online conversations help normalize autism and moderators straight up kill them on sight. When I grew up, autism was the bane of civilisation. Now it's sort of accepted? It's so accepted that randos claim they are on the spectrum (including those very moderators who clearly aren't) just for an excuse for being terrible people who can't land a job.

Yea, from what I heard, Mint blitz’s server is one of the few actually good halo servers. I highly recommend you avoid servers owned by crontex beats or lord mdama as mdama did some pretty screwed up stuff and both servers mods are assholes

In the Steam group when they posted about gay pride, I posted in it that I didn't like companies using being gay as a marketing tool, and that it felt disingenuous. My comment was deleted, and when I brought it up to the discord mods (who also moderate the steam pages) they said that wasn't the place to talk about it.
It feels very washed out and corporate, like the community exists to provide an illusion of a vibrant community, but it's a very managed and controlled community.

I got perm-banned from the Steam Community for saying that as someone who has numerous disabilities, we should reward people for overcoming them, not *having* them during disability pride day. The only thing it said was 'show some common decency and respect'. Like, okay, gg, thanks for the fucking life sentence over a knee-jerk decision in complete bad faith. I wasn't even the only one that had that take.
I can't leave reviews for mods or get tech support within the community. I then found that a previous post about MCC crashing on launch (I couldn't open the game at all for a week) I made was deleted. I don't know if that's an automatic thing, or this guy was so asshurt that he went back and deleted that irrelevant post just because I hurt his feelings so bad.

