BAKHMUT FRONT While there are some large fortifications near Bakhmut, these seem to be more exposed positions, which would be found at the rear of the fortifications of the front line, to facilitate rocket fire and other distance weaponry. Now they may have built more fortifications since the Google map images have been uploaded, but I don't think the Ukrainians would have dug-in fortifications this far back. We see them at major crossroads and/or as large and exposed positions, likely to facilitate the ease of movement for munitions replenishment and mobilization. I think it is the case that the Ukrainians keep sending reinforcements and what little armaments they have left, in order to maintain continuous fighting, while the Russians patiently move and counter fire, wearing down the Ukrainians munitions and manpower. A very slow grind...but a grind nonetheless. It is relentless and demoralizing, to say the least, especially after the Ukrainians spent a year or more fortifying these positions. Thanks Wyatt.