i got banned from the waypoint forums when halo 5 was popular because i kept being mean and the nail in the coffin was me posting eminem lyrics
I was permanently-banned from the Halo: The Master Chief Collection Steam Community Hub (Not just the Discussions, but Comments, Screenshots, maybe even submitting Guides & Workshop Items as well!) at the beginning of June 2024 for the following:
- *Topic Maker:* "so... what's the point of the "unity month" announcement, anyway? clearly, y'all know nobody cares for it, otherwise you wouldn't have locked the comments. so... what's the point, exactly? are you just trying to annoy people?"
- *Myself (Marked as Answer):* "They've got to pretend that somebody somewhere is still at related work on The Master Chief Collection somehow, lest they allow anybody to be left beyond all doubt that it has actually had all maintenance, oversight, etc. silently come to an end long before now. Although, they were all strangely quiet around Memorial Day and when it's dedicated Nameplate(s) [Link to Source] arrived/returned. Was everybody on leave for that week or did that one just happen to slip past their memory?"
The ban reason?
"Show basic courtesy and respect".
Over the course of 21 days, I:
- Made two attempts to communicate with the relevant staff via the Official Halo Discord Server (Which resulted in deleted-on-the-spot posts I mostly have a record of, being told to "Shut up & get out!" in all but the phrase itself, being muted for 24hrs on my first attempt, stern warnings and basically no direction to appeal whatsoever, even though Discord & Xbox/Microsoft both offer appeals for Server/Anti-Cheat bans)
- Made two connected Steam Support tickets that also include records of these exchanges (Which their "a lack of what you would likely find to be a satisfactory response from the team associated with the publisher/developer" comment almost seems to imply that their communications were almost as unhelpful to them as they were to me), along with a list of material of the Halo Steam Community Moderation team had failed to enforce (They were almost entirely silent throughout the whole of May 2024), but even time-relevant examples of one of the members of the Moderation team blatantly disregarding their own rule-set (I'm sure certain people can guess who this "i'm like if a 6 year old deserved to get it" is)
- Provided multiple responses to the Ban Message with *nothing* ever returning (I was even told to do this in my second exchange by the aforementioned "i'm like if a 6 year old deserved to get it" that I had the misfortune of having the most communication with when it wasn't the Discord-Only staff telling me to, in their actual words, "take it to steam")
- A quick & unpleasant Twitter exchange with this aforementioned "i'm like if a 6 year old deserved to get it" (Not my preferred way of doing things, but when all official channels are closed off to you...) who promptly returned my simple & reasonable question with strong evidence that they are indeed what they describe themselves as and then Blocked me after I otherwise complied with their warning and voluntarily deleted my responses to a 9-day-old Tweet openly talking about how "June is Hell Month" (I figured that it wouldn't be "creep behaviour" to respond to a public tweet instead of direct-messaging them). They did otherwise say "Not my ban. Not my problem.", so that at least led me to believe that the 'rot' extends far beyond 'a single apple', assuming they weren't lying through their petulant & childish teeth (Although I do have material to suggest that they are not, which just implies to me that somebody earning a wage/salary issued this ban and then left their volunteers to take all the flak, which is just plain cowardice).
Looking around at the moment, it honestly looks like that 343 Industries public relations are disappearing into the gutter yet again (I avoid the rumour mill & petulant drama as much as possible, but even I can't avoid hearing that people are currently spreading recent quotes by Martin O'Donnell, Marcus Lehto, Hailey Eira & Tom Warren, regardless of context or validity, Halo Infinite is facing major technical issues that may not be exclusive to a recent NVIDIA Driver and the only thing The Master Chief Collection has received lately is more material from the community-operated Digsite Crew) and after the recent closures of Arkane Austin & Tango Gameworks, I'm only left with two possible theories as to why I received this ban after only having warnings for mentioning 'Eldewrito' by name in The Master Chief Collection Discussions & for "bypassing the profanity filter in the Halo Infinite discussions:
- I spoke a little too close to the truth for a developer's liking
- I simply found myself caught in a ban wave, but nobody wants to admit that there are no "life jackets" for the "Steam Class Passengers" or be seen giving me or any other "Steam Class Passengers" any.
I can only say that you should absolutely avoid the Steam Discussions for Halo: The Master Chief Collection & Halo Infinite (They don't seem to care one bit about any prior Halo games on Steam, but I have only the publicly-viewable Post History of the known staff to imply that), because it is largely "monitored" by people (There is one largely-liked exception who generally only speaks up when they have information and/or actionable advice to offer) whose behaviour can only lead me to describe them as childish, 'badtivist'/'craptivist', cretinous, "Rules apply to thee, not me" 'soderators' who seem to have all the time in the world to role-play tech support to almost no helpful avail (One of them can't even be bothered to double-check a Wikipedia, Halopedia or PC Gaming Wiki article to find out what Halo: Custom Edition is before telling someone "Everything about what you said is wrong", only for everything *they* say to be wrong), but none to even so much as provide an explanation beyond "Show basic courtesy & respect" to a user who is confused about why they've been perma-banned from the Community Hub as a whole.
I can only hope that Steam Support "forwarding [my] comments on to the appropriate department" will amount to something, because all I'm left with is not having been banned from the Halo Infinite Community Hub (As if I have any use for that besides getting banned for just asking where or with who I may discuss and/or appeal my ban again or otherwise seizing an opportunity to highlight the moderation team's incompetence with material examples, A.K.A being "irrelevant") and the possibility that I have not been banned from the Official Halo Discord Server (Which, I'll be honest, *creeped* me out the whole time I was there thanks to this matter).
All-in-all, yes. The "Discord Moderator" stereotypes are thoroughly at work within Halo's community management team, they fail at their jobs so thoroughly that they make the dull-minded, hate-filled people that commonly attack them more worth listening to than them (And that honestly *sickens* me) and should be avoided keenly. That, and I can only say for myself that the comments here made by @UnintelligibleYT, @Afrecta & @MYNAMEISFROWNER are all things that I have similarly, if not identically seen for myself.
*FUTURE ME:* 'Summer Solstice' arrived with a brand new Nameplate for MCC and, just like 'Memorial Day', *nothing* has been said about it anywhere. It does seem that they'll only announce a new or returning Nameplate for Halo: The Master Chief Collection if it is for an event that Halo Infinite is adjacently marking the occasion for, so while they did indeed announce the returning 'Disability Pride Month' Nameplate, I severely doubt that they will for the brand-new 'Independence Day' (The U.S.A One) nameplate or any other brand new nameplate for The Master Chief Collection -- Oh, never mind, they did, even though Halo Infinite hasn't -- Oh, looks like they neglected to mention 'Baptiste Day' that was reportedly available for two weeks -- Oh, *now* they feel inclined to mention 'International Pirate Month' & 'Purple Heart Day' and are interested in "remembering our heroes and their sacrifices". What a way to make the value of the time of the artist(s) who prepared those Nameplates, along with the company's standards of "representation" so blatantly obvious.
Plus, even for just mentioning & quoting my ban to someone else questioning the reason for their temporary Matchmaking Ban, my post was deleted entirely and I was given a delayed warning, with broken links I must add, that merely included the reason "Quit venting about your ban everywhere". It's nice to know that not only they won't tell me why they banned me, but will actively punish me just for asking them to tell me why. So... no, I think I will "vent about [my] ban" to who & where I see fit.

I’ve seen that the mods are lowkey kinda rude when talking to other people it was so bad that I had to leave. The server was poorly organized and a mod got mad at somebody for putting something in #forge instead of #halo which I was pretty sure wasn’t a thing but whatever so I called him out on it and he was like “this is for forge lfg’s”-🤓
And I said “yea except for the fact that no one uses for that and the guy would have had no way of knowing that.” And then I left before even caring to read his response.
